We went on opening day and had a nice time. It was cooler that day so I think that may have helped with the smaller crowds. My overall take is it's a small park with limited seating for the amount of people admitted. So if you want to have a seat, get there early and stake your claim! Everyone respected the saved seats on the day I went, and no one bothered our stuff. Here are my tips: Here are some tips: Arrive early - that's the best way to secure seats and get a few rides in before it gets busy. Once it gets busy, lines will be brutal. Bring snacks - the lines were long to get food. Wear water socks or shoes to keep your feet safe and clean. There are a couple rides where you will have to take them off though. Bring towels, they do not provide any there. Be prepared for chilly water. It was manageable, especially on a hot day. But my kids were chilly walking from one place to the next. Come up with a system for your kids in case you get separated. It's easy to get out of view, especially when you have 2 or more kids doing different things. Tell them where to go (or to stay put) if they can't find you, and where you will be. Put your kids in bright clothing so they stand out and are easy to spot. If you want to use a raft in the lazy river you will have to rent one for the day. It's $18 for a single, $25 for a double. Honestly I think this is to keep the number of rafts in the lazy river low as it's really small. Also it was full of leaves and dirt on the day they were went. There are plenty life guards around. We had not been to this and have season passes, so we figured we should try this side out at least once and skip on the roller coasters to see what it's all about. When we came not all slides were open. The ones that were, were fun, and the lines moved fairly quickly. The lazy river kind of dirty, they definitely need to sweep, food was good, so that's a plus when you have been running around and need a boost. There was alcohol being served and at the end of our day, there were two people getting into an argument that escalated fairly quickly, and so that was a bummer. Maybe monitor the drinks a little better with these people, especially when they bring their kids and screaming and trying to assault each other, isn't the best example. I came here with my family on a Sunday and by 10am the parking lot was already filling up! The park opens at 10:30 so we waited in line which was already formed. Pros: the kid(s) area is so cute and fun. There are multiple areas for them to go and my 5.5 year old loved playing in these areas. There are some chairs in shade which I was able to grab but not a ton. The lifeguards were great and I felt very safe. Cons: the water is FREEZING. It was so cold I couldn't even enjoy the water. To get a tube for the lazy river you have to PAY! I can understand a deposit to take one and you get it back once you return the tube but nope! $18 for a single and $25 for a double. The lines are long which wasn't great but I know they can't help that. We have a season pass so we will be back and I hope next time the water is more manageable temperature wise. read more

Bottom line: a terrible place. All in all, we did not feel welcome here. What kind of place do you think requires its own satellite police station? My wife won tickets to this place on the radio which seemed really cool but the tickets expired in a week, so we had to go right away but we figured we could splurge on a Cabana. Cabana: $350 First off, the poor people in the parking lot kiosks have no chair, no fan... they are just being forced to stand in their own sweat with the heat of all the cars in a tiny metal box in triple digit heat. We loaded up and walked to the entrance (I clocked it later, the walk was 3/4 of a mile). As we walk in there is a man on a microphone yelling at people - no explanation, he's just yelling "YOU IN THE YELLOW, GO RIGHT. YOU IN THE BLUE, LEFT. HEY!! BLUE LEFT." and again, more confusion and no information. We certainly didn't feel welcome. I put my things through the scanner and I had forgotten that I had left my work power cel and jumper cables in my backpack. I'm not sure what shenanigans they are expecting me to get into with that, but they forced me to take it back to the car after giving me a pretty hard time about it. When I got back to the line to get in, I literally just walked through security without anyone batting an eye. Nobody cared, they were just chatting amongst themselves about how bad everything was. Finally in the park, we found our Cabana which is just a small wooden structure with a corrugated tin roof. So if it's 105 outside, its 115 inside your cabana.... which is "cool". Two of our chairs were broken, there was no trash can but a safe? Mind you, the safe wasn't actually attached to anything, so anyone could just walk away with it. The police station out front was starting to make more sense. In front and all around our $350 cabana was dirt and mud. It looks like there used to be grass surrounding this area at one point but zero maintenance which has lead to lots of mud and puddles so there were just people falling in the mud which was simultaneously funny and sad. There was also garbage, everywhere. In the plants, piled up next to the trash cans, in the water. While visiting this place, you really get the impression that nobody cares about anything. I went with my kids to go and try some of the fun water slides so we got in line for one of the towers, which was already all the way to the bottom. 45 minutes later of mostly standing in the direct sun, we made it to the top of the tower where a single 'lifeguard' was up there and completely checked out to what was going on around. I've never seen someone with such little sense of urgency with regards to people. This person definitely made us feel unwelcome. I asked this person why there weren't more lifeguards to help "I dont know". After two trips up that tower it was already time for lunch. Lunch $120 - we ordered one of the platters which seems like a good idea for the family. The food is exactly what you would expect; terrible and gouging. $7 for a bottle of water? They do have the water refill stations around the park but I only ever saw two and we used those a lot. We waited an hour for the salad that never showed up. I finally had to go ask someone about it and I got this same response over and over and over again during our visit: I don't know. I went to where the food appeared to be coming from and asked someone there about our salad. "I don't know". Almost everyone person on the staff I talked to said this on repeat. It's amazing at how little the staff working here actually know. I finally found someone with an apron and asked where the salad might be "I don't know". Eventually our caesar salad showed up....with ranch dressing. After lunch we wanted to try some of the tube slides. Because nobody knows anything it took us quite a while to find out that we got tubes with our cabana rental. Where are the tubes? Every time I asked anyone about this I got the same response "I don't know" or they are over there *gestures wildly*. I eventually did find the tubes and we waited another 45 minutes to get to the top of the tower where we got to see how poorly built and maintained the facility is with badly welded and rusted joints, slippery steps.... Lastly we wanted to try the lazy river which I have to say was disgusting. The water was murky and gross with lots of....stuff in the water, like plant matter and lord knows what else. At one point our 8 year old daughter got separated from us and was just sitting by herself and crying her eyes out. Not a single staff member helped - I finally found her curled up and crying. The staff are simply inept - nobody knows anything and nobody is helpful. The park is disgusting and don't even get me started on the bathrooms. How we didn't get a disease is beyond me. The couches were stained and dirty, the radio didn't work, and the food once ordered took over an hour to arrive. When it finally showed up, it was honestly worse than gas station food. I have three kids--ages 10, 6, and 4. The 10-year-old had a good time, but our 6-year-old, who is 45 inches tall, was barely able to ride anything. The park's height restrictions severely limited his options, which meant a lot of waiting around and disappointment. Not exactly ideal for a family day out. Bottom Line: It felt like Six Flags was charging luxury prices for a fast-food level experience. If you're thinking of dropping $350 on a cabana, I'd recommend spending that money literally anywhere else. I recently went for the Night event for Halloween at 7pm. I like that you can get on rides while you go on mazes as well. Not all rides are open but a good amount are open. The zombies do scare you but not A LOT. A lot less of them compared to other places. Some mazes were really short. The conjuring one was the best one! It's definitely family friendly scary. Sort of a random end of the summer trip to take advantage of our gold member season passes. My daughter and I arrived just before the gates opened and even then we were very lucky to find an available pool chair to stash our stuff. Clearly without staff monitoring or intervention guests are claiming more chairs than they actually need, and there simply aren't enough chairs for everyone. So it's likely (depending on the size of your party) you won't find a spot if you arrive even slightly after opening time. Everyone we interacted with at the slides and pool area were very friendly. Then came lunch....Absolute nightmare. There was only one available location and line to purchase food from. We waited over an hour and a half from the time we got in line to the time we ordered our food, huge disappointment and inconvenience that HH can't offer other food options or at least a more efficient way of serving hungry families. The food was great though, hot and fresh, delicious. A young man was literally restocking condiments at the outside counter and my daughter wanted ranch dressing. I politely asked him if he knew where we could find ranch, his exact response: "No idea" Keep in mind this is an employee. Unbelievable. My issue with this deal is that it states nowhere any type of terms/conditions if this deal applies on the birthday only, or includes adjacent days. I've been coming to Hurricane Harbor since I was around 7 years old! I'm now 24, and decided to go last Tuesday to relive some Nostalgia, and because I haven't been since 2019. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING HAS CHANGED! (In a good way). This place still has the same welcoming, nostalgic vibe as I remember from my Childhood. The only things that have changed are a few paint jobs to some of the waterslides, and some added Cabanas by the pools. Which I think adds a bit of charm! The lifeguards are always on duty and making sure everyone is safe and having a good time! The waterslides are just as thrilling as I remember, and going on a Weekday DEFINITELY helps improve the experience! No incredibly long lines. My 1 and ONLY complaint is the food. DEFINITELY NOT worth your money. Almost every single food item is more than $20! So if you're hungry, I recommend bringing your own food and eating it before you go in. It was a holiday, so while the crowd was expectedly large, that wasn't really the issue. The real letdown was the food situation. We lined up at the Cowabunga Grill thinking it wouldn't be too bad, but we ended up waiting over an hour and a half, just for them to finally tell us they ran out of chicken patties and asked us to wait another 15 minutes. The line barely moved the entire time, and it felt like the staff had no sense of urgency or organization when taking orders. And after all that, the food we finally got? Completely bland. No sauce, barely any seasoning, just not worth the time or money. If you're heading here, I'd recommend packing your own food or eating beforehand. I read all the negative reviews and I did NOT want to go. However, we had family visiting and they insisted so we gave it a shot. I was pleasantly surprised and we ended up having a great time. Pros: 1. It was not crazy crowded. The lines were at most 15-20 mins. Social distancing encouraged and masks required when indoors. 2. The park was not dirty like I read in other reviews. The pool and lazy river were totally clean. I didn't see a bit of trash anywhere. 3. The staff was nice and helpful. 4. The slides were fun! Cons: 1. The line to get in the park took a long time. And it was hot so the kids were getting a little impatient. 2. The beach chairs were all taken almost immediately, with some families saving up to 20 chairs. We ended up renting a cabana which was nice, but pricey. 3. The restrooms could have been cleaner and better stocked. Mostly just water everywhere which is to be expected at a water park but still a little gross and they were out of paper towels too. 4. Some slides did close throughout the day for repair or maintenance. Bummer when you are standing in line and then you have to leave and try again later. As mentioned above, we ended up renting a cabana for our large group. I think this made a huge difference in our day. It was $180 but included fresh/cold water all day and waiter service so we didn't have to wait in line for food. It also included 4 inner tubes so we didn't have to rent those. The shade and 8 chairs were amazing and it was really nice to have a table to eat lunch at. Totally worth the money, in my opinion, and reasonable if you can split it with your group. All in all, the kids had a blast and can't wait to go back. It's certainly not perfect but way better than I expected! Give it a shot and get the cabana if you can. All in all I had a very good day but I will share a few cons while highlighting the pros. They charge $40 for parking if you don't have a season pass but they don't even have a tram running so the walk to and from your car is long. If you want a seat in the shade you need to be at the park at opening or be prepared to pay for premium seating. Shaded seating is very limited. Online it says you cannot bring food in but everyone around us had their own food. This was my first visit to hurricane harbor after going to magic mountain next door several times. I was a little nervous after seeing some reviews but my experience was a positive one. They have several fun slides. We loved tornado the most. They have more body slides than slides with floats so if that's your thing you will really love this park. Don't want to wait in extra lines? You can rent a float that you can use for several slides and in the wave pool and lazy River. My biggest complaint is that it's really unfortunate that you can't relax in the lazy River without paying to rent a float. I love that they play Looney Tunes cartoons in the wave pool. read more

Arrive when it opens only to find out the two areas designated for them are closed without warning. They won't tell you a reason - unscheduled maintenance - is the best I got. They won't estimate what time they will re-open - had to force a "today" out of the ninth person I asked - and they won't offer an alternative or compensation in any form. Nearly 4 hours later, when it does open, the four year old goes an age appropriate slide only to bounce off the landing pad and get her toe pinched in a grate that's right next to where the slide drops you off. We are season passholders and we have a lot of of benefits within the park one of them is that we are able to enter the different parks with the same season pass. Which is just perfect for today because it is hot and my kids love water and they love to swim in this water park have something for everybody Another favorite of mine is that everyone that is in a swimsuit feels confident and are all different shapes and sizes. So for all the moms who are here with the kids and people who are curvy , skinny are all here for the same reason to have fun in the water and no one is focused on their body or how they look sure it's in the back of my mind but it is not the main focus of the fun here at the park that is why I am mentioning it because the dress code is simply to have fun. read more

I had an amazing time visiting the "Holiday in the Park" at Six Flags last night and seeing all the beautiful decorations. The walkways were lit up and there were multiple snow machines in the entrance of the park. Santa was in the park with his elves and other amazing characters, like the gingerbread man and a candy-cane character. I had a few problems in the park when it came to the rides that were open. Overall, four thrill rides were closed and multiple rides closed an hour before the park closed. We were standing in line for over an hour when the ride started having "technical difficulties". The worker said that we could choose to wait or leave, but the ride was closed since it was 8pm. We decided to wait an additional 30 minutes when the worker said the ride was closed all together. Why tell us to wait just to close the ride? I'm a season pass holder and every time I come there are over five rides closed. The best part of the park was the strawberry sundae funnel cakes! I love the rides the food is not the best (pretty over priced) but overall really fun!

I've been a long time Membership holder. Gold to start and most currently a Diamond Member. Something they don't offer anymore! Through the years prices have skyrocketed without much movement in the way of seating, shade or additions to the attractions. Hurricane Harbor feels like the forgotten sibling of Six Flags Magic Mountain! This last time visiting, I realized that since the last two years parking alone has gone up $10 per car! Thank goodness its included in my membership! Perks for the Membership also seem to be slowly fading away. The tram only ran 1 time in the last 4 times I've visited. This August, we brought a friend with us and he bought his ticket. We arrived before opening of the water park and there were MANY people ready for the gates to open, but not a soul in the Membership line, 3/4 people in the group had a paid Membership and the person at the front (Jeremiah) had a power trip and made us all (including my 7 year old with a pass) wait for the regular gates. Which, I get it's policy, but here's the thing- he wouldn't even have come and paid for a ticket if it weren't for us - that's the kinda thing you just let slide seeing as NOBODY ELSE was behind or in-front of us waiting in that cue. The lack of shade, and lack of eating options at the water park make it less than appealing to want to spend the whole day. The only seating is the Cabanas that you have to book months in advance. And again- all people in the party have to have a pass. Very frustrating when you're trying to bring friends and get them to want to buy a season pass etc. The wave pool only seems to run half waves for 5-10 minutes at a time now. It's really just overcrowded and stressful now. PROS: my daughter loves it. For as long as the sun will allow. She finally tried the water slides she's tall enough for now and I hope we can come more often buuuuut.... All in all, I can feel our visits becoming less frequent to this water park if these things aren't addressed. Six flags has more than enough money and man power to put into BOTH parks. read more

I just experienced the lowest possible point and service I've ever experienced at Hurricane Harbor in all the years that I've been a member. First let me start by saying I've been a loyal Six Flags Diamond Park member for years. Today my son and I arrive at 8:40am this morning so that we can make sure to get a good spot in line and a good parking spot. We all know that the earlier you arrive the better your seating. I also have been allowed to bring a small cooler inside the park because my son has special diet and must have cold water to drink and healthy food to eat. So I've always packed a small cooler to bring inside the park. Never, Ever Had a problem. Never! So I get to the gate and the harassment starts. You can't bring in a cooler UNLESS you have purchased a Cabana. WHAT! I gotta now purchase a Cabana to be allowed to bring in a small cooler. I get surrounded by three guards telling me I either leave the park to walk cooler back to my car or I throw it away. Then when I get upset about this treatment of their loyal customers I'm told to leave for the day. NOT happening. I need to speak to someone higher than you. They tell me I cannot. I told them I'm not leaving until I speak to your manager. Finally a manager is brought down. I explain that this treatment of customers is horrible. He agrees to let me sit cooler by the gate. I'll pick up on the way out. My son and I are allowed to go inside. THEN.......get this. We get here early so that we can get good seating. Six Flags has now turned 90% of their seating that used to be free into paid seating. Meaning you cannot sit down and rest yourself UNLESS you go online and reserve those seats. You have to now pay for 90% of the seating in Hurricane Harbor. So you have to pay for a Cabana to bring in a cooler. And you now have to pay for seating to sit down and just lounge for the day. TRUST ME when I tell you, whomever the management is at Hurricane Harbor. These policies are horrible. Not only am I complaining about them but every single member who walked in today and saw these horrible new rules they instituted just to make MORE MONEY, are pissing us all off. I AM SERIOUSLY CONTEMPLATING CANCELLING A MEMBERSHIP I'VE HAD AND ENJOYED FOR YEARS. Smooth moves exlax! Y'all dumb! Seriously dumb. This day just keeps getting better. Then I went to the shop to redeem our Cotton Candy and Rock Candy points that we turned in the other day. And they are refusing to honor our points. Their excuse is that it's a corporate issue and they can't help us. YOU HAVE GOT TO KIDDING ME!! We earned this points through our membership and they WILL NOT let us use them. WTF is going on Six Flags. This year your customer service has seriously gone down to absolutely ZERO. We had to get out of the water. Walk all the way to the other side of the park to Magic Mountain to find a candy store where we can redeem our points that they tell us we earn for being loyal Six Flags members. Looks to me like Six Flags Magic Mountain no longer care about anything other than making more money. They don't care if your a Diamond member or any member. I just heard them tell a Diamond Elite member that he had to pay $50 for new cups that are supposed to be given to us for free. Wow, just wow. What a freaking day and this was all before noon. This is also duck poop, all around the deck of the pool. They didn't even have the decency to clean the deck before allowing patrons which include children, into the park. What is seriously going on with Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Water Park? This is disgusting. read more

Terrible experience. I bought 5 tickets for one-day entry for $60 each, only to find out that a Gold Pass is available for the exact same amount until Labor Day. This feels like fraud to me. Why would you do this to your customers ??? Why would you have a one-day entry available on your website for $60 when you offer a much better deal simultaneously? There is NO cancelation policy of any kind. If you did not know - your fault, you are stuck with these tickets, and nobody will help you to convert them to Gold Passes. Absolutely the worst park experience ever. Took my six teenage grandchildren to the park on 08/10/2023. We were looking so forward to it. We arrived at 10:15 and waited for 20 minutes to pay and park our car. The kids jumped on a ride and then we decided to go to the bigger rides. Guess What? The 6 best rides in the park were shut down. A lifeguard told me it was for scheduled maintenance, although no one was working on them. I went to Customer Relations because we were going to leave and I wanted a refund for the $400 I had spent. The time is now 10:45. I was met by Richard who stated there was nothing he could do and he told me to call the Cooperate Office. I asked to speak to his manager and again he told me to call the Cooperate Office. There are now 9 people in line demanding to get their money back because half the rides are closed. I realized I was going no where with this so I took my crew home and I called my credit card company to cancel the bill. We stopped in the gift shop on the way out and the three guys inside stated they didn't have the staff to open the rides. I told him I was told it was scheduled maintenance and he told me they are told to say that. I have now read other reviews and I find this to be the norm. If you have little kids I'm sure you would have a good time, otherwise I suggest you go somewhere else. read more

I CANNOT believe this mess!! This is the most disappointing experience ever!.. I woke up this morning SICK but excited to go to six flags. I pack my things and I'm on my way with a smile on my face. Family went during the middle of the week so the crowds were not bad. We payed for premium parking but still had to walk a mile to the entrance. Security didn't search our bags No lines at all. Got right in and found our cabana that we reserved. Immediately went on slides and the lazy river. Came back around 1pm to order some lunch. Concierge came after about 20 minutes. Didn't have a menu and didn't know prices. Finally got that sorted and the food came out quickly. Had the chicken strips with French fries and a pretzel. I felt bad for the young man serving us. He seemed untrained and in over his head. Can't imagine what he would do if the place had been busy. Was it dirty? Yes. Did I count 3 bandaids in the lazy river? Yes. Did we have a good time? Absolutely. Don't have high expectations and you won't be disappointed. read more
