A must. Hands down, even though the immersion gets quickly broken, Universal Studios has super immersive, eye catching "lands" that are true to their source material. It's like you just walked into Springfield, complete with all of the characters hanging and local scenery and shops from Moe's Tavern, the Krusty Burger, Krustyland (where the ride is located), the Kwik-E-Mart, Lard Lad Donuts, and much more. I've seen Homer and Bart hanging out to meet guests and the other characters come out too I'm sure. There's the Welcome to Springfield sign and skyline with the nuclear reactors and lots and lots of details, Easter eggs, photo opportunities and just things to look at. Perfect for any hardcore Simpsons fan or just for the standard theme park guest. Aside from the eateries (there's a lot of them - Krusty Burger, chicken, Italian, Duff beer, donuts, etc. but the quality of the food is just alright), ride, photo ops, and character meet and greets, there's also carnival games here and you can even go up to the second floor of the Krusty Burger. Welcome to Springfield! Springfield USA at Universal Studios brings all the nostalgia! I used to enjoy sitting on the couch with the family, watching this show while growing up. The characters are all iconic and the show is just great comedy. Seeing how Universal Studios brought Springfield to life, it is so refreshing. They really nailed it on the head with this! I am huge fan of the Simpsons. So as a first time visitor to Universal, I thought this area of the park was cute. Remember to look up and about to see the little details such as Sideshow Bob escaping from the penitentiary, and Nelson fishing from the second floor police station window. Peer into the first floor window of the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant... go ahead and press the red button if you dare! Great selfie taking spots: Springfield road sign. Statue of Chief Wiggum and his police car in front of Lard Lad donuts. Statue on d Millhouse sitting on the bench outside of the Kwik- E-Mart. Statues of Officers Lou and Eddie in front of the police station. They have character meet n greets. Krusty the Clown was around when I was there. Not sure about the food at the eateries. But even if you do not eat at any of them, do yourself a favor and stop in to check out the design details. They have Luigi's, Moe's Tavern, Krusty Burger, Cletus' Chicken Shack, Bumbleman Taco Truck, Duff Brewery, Lard Lad Donuts, and Phineas Q. Butterfat's ice cream parlor. Springfield USA at Universal Studios Hollywood is a Simpsons fan's dream! There is so much to do, see, eat, and experience. You will honestly feel like you're really in the show, the theming is so good in this area. Krusty Burger: In terms of food, my favorite place is Krusty Burger. As far as theme park food goes, it's a very solid choice! Filling, relatively inexpensive, and you get the cool theming with it too. The ordering section looks exactly like the Krusty Burger restaurant you see in The Simpsons. The area where you eat has a little more theming with items you don't see in the show, like a bookcase with fun Simpsons titles on all the books, a Krusty throughout the ages exhibit and more. The burger and fries are pretty standard but not at astronomical theme park prices. I ordered the Krusty Burger to stick with a classic, and it came with tomato, lettuce, cheese, and a secret sauce (similar to Big Mac sauce), as well as a side of steak-style fries. This is also one of the places you can try Duff Beer, so we grabbed a few of those. They said it was a lager brewed especially for Krustyland (and not just a relabeled version of another beer brand), so we were happy to try that. Lard Lad: Another favorite food/treat we had was Lard Lad Donuts! They have giant versions of donuts (like the size of a small pizza, but a donut!), and some small donuts that you can get as a single or four pack. It's a nice quick stop if you want a giant donut (that you will definitely have to share with a few friends), or a dozen regular sized Lard Lad donuts. Moe's Tavern: If you didn't grab a Duff Beer at any of the other places already, you should definitely stop at Moe's Tavern for one (or a second), because the theming is amazing here too, like everywhere else. So this is a good option if you're feeling like a nice drink in an air conditioned (and super well-themed) spot! The exterior looks exactly like it does in the show, and the inside was even better, having tons of fun Simpsons/Moe's memorabilia, like the Love Tester machine, a picture of the Be Sharps barber shop quartet, and a jukebox with a bunch of songs from the show. For drinks at Moe's we got Duff Beer again obviously, and also the Flaming Moe (non alcoholic). The Duff is similar to Heineken in flavor and super cold and refreshing, and the Flaming Moe is citrusy and comes in a little cup (that you got to keep!) with dry ice that makes it flame and smoke. For experiences, there is the Duff Brewery Beer Garden where you can sit outside and have a Duff or other cocktail, or nosh your food from one of the many Springfield eateries. There are also character meetups you can encounter throughout Springfield. We saw Sideshow Bob and snapped a pic with him, including the classic villainous tented fingers! And finally, the one "ride" in Springfield - the Simpsons Ride. I was super excited for this, as I had been a huge fan of the rest of the Springfield area, but it was a bit of a letdown for me. It's a 3D motion simulator, and I found out for the first time on this ride that those make me queasy, so be careful about that. The screen you look at during the experience is a giant IMAX screen, and (at least the spots we were in) the screen is pretty close to you. Because of this, you have to crane your neck a ton to see everything going on in the experience. So I left with a queasy stomach, neck ache, and headache from craning my neck so much. The theming is amazing and the technology of the ride is super cool. I just wish it didn't bang me up so bad in the actual execution. With that one hiccup of not enjoying the ride aspect, I still give the whole Springfield area a 10/10 for the theming, food/drinks, and overall experience of so many fun things to please this huge Simpsons fan! read more

They really did this park justice. It has all the hallmarks of a good theme park. Right down to the Kwik EMart, and of course, Krusty Burger. I really like the bright decor that matches the Springfield theme. You can grab a Lard Lad doughnut, drink a flaming Moe (for real, it is flaming with dry ice), and get your Duff beer on. They even have fun games here where you can win stuffed animals like Santa's Little Helper, or my personal favorite a large stuffer Duff Beer. Dooh Not only can you watch the Simpson's on Disney plus, you can visit the city here in Universal. Just like Wizarding World of Harry Potter, this place is amazing. From trying to escape from Eddie and Lou in front of the precinct, to seeing Abu at E-Mart to catching a glimpse of the Get your Lard On store selling the famous doughnuts. The place is straight out of the show. I didn't see the nuclear power plate but that's probably a good thing. It's a fun place with games and the small town everyone grew up on watching on tv. You would be hard pressed to find a bigger Simpsons fan than me, maybe an equal but certainly not a bigger fan. Have been into this show since the Tracy Ulman days and when it was brought to Universal Studios (my favorite theme park) I was extremely happy. Simpsons Land captures all that Springfield has to offer and really gives fans of the show something to smile about. Seeing the buildings, hearing the voices played overhead and being able to visit some of the shops really makes you feel as though you are in a live action Springfield in Oregon. Yes, the show is Oregon born and raised, I don't care what anyone says this is an Oregon happening show. Interestingly enough, a little history to start this one off, the Simpsons are from Springfield and the Springfield they are from is actually Springfield, OR. Never knew that the town was based off of the one in OR. Anyway, welcome to Simpsons Land or in my estimation a real life version of Springfield. Vibrant colors everywhere with replicas of many of the iconic town locations. This is where you will find the Simpsons ride along with places to shop and get your Simpsons gear and novelty items. There is even Moes Tavern and a spot to eat where they loop some Simpsons cartoons. Kind of a fun little area dedicated to all things Simpsons. If you are at Universal and plan on going to the lower level (which everyone should) you will have to go right through the center of Simpsons Land. If you are here and the ride line isn't too long - I'd suggest jumping in line - it only gets longer and longer as the day goes on. read more

I've been a diehard Simpsons fan from the very beginning when it was just a short on the Tracy Ulman show. I was so surprised to see so many of the stores and shops come to life. Moe's tavern, Krusty Burger, Lard Lad Donuts, the Kwik E Mart, Duff brewery and Senior Bees food truck, Luigi's Pizzeria. Theres even the love tester in Moe's tavern! I like how they brought food from the show to life. They have Krusty burgers, Duff Beer, duff light, the flaming moe (non alchoholic) Duff energy drinks, the Lard Lad donuts are huge maybe 8 inches? They are like $8 each, there seems to be a long line out side Lard Lad's but you can also buy them in the Kwik E Mart, not sure if the ones from the donut shop are fresher or not. I wish i would have tried either Krusty Burger or Luigis Pizzeria but i ended up eating at Harry Potter world. I liked the simpsons simulator ride but got a little sick from all the motion, so be prepared with some medication if you get sea sick. I loved all the details in bringing the town of Springfield to life even the things that were just store fronts, like Dr Nick Riverias' office, and Homers work station. This place really brings the show to life! I love the Simpsons growing up and all the attention to detail really makes the guest feel like they are in Springfield. This was my first time visiting and it was so much fun. They play bits and sounds from the show through this section of the park. They have buildings from the show where you can shop and eat like the kwik-e-mart, krusty burger, and luigis pizzeria. I did not eat at any of these places since I brought my own lunch (yes you can bring outside food and drinks to universal!). There is so much to see and so many little details that you just have to go to find out. There are plenty of photo opportunities and the day I went the whole Simpsons family was available for photos! That day was raining on and off so they were located under the roof of the roller coaster off to the side but normally they are in front of the kwik-e-mart. If you collect press pennies you will probably be mad that all the penny machines here charge a dollar! That's right, a whole dollar! One dollar for one penny crazy! Due to that I only got like 2 pennies from the park, they do have penny books available for sale at the stores in the park. I did not get a chance to try the duff beer but they do have it available along with flaming moes in one of the local restaurants. Very well done. You can finally visit all the places that have become so familiar from the Simpsons. Having watched The Simpsons for years and years, it really felt like the show came alive. Although a little bit of a mystery why they didn't include the Simpsons' home somewhere. Definitely check out the Kwik E Mart, as they have some cool Simpsons merch that I've never seen anywhere else. Moe's Tavern has Duff Beer and Flamin' Moes, which are basically Orange Soda with dry ice. Krusty Burgers are available at Krusty Burger. Tip: Lard Lad sells oversized donuts, in about 6 different flavors, including Smores, and the classic pink with sprinkles. They were sold out of donuts by the end of the day. They have chocolate donuts boxed up and ready to sell at a concession cart near the escalators, and in the Kwik E Mart (both baked daily), but they were also sold out by the evening. read more

"Whoo-hoo!" - said in my best Homer J. Simpson voice. Anyone who is a fan of The Simpsons will probably react as I do whenever visiting Simpsons Land - with unabashed joy. Seriously, the smile didn't leave my face the whole time we were in SL. Universal Studios Hollywood did one heck of a job with the theming in this area. I honestly felt like I had walked into the cartoon. Practically all the characters, landmarks, and inside jokes were well represented. From the main characters that you'd expect - the entire Simpson family, Krusty the Clown, Chief Wiggum, Barney, Sideshow Bob Terwilliger, to the lesser knowns - Disco Stu, Dr. Nick Riviera, and Cletus the slack jawed yokel, they were all there on billboards or as larger than life figures. If the decor alone wasn't enough (and seriously, that would have been enough...it really is that incredible) they have Simpsons music playing on speakers throughout the area, and not just the main theme song - many of the outros to the series, the "Spider Pig" song from the movie, and many originals from various episodes (like the song Bart and Lisa sing when drawing up their list of requirements for a nanny in the Shary Bobbins ep. Yes, I am a huge Simpsons nerd. #sorrynotsorry). SL has some food options that also fit into the theme. From Phineas Q. Butterfat's Ice Cream Parlor, Bumblebee Man's Taco Truck, Moe's Tavern (they actually sell Flaming Moe drinks here!), Cletus' Chicken Shack, Luigi's Italian resto, to snacks and drinks at the Kwik-E-Mart's Kwik-E-Kart). We didn't try any on this visit, but I was eyeing the fried chix at Cletus' shack....next time for sure. They have characters at different spots in SL to pose for pictures with guests. I like that the Sideshow Bob character went all "method" and acted like he was trying to steal women's purses as they passed. If moving characters aren't your thing, have no fear as there are large character statues all around for the perfect selfie. Every so often a loud siren would blare and these metal barrels of "nuclear waste" would rattle LOUDLY and shake as it was a pretend nuclear meltdown at Springfield's nuclear plant. Tip: there's a large red button near the window where you can see Homer's desk at the plant. Push it and you trigger another meltdown. Neat! There are also a variety of carnival type games that you can pay to play and win Simpsons themed stuffies. I was lucky enough that my hubs and son managed to win at the ball toss game and got a "Blinkie" (the 3-eyed fish from Springfield who is mutated b/c of the nuclear waste) stuffed animal. I could go on gushing at how awesome this area is, but I won't torture you any further. Just do yourself a favor and visit SL the next time you happen to be at Univ Studios...heck, just go to US specifically to check this place out! It's worth it, I promise. read more

This is definitely one of the parts of the park that nailed the theming after the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and the Despicable Me area. I like how there are character meet and greets with the Simpson family and even Sideshow Bob. The restaurants are well themed too and I liked how Cletus' restaurant has tv screens that show different clips of the Simpsons. The Lard Boy donuts are really good no matter, which one you get, but we do love the pink donut and the maple bacon one both big and small. Simpson's Land may look all bright and colorful with 2-d pictures and simple shading, but it is more geared for adults and teens rather than kids. Universal did a pretty good job bringing the series to life. There are mature jokes, giant donuts, and beer at every corner. The waits for the lines are great, with cartoon shorts, and props. They accidentally had us in the room for one of the rides, and then changed their minds (doh), but sent us back with bags full of Jelly Bellies. Don't mind if I do. The 3-d looks a little off, but they look way better than the animatronics at California Adventure of the princesses. (shiver) read more

Everytime we come to Universal, we will end up eating lunch at one of the eateries in this land. Krusty burger has decent burgers, and we've also tried Bumble Been Man's for their nachos. We recently went on the Simpsons ride, which is a simulated roller coaster, and quite fun! I was yelling thru the entire ride, and it seemed pretty long. We went on a weekday recently and the line was only 20 minutes long - so great. We also get to take photos with Krusty, Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, and Sideshow Bob! read more

I LOVE The Simpsons. If I'm ever bored at home, I fire up the FXX app and watch endless hours of reruns to curb any boredom. Simpson's land at Universal Studios was always something that I wanted to experience, and since I had a free day in SoCal, I decided to get tickets to Universal Studios and make my way through a Spring Break crowd. Although the park was extremely crowded, I was still ecstatic. I was not disappointed with my experience. I took it all in and rode the Simpsons ride, ate at The Krusty Burger, drank delicious Duff beer at Moe's and the beer garden, ate chicken strips at Cletus's chicken shack, embarrassed myself with my results at some of the carnival games at Krusty Land and topped it off with a doughnut from the Kwik E Mart that was so big, that I easily needed a 12 hour nap after eating the whole pink thing by myself. If you are a fan of the Simpsons, then this experience is a must. I usually hate crowds and cackling kids, but I didn't even think about either while taking in the park. read more

If you are a Simpsons fan this is a fun area to hangout in you get all the places you see on the show like Moe's , the Kwiki Mart, Krusty Burgers, Duff Beer etc. the Simpsons ride is also a fun ride as well since I been on it before we didn't ride it this time. First timers I recommend riding it. You also have all your favorite characters statue form by all the areas of the stores or restaurants. The Simpsons Ride is a must. Mascots run around from time to time. Bart and Lisa are a staple, but you'll see others. All the stores and restaurants are a pain when it comes to prices. I know the love/nostalgia is strong, but choose wisely. A Duff Beer and a Krusty Burger are novel but honestly mediocre. Though I've not eaten everything, it's basic cable and yet overpriced a lot. At krustys burgers, the burger meat was way TOO salty. The pickles taste like cucumbers. We ordered 8 drinks but only got 5. There should only should be 1 type of brand of ketchup but there was 2, I was staring at them to see which one I should choose. The hot dog was cold, also WAY TOO salty. The fries were TOO thick, and need more flavor. There was random toothpicks(SOMEONE COULD DIE) almost happened to my friend, it poked her top of her mouth. Costco has better food than this. The cashier gave me a side-eye when asked for a side drink. The cheese is fake. There is way TOO MUCH graffiti, looks ghetto and ratchet. There is also nudity in their pictures.
