We had a good time at Universal but I think a lot of things could have been better. First off and this is on me but I didn't realize they had on/off seasons and close pretty early on off season. They closed at 7pm the day we went. General parking is $40 and preferred parking is $60. We paid the extra $20 because the guy at the booth showed how much closer it got us. He didn't lie either. Parking was right outside the shops for us! There's lots of shops and places to eat outside the park. The employees we encountered were super nice. There's SO much to look at. It's worth it to download their app to check the map and wait times for all the rides. It's worth it to get the fast pass as well which is $100 per ticket which is the same price at all other big parks. The butterbeer was my favorite part haha. I'm still craving another. We would definitely come back and come first thing when they open. There is so much to see and do! read more

We visited Universal Studios Hollywood primarily to attend Halloween Horror Night. We wanted to do a comparison of Hhn and Knots Scary Farm, which we did the night before. During the daytime, the park was fun. We've been here several times, and almost everything was the same, with the exception of the fantastic new roller coaster, Fast and the Furious. This may be one of the best coasters I've ever been on, and definitely one of the most intense. We saw many people getting out of line as they saw what was in their future if they got on this coaster! Halloween Horror Nights at Universal studio really give me mixed feelings. The truth is that if you do not pay the extra $200-ish dollars for the express pass in addition to your $85 ticket, you are going to spend the majority of night standing in lines surrounded by tons of other people standing in lines. HHN is crowded and the houses are so spread out that you'll also spend a lot of time walking from area to area. Because Universal Studios is located on a hill, there's a lot of riding escalators up and down, and the H Lot, which has two houses, is a longgg walk down a reasonably steep Hill. Of course that means it's also a long walk up as step Hill to get back. The houses themselves are done well. This year my favorite houses were three house that was a tribute to Ozzy Osbourne, the quinceanera themed house, and the house based on the movie Sinners. The sinner's house even had a flying Remmick, which was super cool. They had some less exciting houses including another year of Stranger Things (yawn). One of the things that I think works against Universal Studios is the sheer size of it compared to a place like Knott's Berry farms who also does Halloween nights. There are "scare zones," areas where scare actors walk around in costume interacting with guests. Basically, except for a few different colored lights, the scary zones at Universal Studios Hollywood are spread out and it really just feels like walking through the theme park on any other night with an occasional saw wielding maniac. I am a bonafide Halloween freak, but I have not come here every year, and I don't see that in my future either. To do it right, it's just too expensive for the payoff. Visited Universal Studios Hollywood on a Friday for Grad Bash. We had an amazing time. I was fortunate enough to be one of the parent chaperones for my child's school. This day was specifically for Grad Bash therefore Universal Studios was not congested and the wait times on attractions and rides were not too long. Staff at Universal Studios were helpful and courteous. The longest wait time we had which was not even that long was the tram. We waited about 10-15 minutes for the tram. We also had to stop thrice since our tram broke down and we had to wait for the replacement tram to arrive. We saw several attractions and went on several rides. It was a breeze for us. I has been YEARS AND YEARS AND YEARS since my last visit to Universal Studios Hollywood. Back then, there was only talk and whispers about Minion Land being planned. I know, I know... it's really been that long for me. So with my kinder graduate just finishing up the school year, her father and I decided to kick off Summer and congratulate her with a first visit to Universal Studios Hollywood. This was the perfect place for her since she has always been a fan of Super Mario, she enjoys The Secret Life of Pets, and was slowly getting her feet wet with familiarizing herself with Despicable Me's Minions. The park in itself was big but not overly big- if that makes sense. Unlike Disneyland, you can more or less comfortably explore Universal Studios Hollywood in a day. Lines are not excessively long depending on the attraction and timing is everything. Coming here with a toddler was extremely doable. Being that she is a thrill seeker, my child enjoyed quite a number or rides. We will be coming back and hope she will officially be tall enough for the REVENGE OF THE MUMMY and HARRY POTTER AND THE FORBIDDEN JOURNEY. 3.5 stars in my eyes. I'm not a fan of all the simulated attractions. Chalk it up to old age if you want but i'm not interested in spending money to make myself sick. LMAO. read more

This was our first time visiting this Universal Studio. I bought tickets few months ahead with the promo of second day entry for free. They had 3 different tiers of parking (general $40, Preferred $60 and Front Gate $80). On the first day we picked the Front gate parking which was literally in front of the entrance gate. They also handed out fruit snack and water in the front gate parking lot. The security and ticket check process was super quick. We went straight to the Super Nintendo world, which was about 10 minutes walk. Nintendo world was by far the most popular part of the park. We spent few hours here. Then we took the ride in Jurassic Park, the Transformers and the Mummy returns. There were plenty of shops, restaurants and food stalls were available. After we were done with the lower part of the park, we went back to the top half where they had the Simpsons, the Minions, Harry Porter Wizard Park and the most popular Fast and Furious roller coaster. Each of these sections also had shops and restaurants matching the food and merchandises. The lines were long for most of the rides, at least more than 20 minutes for most of the popular rides. We bought the Express Lane passes that allowed us to get into each ride once skipping the regular line. We were able to get on all the rides in the park within the day. The park had mist sprays all around. There were many opportunities of characters meetup like Hello Kitty, Mario, Luigi, Peach, T-rex, Optimus Prime. Megatron, Bumble Bee, and Scooby Doo gang. We used the Universal App the check their appearance time and location. Staff members all around the park were friendly and helpful. We returned to the park for the free second day but only spend half day, mostly at the Super Nintendo park since my daughter loved it so much, she wanted to play all the games again to score coins. This time we picked the general parking which is about 10 minutes walk from the lot, through the Universal City Walk. read more

I LOVVVVEEE Universal Studios Hollywood!! I go pretty often and have the Gold Pass, and I seriously love coming here! Today I finally got to try the new Fast & Furious roller coaster and WOW, it was epic and so much fun!! I really hope Universal continues adding more new rides because I do feel like some of the rides are getting a little outdated. I definitely wish there were more rides overall, but the new roller coaster is such a great addition! I also love how they now check your bags before entering CityWalk. It's fun if you are willing to spend the money because the Ticket is $110, fast pass is $150. Parking is $40-80 depends on where you park. On a family of 4, you will be spending 1K just to enter the park. But I have to say the fast pass is worth it. I get to go on all the rides with minimum wait. Nintendo world is a big hit for my daughter. She enjoys collecting coins and keys with power up wristband. I love the rides. I love to see the decorations, the animations, the simulations they put in. Also the thrill of fast speed and small drops. Picture with characters is a must. You can see the characters timetable on the app. The app also allows you to track the wait time, order food ahead and make reservations. Staff are friendly. Bathrooms are clean. The whole park is clean. Merchandise is good. I had a great time. I wish they have more mist fans along the park to cool down visitors. read more

This review is for Halloween Horror Nights '26. They have a lot to offer this year including amazing houses like Ozzy, Sinners, and Dead Deader Deadest. There are fun and creepy scare zones. This year there are even death eaters in the WWHP. There are themed bars and restaurants with foods from your favorite IPs. Unfortunately as with every year, lines get quite long. Early Entry, Express, or RIP are needed to truly have a good time. Otherwise you'll be waiting. Go on a weekday in September for a chance at shorter wait times. Universal studios Hollywood is a great experience for locals and beyond. I became an annual pass holder last year because they offer a discounted socal resident pass and it's such a good deal compared to other parks. (You basically get an annual pass for the price of 1 day) Of course, with many block out dates however if you use the pass at least twice you already got a deal. The park is pretty small, but for someone that can get overwhelmed by crowds this is fine because I can get to where I want to go quicker. The only annoying part are the stairs/escalators so many of them so you waste a lot of time there. And the recent price increase on parking not sure if they do dynamic pricing or it's due to the recent renovations, but I went last year and paid $30 then a few weeks ago it was $40. That's so expensive and annoying. Needless to say It's still more affordable than other places and I love the minions/simpsons land so ill be back :) read more

I came here often as a child, and I remember having so much fun here, especially when Nickelodeon was ingrained here. It was every 90s child's dream! But I feel like we could all relate that the magic of Universal Studios left when Nickelodeon stopped being a part of Universal. All of the magic that made it special was just gone. That was until they secured a contract with Nintendo and Super Mario Land came along in 2021. I was looking at it on TikTok around this time last year and was saying, "Man, I wish I could go there." Then I realized that I'm grown and started planning part of my summer vacation there! Pro tip: Absolutely pay the extra money to get into Super Mario World early. The short line for "Mario Kart: Bowser's Challenge" is worth it alone! I only waited 15 minutes, and once the park opened, it immediately went to 80 minutes. Also, it's worth mentioning that you ride a set of steep escalators down into Super Mario World at the edge of the park, and seeing all that gorgeous architecture on the ride down for the first time is literally breathtaking. My inner child was so happy and almost shed a tear. They really put a lot of attention to detail into this part of Universal Studios. Also, definitely get a Power Band and connect it to the Universal app. Although it's a steep extra $40, they make the park more interactive and give you access to the Bowser Jr. Boss Fight Game/Ride. Also, who doesn't want to be able to hit the iconic Power Blocks just like Mario? I'm mad at myself that I didn't get a picture. Also, all of the Mario character meet and greets were so awesome. My friend and I also secured reservations at Toadstool Café. I'll write about that in a separate review. Once we were done with all the oohs and aahs of Super Mario World, we explored everywhere else. I loved the Mummy Ride, Secret Life of Pets Ride, the iconic Universal Studios Tram Tour, amongst other things. We also met Homer and Marge Simpson, Beetlejuice, and Hello Kitty. All in all, this was one of the best days of my life, no exaggeration. Universal Studios got its magic back, baby! P.S. 3.5/5 It's been a long time since I've been to Universal Studios so it was like a brand new experience when we came here with the kiddo. We got here right at opening on a Saturday and there wasn't really a line for any of the Harry Potter rides but as the day wore on the wait times grew to be really long. For the most part we skipped any long lines which meant we didn't go on all the rides but the ones we went on were worth the short(ish) wait. Note that if this is your first time here, most of the rides are screen based so if you get motion sick on simulated motion screens take a motion sickness pill before riding to mitigate any ill effects. My favorite ride was probably Harry Potter and the forbidden journey, followed by The Secret Life of Pets. They do offer skip-the-line passes/Express Pass but they are quite expensive. When I checked they were almost the same price as a regular admission ticket. There are two levels to this amusement park and it takes a long time to ride the multiple eacalators from one level to another so a good strategy would be to do everything you want to do on one level before moving to the other. When we went in the summer they had a large splash area in the Minion themed area which looked really fun. Note that you need to wear shoes to enter the water area so bring your own water shoes or flip flops if you don't want to buy the Universal Studios shoes for sale. For any rides where purses or backpacks aren't allowed they do have lockers you can temporarily stash your belongings in. The ones in the Harry Potter ride area are very narrow though! read more

Ten years ago, when I was working in the travel industry, I visited Universal Studios Hollywood more than 20 times a year. Because of that, I've always had a special connection with this place and many great memories here. Compared with Disneyland, I've always preferred Universal Studios a little more. While many amusement parks focus heavily on roller coasters and intense rides that can leave you dizzy, Universal Studios offers more attractions built around movie themes, including immersive 3D and 4D experiences. Personally, I feel this style of entertainment is more enjoyable for adults. This year, I finally came back again, and I was surprised by how much has changed over the past few years. The new Fast & Furious roller coaster has just been completed and is currently undergoing testing. Watching all those crazy twists, turns, drops, combined with the G-forces and centrifugal force... I personally decided that I'm definitely NOT brave enough to ride it. Haha! Then there's SUPER NINTENDO WORLD, which opened a few years ago. I highly recommend getting the Power-Up Band. It lets you interact with different activities and challenges throughout the park and basically doubles the fun of the entire experience. Mario Kart has also taken the theme-park experience to another level. It feels almost like playing a real-life video game, complete with challenges, scoring, and leaderboards showing the highest scores of the day and month. It definitely gives people a reason to come back and keep trying to beat their previous scores. In the past, whenever I brought guests here, I would simply accompany them around the park and enjoy the attractions with them. This time, however, I decided to buy a VIP Experience ticket. It costs about two to three times more than a regular ticket, but personally, I think it was absolutely worth it. Our English-speaking tour guide took us around on a private tour vehicle and explained everything in great detail. We were also able to get off the vehicle and actually walk through areas of the working studio lot. We even had the opportunity to visit the prop department. Seeing all those familiar items from older movies brought back so many memories. The VIP pass also allows you to skip the regular lines for attractions, which makes a huge difference. Whenever you get thirsty, you can return to the VIP dining area to grab some water. The VIP restrooms are also very clean and private. On top of that, the package includes brunch and complimentary valet parking. For me, the VIP Experience was absolutely worth the extra cost. I had previously bought a Harry Potter robe, but unfortunately, my cat managed to destroy it. So this time, I bought another one--and went a step further by having my own name embroidered on the robe. I also bought myself Dumbledore's Elder Wand. The wand isn't just something nice to display. You can actually use it to perform interactive spells throughout the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Knowing that I can use these interactive wands at Harry Potter attractions around the world suddenly gave me the urge to visit every Universal Studios park worldwide someday. Overall, I know Universal Studios Hollywood has been around for a long time, but somehow I still discover something new every time I visit. Even though I used to come here constantly, returning after all these years still brought back so many wonderful memories while giving me completely new experiences at the same time. Universal Studio is not overwhelmingly too big, so it's perfect to come with kids or the elders. We normally do two day pass with express tickets, going back to the hotel napping and returning in the evening. You can return on the same day without purchasing another parking. Some information for you: Parking $40 general area. $10 after 5pm. If you come just for the cinema, you can get the movies tickets to deduct the cost. There are 2 Express passes: unlimited for all rides or one time each ride. But no matter which pass you get, it doesn't really help for the newly opened Fast and Furious ride. Even with the express pass, you still need to wait in line u see the sunlight to get to the entrance, from there, you can get express access. But the wait before that is hours. Our favorite rides: Harry Potter Transformers Jurassic Park Mario ride is shooting game on the cart, a bit boring but the whole entire Mario world is just so colorful, brilliant and fun to stay. You can get the souvenir cup which gives you all day free refills, even with slushy. But only one or two cafe has slushy. You can fill the drinks at the machines. Best dining option is the bbq at Harry Potter. And of course you can't skip the famous butter beer, according to the staff, the slushy butter beer is the best, and we agree with it. My family and I visited Universal Studios Hollywood while on vacation in late May. My husband bought tickets for us when we got there. He got us a two day pass. It was a deal where you buy a day and get the second day free. We liked that you could choose the two days and it didn't have to be consecutive. The person at the booth that sold us the tickets was friendly and helpful. The theme park has several levels. You can ride the escalators to go up and down each level or walk the stairs. While in the theme park we spent time on each level enjoying the rides and the food. There were lines but the lines moved at a decent pace. The indoor rides were nice as they had air conditioning. The theming in each area was great. It was very immersive. It can be loud with all of the people but if you take ear plugs that can help with the sound. Most of the rides are family friendly but some are more intense rollercoasters. Overall spending time at Universal Studios was a lot of fun. The themes are bright and fun. The rides are family friendly with some being a little more intense. Everyone that worked there was friendly and it was easy to get around. It was a very positive and enjoyable experience. read more

I've been here twice now and would say I enjoyed them. The second time around was way more enjoyable to me than the first time. We recently went here mid May for their fan fest nights. We got the "early bird" ticket where we can enter the park starting at 2 pm. The fan fest night starts at 7 pm so we got to enter early to enjoy the park along with the public before the rest of the fan fest ticket holders. This experience was great and I would do it again. In between the transition, there was barely any wait for the most popular rides and I never waited more than 15 minutes for rides that normally would take 2 hours. They are building the fast and furious: Hollywood Drift ride here, which is a new roller coaster. It's supposed to open summer 2026, so we just missed it's opening. For fan fest, they had the Harry Potter theme, one piece, Mario/Nintendo theme, and a few others. The concept was pretty good and Nintendo Land had Mario characters, including Yoshi's, Mario, Luigi and toad. I didn't get to enjoy the one piece themed foods since we brought lunch in from the outside. Hogsmeade had a scavenger hunt also, but we did not participate. The butter beer always hits, and one of my faves. It's like cream soda on steroids. The rest of the park was normal. I liked walking around at night with less of a crowd. Best part was I did not have a panic attack this time. I also bought a robe, which I look forward to using. read more

I have lived in southern California for over 10 years and I had never visited Universal Studios in Hollywood. My boyfriend could not believe it and he said we had to go. He decided to buy tickets with the early access and I cannot believe I woke up so early on a Saturday to be there on time. My boyfriend also decided to buy the fast pass. We literally made it there before they open for early access. If you have a handicap placard, you are able to park in the Premium parking at the front in their handicap spots without having to pay extra. That is an awesome incentive to get there early! There was a line to get in, but once they open, it started moving quick. With the early axis you get access to the Nintendo world so you need to walk all the way to the back and take the escalators down. That is the only time in the day that we saw that land, not being extremely crowded. We were able to ride an Nintendo rides without even using the fast pass because there was no line. We explored the whole park including the tour. We were done around 4pm with everything. It was definitely a long day but it was very fun. I would highly suggest sunscreen, water and enjoying the time there. The only thing we noticed is that there are not that many food options that aren't unhealthy or fatty and there weren't many shaded spots to sit at. They do have beer at multiple locations. Universal Studios Hollywood has seriously stepped up its game over the past several years, and every visit seems to give me another reason to come back. There's something uniquely fun about wandering through a theme park where movies are literally being made nearby, and the park does a great job of leaning into that Hollywood magic. The Studio Tour is still a must for me because it's never quite the same experience twice, while rides like Revenge of the Mummy bring the thrills and Transformers and Jurassic World completely pull you into their worlds. I also appreciate how much the park has improved its open spaces and overall atmosphere. It may not be the biggest theme park in Southern California, but it packs a lot into its hillside and makes a day of pretending you're part of the movies ridiculously easy. read more

The staff runs this place like the military; they got everything organized to a T. The first area my group (4 young adult women) went to upon getting there around opening time was the Super Mario world. My friends are way bigger fans of that whole world than me. I had my phase of Mario Kart when I was 8-10 years old, but that was it. They kept the Mario kart ride moving smoothly; the ride said 45 minutes but I feel like the time went by faster as we were always moving in a perpetual fashion. It was a fun ride; my only complaint was that I wish it was moving on the track faster. We were stagnant at several points waiting for the cart to continue moving. I also was shooting at everything I saw the entire time AND moving along the track with my friend next to me and then end up getting LITERALLY 0 COINS at the end like what?? Anyway, we didn't spend all day at the park since we had other obligations in the evening, but I feel like the amount of activities we did, it was not worth the $150 ticket plus $40 in parking. But that's how any amusement park is nowadays, so can't really complain I guess. The outside shopping section outside of the actual park was really neat; a lot of niche shops ranging from an autograph place to Sephora (so ANY mall-esque store you could think of). All of the food and beverages we tried, such as the cone Mac & cheese and the Mario sodas were pretty good, just pricey, as usual. ONE of the LAST AUTHENTIC THEME PARKS! Unlike Disneyland who has sold out and chosen the way of corporate greed, Universal hasn't lost its admiration for its fans/patrons. Universal isn't cheap, by far. However, it's not gut-wrenchingly expensive and is high-quality when it comes to attractions and entertainment. Most of my thoughts during this visit are surrounding FanFest so I'll add the details on THAT review later. Overall, my experience was amazing. The decorations, friendly service, and sheer awe of being in a movie studio while also enjoying rides is something unique to behold. The theme park was transformed for FanFest and here's to hoping it gets even better next year! The park wasn't deathly crowded, we got to enjoy our evening and reflect on how big USH has gotten. The merch was absolutely fantastic, I was so tempted to buy the whole store at some of the shops. I'm a huge movie/pop culture fan! I noticed the park was clean and still carries a retro Hollywood flair. I'd highly recommend visiting, I'm even thinking of getting a pass! Parking was meh, it's pricey but we felt our car was safe in the lot. Note, the parking garages are quite a walk away as you have to cross through CityWalk to make it back to base. read more

29Sept.2026: There are pros & cons to this park. Tour: The back-lot tour was interesting, but there were the same displays from over a decade ago mixed in with a few new displays. There was active filming, but you can't see much from the road. The tour trailers squeeze 6 people per row which is too many for the space provided - it should be 5 to be comfortable. I had to lean forward most of the tour. The theme park was highly detailed. We were very impressed with the Harry Potter area. We tried the Butterbeer which is not beer. It taste like overly sweet cream soda, overpriced at $11/ea.! We were surprised at the lack of benches. If you're with older people, they need somewhere to sit down. City Walk has the same issue. Rides: Most have highly detailed visual affects. However the rides had glitches. We were on the Harry Potter ride and it shutdown mid-way for no explanation. Prices: The biggest issue is the price point (value) including parking and entrance. We bought discount tickets however they were still over $100 per person! This is not a big park, but the prices are just under what Disneyland charges which is much bigger. Lunch was $40 for two people. Parking: There are two parking options, general is $40 or preferred for $60 which are ridiculous prices! They are taking advantage since no other options unless you park outside which is metered city parking. Hours of operation: As other's have mentioned the park is only open for 8 hours. If you want to see everything it is not enough time with long wait times. Unless someone is wealthy, I don't think I would recommend USH. Who doesn't feel like a kid again when you enter Universal Studios Hollywood! What a fantastic couple of days riding thrill rides and kid friendly rides. I love the park, they have many times when you can have your picture with characters and autograph your books. Many places to eat, even Starbucks! We had a Nathan's hot dog one day and a breakfast sandwich at Starbucks! We had a few beers, be prepared to pay almost double for everything! You can ask anyone for a cup of water which is complementary and it sure tasted good on a hot day! My favorite ride was Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey and Transformers!! You must see the Water World Show we saw it twice! It's so good!! The new fast and furious rollercoaster was up and running ...doing testing prior to show time in the summer of 2026! It looks like a good one! The cars go sideways on the track! You've got to love technology!! It's been over 20 years since I've been here! Attended Universal Studios Hollywood Grad bash 2026. I absolutely loved the chaperone portion of this event at Universal Studios. We were treated very well in my opinion. We were given tickets to enter the park all day. Free parking and a meal voucher to use uncertain foods throughout the park. We had choices, which was very nice. The chaperone lounges were stocked with drinks, snacks, and coffee to use starting at 7 PM. They also had massage chair chairs that you could sign up for in the lounges. The park had a lot of fun Rides, shows an events for dancing. It was the perfect day if you wanted to go and relax or join in on all the fun. I highly recommend grad bash for any high school looking for a place for their seniors to celebrate. read more

My family and I came here on a Sunday, haven't been back at Universal Studios for a couple years. I was so excited to go back. It was a very hot day, I brought my personal fan and the misting fans around the park were also helpful. We had the express pass. Lines went by pretty quick. We got to ride the Mario Kart, Revenge of the Mummy, Transformers 3D, Jurassic World, and Studio Tour. My nephews favorite were the Mario Kart, I thought it was ok. I really enjoyed Jurassic World. The King Kong 360 Studio Tour is always cool. Jaws was being renovated, I always liked that one too. The new ride Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift looks really scary. We couldn't ride it since it was only reserved for registered pass members during the time we went. I ordered a digital copy of our action shots on The Revenge of the Mummy and Jurassic World, those were about $22 each. We also enjoyed WaterWorld, so entertaining, cool stunts with explosive effects. My nephews got soaked by the jet skis even though we were sitting at the area that we won't get wet. It was a fun time, definitely need to go back more often, maybe when the weather is cooler too. read more

This is the 2nd time I've witnessed unsanitary food handling by the staff working at food windows. They will accept cash payments and with the same gloves, dig their hands into the food being assembled.. It seems like they are protecting their hands rather than the food. Also, the single rider line at the Fast & Furious ride is merely a suggestion, because the employees allow all the couples in the single rider line to ride together, which slows down ride operations and is just unfair to people in general line!!! read more

Wow. It has been almost twenty years since I last went to Universal Studios Hollywood with my family. So much has changed but in the best way possible. One fact that stood out to me was how there are two levels and one of them requires a few escalators to get to. The bottom lot holds the Mummy Ride, Jurassic Park Ride, Transformers, and Super Mario Kart. The top lot holds a few more of the family friendly rides including Simpsons Land (this is a focal point to find the bottom lot), Secret Life of Pets, Minions, etc. There is an upgraded feature called the Universal Express pass and you can either take advantage of the unlimited feature or enjoy each ride one time. Grab a beer at Moe's inside Simpson's Land and I really enjoyed my time at Diagon Alley. If you're looking for a free locker during your rides, a few of them offer it! read more

Came here on my kid's birthday since he wanted to go to SNW. We got the early access but only got to enjoy 20 minutes of the hour due to arriving after 8am. We tried to get there at 7:30am but we were running late. We were able to ride bowser 3 times in a row so that was good. Then we did 2 rounds of going to the different parts of the world interacting with our power bands which was fun. It was super hot the day we went, basically 100 degrees. We got wet at the Jurassic Park ride, which I liked the best. Then went on transformers which was also cool then the mummy. These are all the rides on the lower level. We went to the top level to do attractions and this is where the fun ends lol they are not that great. We went on Simpson ride, kung fu panda movie, pets ride and I think that's it. We were ready to go back home because the heat was unbearable and I didn't want to stay and have dinner there either. It was too hot to check out water world, Hollywood tour, and Harry Potter. Since we purchased the buy one get 2nd day free. We will come back and do the ones we missed during thanksgiving break when the weather is more tolerable. We won't be back for at least a year and that is only because my grandson will forget the horrid lines, no care of the handicapped and again, long lines. 1.5 hours for one 2 minute ride. It is expensive, parking is outrageous. The place is very pretty, but there is no where to sit and catch your breath. The show we saw was great. It is called Water Works and my grandson loved it. He also loved the few rides he could get on, waiting more than 1.5 hours for some. I think you can pay for a pass that gets you on a ride faster, but we are not rich. The food served there is very good and all enjoyed it. The stores are so expensive, no thanks. The staff is nice and they try to do a good job and I thank them for that. They also changed the hours on us at the last minute. I bought the tickets and read the hours. But they put up some event cutting us out of several hours. That is not okay. Visited Universal Studios with our youngest. The lines are always so long. It makes fast pass a necessity, but I also wonder how can the better the line system. In our 8 hour day, we were able to ride about 7 rides, we stood in line longer than the rides themselves. I appreciate the map system and the app that shows me where the rides are and the wait times, but I don't think we will go again. It's super expensive and the few rides you can ride seems not worth it to me. But we handle great memories so, that's that. read more

I'm writing about Security Officer Badge #33741 and what happened to me entering Universal. My wife and I came to the park SO excited. We never do scary parks, so this was supposed to be a really fun night for us. She walked through security with no issue, I beeped, and from that moment I felt like I was treated like I was some kind of criminal. I had absolutely no problem being searched. They wanded me front and back, had me spread my legs, and my chest kept setting it off. I explained that I have piercings, but that apparently wasn't enough. Then this male security officer who was watching just me the whole time stepped in and it just kept escalating. Now HE NEEDSD TO CHECK. I was moved over to the side, wanded AGAIN, surrounded by multiple male security officers, and then they brought a K9 over to search me. I was even told to squat down for the dog. This was all happening out in the open, in front of my wife and hundreds of people. Not ONE woman was there helping with this search and there was no private area offered to me. It was humiliating. At one point I literally unbuckled my pants and lifted my shirt to show them I wasn't hiding anything. That's when an old weed pen fell out of my back pocket.....this wasn't even the area that had been setting the wand off. Check the cameras. I understand that I can't bring that into the park. Throw it away. Confiscate it. I would have happily done that. But this officer repeatedly told me he was looking for "weapons or alcohol." I had neither. After ALL of that, instead of just taking the pen, they kicked both me and my wife off the property and accused me of "lying." That honestly was the part that pushed me over the edge. I had just been searched over and over, surrounded by men, searched by a dog and embarrassed in front of hundreds of people. Then to turn around and treat me like I intentionally lied about a weed pen I didn't even realize was in my pocket was ridiculous. I'm not upset that Universal has security. I WANT Universal to have good security. I'm upset about how far this was taken and how I was treated. Please review the security footage because I want someone at Universal to actually see what happened. There has to be a better and more respectful way to handle situations like this, especially when searching a woman. Our night was ruined before we even got into the park. I really hope Universal takes this seriously and makes this right. read more

My first time at Universal Studios Hollywood! Absolute fun. Definitely a place one needs to go to take a break from being an adult. Lol The food and drinks were great. I really enjoyed the Butter Beer in the Harry Potter Universe! The amusement rides and interactions throughout the park were fun. The meal we had while there was a great portion size for the costs. Roughly $25 Per Person. I literally could've stayed in Super Nintendo World for hours punching loot boxes and gaining coin after buying the character power up bands in their gift store. Check it out! Revenge of the Mummy was a great ride! Freaking Jurassic World. So good. You won't leave this ride dry. Thanks Dilophosaurus! Semi spoiler alert: I can't wait until the Fast and Furious ride opens! A 72mph coaster whose individual cars twist and turn as they travel on the track! There are some attractions and entertainment I look forward to going back like checking out WaterWorld, the Raptor Encounter, and expecting more shows. We did take the studio tour which was nice, but I heard they cut a bit of it out and it was shorter that day than was expected. It was cool seeing the sets where movies and TV shows were filmed. All in all, must go for families, couples needing a weekend get away and those who just want to do something different with their summer. Go! You won't regret it. read more

Backstory: I attended Halloween Horror Nights on September 10 using an "After 2 PM ticket". I also used Metro/public transportation. I'm going to elaborate on my experience by category. I'm also lowkey cheap and don't like to spend too much at theme parks. Metro B/Red Line accessibility + shuttles: Perfect. Once you leave the station, you have to cross a bridge that takes you to a shuttle stop that will pick you up and transport you to the parking lot + Universal City for free. If you are unfamiliar, just follow the crowd. I recommend Park & Ride using the train, if possible. Universal City: Mostly shops and restaurants. If you don't want to eat the theme park food, this is where you go before or after your visit. I only go here for the Hot Topic. Entry: Fast and easy, way easier than I anticipated. It is a theme park, not a stadium, so regular Loungefly/Bioworld mini backpacks are allowed and often worn by guests. We had to go through a bag check and then walk through Universal City to the actual theme park gates to go inside. Cleanliness: Very clean. That's all I have to say. No complaints. Crowds: It was a Thursday afternoon, so it wasn't as bad compared to the weekend. There was a good number of people because it's Universal Studios, and it was after 2 PM. Most people came for Horror Nights since the park closes off to daytime guests after a certain time of the day. All I can say is that the cheaper the ticket, the less the crowding, since tickets are priced based on demand, if I am not mistaken. Food: Comparable to most venue and stadium food... I skipped it. Very expensive for the quality and taste. Atmosphere: Hogsmeade is a VIBE and is my favorite area of the park. Super Nintendo World felt like a cash grab, but that's just me, as a lot of people seemed to love it. The other areas of the park did not feel as memorable to me, but I appreciate their artistic design. I did not visit the Minion or Secret Life of Pets areas, as those are more child-oriented. Maybe it would've been more fun if I were younger or went with friends, but I visited as a solo adult, so it hits differently. Rides: The main reason why I came here. I went on a good number of the rides, and I can say that the motion simulators are better than the roller coasters (unless you experience motion sickness). The Mario Kart ride for me was the most disappointing, but it was partially because of a skill issue on my end. I really enjoyed Flight of the Hippogriff, Transformers: The Ride 3D, Jurassic Park Ride, and The Simpsons Ride. Harry Potter and The Forbidden Journey, for me, was the scariest, since I didn't know what to expect beforehand, but it was a trip! Also, when they say that you will get wet on that Jurassic Park Ride, BELIEVE THEM. I was unable to get on the Fast and Furious ride, as that one required a more expensive ticket purchase and is not included in most tickets. Wizarding World of Harry Potter: Peak fiction, but the author had to be hateful. A shame, since my friends and I were Potterheads back in high school, and going there kind of healed my inner teen. I wish the area of the park was larger and more immersive. I am considering buying a cosplay off of Depop, but I am not too sure yet. Definitely go here at night when the stores open up; it's a vibe. Haunted Houses/Horror Nights: I only went on the ones with smaller wait times, and they did not disappoint. The scare actors were a very good jump-scare, but at the same time, I saw them coming. Love the effort they put into the designs, decorations, costumes, and makeup! Will I be coming back?: Yes and no. I do plan to return, but not in the near future. I will probably wait until new things open up, or until I have the disposable income. This was more of a bucket list visit, but I definitely plan to return! read more

There are a good amount of rides and things to do for people of all ages. I had not been here since my senior graduation trip from HS and a lot has changed. For my kids, it was their first time. One of our favorite things was the Studio Tour which has a lot of the old things to see that we saw when we were kids back in the day. We borrowed wands and a Mario bracelet for Super Mario World, but it would be nice if kids who didn't have them could have loaners or rent them. Overall, it was fun, just expensive. read more
