I feel like this changed everything i come. There was no more fast and furious, the bridge, and probably some more stuff. King kong also changed compared to last time. Its also a nice break when youre tired. You sit for about 40-60 minutes and you get to see the places where films are made.

The Artist Formerly Known as the Backlot Tour is now The Studio Tour and one of my favorite things to do at Universal Studios. It's a long tram ride but also does include some fun elements and also a 4D section! When I say long, it's 60 minutes. For theme parks, that's long but I think it's an entertaining hour and I love seeing behind the scenes. Seeing how things work is my jam so I really enjoy all the production you can see while on the tour. Unlike their Orlando location (which hasn't even had a tour since 1995), Universal Studios Hollywood is still a working studio so you will see various shows being filmed (A Happy Place is one), commercials and all sorts of other things are filmed here too. You get to see things and scenes from some of your favorite movies and TV shows, as well. One of the exciting things is Jupiter's Claim set from Jordan Pelle's NOPE! You used to be able to get off the tram here for pics but now they just roll through. You'll also experience a flash flood, an earthquake, Norman Bates may attack from the Psycho House, King Kong 360, the classic Jaws scene and all with Jimmy Fallon guiding you through it. There was a Fast and Furious section but that is now gone. I'm curious if they'll bring it back and it's just a break as the F&F Rollercoaster is being built or if it won't come back for that same reason. There is also an actual guide who adds fun quips and stories. Would you believe this opened in 1915 but back then people just sat in bleachers. The real version opened in 1964 with the trams but that is still incredibly impressive. I love this ride and if you have an hour to spare, I hope you do too~!

Everytime my wife and I comes to Universal Studios Hollywood we always go to the Universal Studios Tram tourist about 45 to close an hour depends there's any movies or TV show are filming in the sound Studios. Through the years the studio add it more attention to the tour. If you are a Jaws attention it still there to scare hell outbof you If you like the studio tour you can repeat again and again.

My favorite attraction at Universal Studios. The backlot tour of movie sets,, cinematic history, giant 3-D simulated battle of Kong and T-Rex and all the props from some of the greatest movies we love are all here to experience and see. As many times as I have jumped on the trolley tram, it is a different ride every time. Jimmy Fallon on monitor screen and the tour guide, adds a few laughs. Always a fun time

I've done this backlot tour so many times. It is always a blast! Getting to see the different sets of shows and movies is awesome. The Psycho House has been part of the studio tour for yearssssssss! I always love standing in front of it and getting a photo! Sometimes there will be someone there dressed up, holding a knife- for photos of course. You will also find The Bates Motel set; although I don't think it is the original one. Still pretty cool to see! Make time for this one! The lines do get line. Worth the wait!

This has always been my favorite ride even as a kid. We used to go to the parks frequently since we always had family visiting and this was the go to park to take them. This ride will always be close to my heart. Love seeing the subtle and sometimes drastic changes over the years. Some of the ones I miss are the bridge drop and water parting. Been on this ride a million times and still enjoy it! It's relaxing especially after a long day of walking at the park. IG: @ammysalamii

The largest studio lot in Hollywood. Over 400 acres of studios, movie props, and full production sets. They have so much space that many film sets are still in place for your viewing experience. Love their animation artwork King Kong, which is visually appealing. The earthquake portion is also a fun experience. I personally love the Jaws film set.

Had a great time! Went on Monday but didn't have to wait too long. I loved going around the backlot and seeing everything there is. My favorite part was the jaws part and learning where they shot certain movies or scenes. Great ride and would definitely recommend!

The Studio Tour, is one of my favorite rides @ Universal Studios, Hollywood. No matter how many times I've been on the Tour, I won't get tired of it. There's always something new or different when I visit. And I seem to see things that I may have missed before. After walking around the park & waiting in lines, it's a real treat to just sit & relax on the Studio Tour. Pass The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, head towards Springfield, make a Right, then make your way to the escalators that take you down to the Studio Tour. FYI's: Studio Tour Ride is approximately 45-60 minutes. (not including wait times) Restrooms can be found near the bottom of escalators. Snack & Beverage Cart available near escalators too. Stroller Parking available. Wait times vary, but areas are shaded. Don't forget to pick up 3D Glasses while waiting in line! You will need them. (Especially for King Kong & The Fast & Furious attraction) Additional Tips: Buy or Bring some snacks & drinks while waiting in line The tram is an open vehicle. Your items may move around, so secure your belongings. Bring a sweater or jacket, especially for the little ones, when riding the tram at night. It can get super chilly. And a fun one, You may get wet!.. Relax, it's splashes of water lols. - You can Join in on the Fun & Celebrate Universal Studios Hollywood: 60TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE STUDIO TOUR Going on APRIL 26 - AUGUST 11, 2024!

***Review on VIP Experience Studio Tour*** With the VIP Experience, we were able to do a slightly different version of the iconic Studio Tour. Through the years, I've enjoyed doing this occasionally as it has some elements that don't change but do add things from time to time. It can be a great way to relax your feet after a long day, and be immersed in the film making process. The drawback is that the length can make it difficult for those who could need the bathroom urgently, and why I don't always do the tour. Though the VIP tour was beyond amazing to allow bathroom breaks, provide bottles of water, etc. If you have the option, I would book the VIP Experience (5 stars) but I would rate the overall tour 4 Stars.

Wow! It has been almost 7 years since I last rode the Studio Tour at Universal Studios Hollywood! Where has the time gone? My husband and I took a trip out to LA. During our trip, we visited Universal Studios Hollywood on a Thursday. Our early access ticket to Super Nintendo World provided us with an express pass onto Studio Tour before 11:00 A.M. We had arrived around 10:45 a.m., but there was no wait line, so we didn't need to use the express pass. Studio Tour is located right next to the Simpson's area. You'll need to go down and escalator to ride the Studio Tour ride. Make sure you come prepared as this ride is a hour long! You can bring snacks on it though! Unfortunately both video screens flickered the entire time, and we couldn't hear the tour guide! She did try to restart the system a few times, but with no luck, most of the video screens kept cutting in and out the entire ride. Some of the feature sets you'll see on this ride include the following Jaw-Dropping Sights - A reenactment of Amity Islands. Jupiter's Claim set from Jordan Peele's Horror Epic, NOPE. This is a new attraction and if you've seen the movie NOPE, it looks exactly like Jupiter's Claim from the movie! King Kong 360 3-D. This is a pretty cool experience which does require the 3D glasses. You may get wet a little bit during this part! It's the exact same ride as the one in Universal Studios Florida, except a lot shorter! Fast & Furious - Supercharged - Another 3D experience which will require the 3D glasses. This is just like the one in Universal Studios Florida as well, but again, a lot shorter. I really enjoyed seeing all of the classic cars and some of the studio exhibits that the Studio Tour drove by! It was great to sit and take a break from walking around, I just wished that the TVs were working!

I thought I was safe with the Studio Tour. I thought I could sit and enjoy a tour around the backlots without worrying about wanting to throw up during a ride. Alas, I was wrong when I saw we had to pick up 3D glasses. I haven't been on the Studio Tour for a while so I still have fond memories of the simulation of the earthquake, King Kong, and lots of fire and water as well as the parting of the red sea plus the bridge collapsing. Sadly all that was gone. They do still have Jaws, Bates Motel, City Hall for Back to the Future as well as War of the World set. They do also have new sets specifically from Nope as well as new cars. Now onto what I couldn't handle...the 3D stuff. They have 3D screen stages which you get to put on 3D glasses see a fight with King Kong, become Fast and Furious, and...well all the simulation and stimulation cannot be handled by this very tired no sleep person who gets really nauseated when in this state. Perhaps in a different situation, I would've been quite enthused, but one ride after another that's 3D with a lot of jarring motion just....I was kind of tired of it. But it was very impressive, just wished I didn't have to try to hold down my stomach. The other let down was they were hyping up this full set of Jupiter Town from Nope and I was hoping for something more impressive when there was this eerie music and the air people stopped blowing but that was it....just a sound byte and it was done. It was kind of a let down. It was also a very quiet tour considering due to the strike so the backlot was just dead. But our tour guide was quite good. I think in a different health state, this would've been a different ride for me. And I understand they're trying to appeal to the newer audience, but it would've been nice to find a ride where I just sat and just enjoyed the view.

The Universal Studios Backlot Tour experience relies 100% on which tour guide you get. While we were waiting for our tour to start, we saw one tour guide who was full of life and already getting into the fun experience with random people waiting to begin, and then another that was on her phone, chewing gum in the corner, and didn't appear to have any interest in the tour she was about to lead. Guess which one we got? LOL My husband and I are huge film nerds, so we were extra excited to do this tour finally. I will say it was a bit of a letdown having a semi-dud of a tour guide, but we did still get to see a lot of cool movie things anyway, and look them up on our phones as we went (there was very little commentary as we passed things). One instance of this was when we were driven down a little pathway through trees and brush, and only as we were leaving, our tour guide told us "Oh by the way, that was the spot with the T-Rex chase in Jurassic Park." (The "Must go faster" scene) My husband was not happy that we learned this only after we had left that area so politely asked our guide to turn back and circle it again. But on to the good things we saw! We passed through some roads and town squares that have been used in countless movies and TV shows. Some are super recognizable and others you have to look pretty hard to remember how you recognize them (from which show/movie). Some of our favorite things we saw were Courthouse Square (from Back to the Future), the Psycho House/Bates Motel, the beach from Jaws, the plane crash wreckage from War of the Worlds, and a bunch of Jurassic Park scenes and props. They also had an exhibit of cars from the Jurassic Park and Back to the Future films. There are also a few fun things that "happen" while you pass by, like a dinosaur spraying you with water while you pass the Jurassic Park section, King Kong randomly grabbing you and shaking the tram while you pass by him (with your 3D glasses), joining a car chase with the Fast & Furious gang (also a 3D effect), and a shark jumping out of the water as you pass by the Jaws beach. I would say, if you're a movie buff and want to see the Universal Backlot, definitely spring for this tour. Just don't assume every single tour guide will be as enthusiastic as you about the tour they are leading!

Do you have to be in Universal Studios for the day or is this outside of Universal and can go separately?

The tram is inside the park, so you would have to have an admission ticket.

We got the "early bird" ticket where we can enter the park starting at 2 pm. The fan fest night starts at 7 pm so we got to enter early to enjoy the park along with the public before the rest of the fan fest ticket holders. This experience was great and I would do it again. In between the transition, there was barely any wait for the most popular rides and I never waited more than 15 minutes for rides that normally would take 2 hours. They are building the fast and furious: Hollywood Drift ride here, which is a new roller coaster. It's supposed to open summer 2026, so we just missed it's opening. For fan fest, they had the Harry Potter theme, one piece, Mario/Nintendo theme, and a few others. The concept was pretty good and Nintendo Land had Mario characters, including Yoshi's, Mario, Luigi and toad. I didn't get to enjoy the one piece themed foods since we brought lunch in from the outside. Hogsmeade had a scavenger hunt also, but we did not participate. The butter beer always hits, and one of my faves. It's like cream soda on steroids. The rest of the park was normal. I liked walking around at night with less of a crowd. Best part was I did not have a panic attack this time. I also bought a robe, which I look forward to using.

In honor of my milestone 800th Yelp review…read more... We are going somewhere very, VERY Magical. A place not just for kids, but for adults, and even for the elderly... Basically, for anyone who still believes that the Magic is real. And I'm going to let me let you in on a little secret.... It is, very much Real. So pack your bags, head to Platform 9 3/4 and get on the Hogwarts Express! ALL ABOARD!!!!! To The Wizarding World of Harry Potter @Universal Studios Hollywood we go! --------------------- It was May 23rd, 2026.... We were celebrating my oldest daughter's Birthday who just turned 8 a few days prior. As she recently got into watching all of the Harry Potter movies and being that we hadn't been to Universal Studios in several years, none of us had experienced the Harry Potter World before. On the day of our visit, my oldest wore her Harry Potter outfit (Team Gryffindor, of course). I don't know who was more excited, her or me... But she looked Awesome and her beaming smile said it all! We were at the front gates at opening and our 1st stop was The WW of HP and upon walking through the gates of this Magical Land... We were all immediately transformed into another world. A world of Magic, of Mystery & of course Wonder. It was something special that only you seeing it for yourself will you truly understand the Magic. And as the wise Albus Dumbledore said himself, "Words are in my not-so-humble opinion, our most inexhaustible source of magic." Yes, the true magic are the things that can be said about this place; the stories told, the memories created, the experiences shared by those who had yet to experience it before. And our experience was nothing short of Pure Magic. The Hogwarts Castle is absolutely Breathtaking; I simply could not get enough of it. Yeah, as we walked away for the final time that morning, I just couldn't stop looking back at it as I was filled with joy. From the.... Train conductor at the entrance who posed for a picture with my oldest was in character the entire time and he was a pure gem. To the themed shops, the butter beer, the interactive spots throughout the land were so much fun and it's definitely my new favorite spot within the park... And of course, the themed rides that absolutely did the movies justice and were extra fun because it was our first time. We had a blast! But the most magical part of our experience was the wand shop presentation where a child is selected from the audience as the "chosen one". My daughter was randomly selected as the "chosen wizard" and was pulled front and center to be apart of the wizardry show. It was experience she will hopefully never forget... I know I won't! A huge shoutout to Universal Studios and everyone behind making this place as real as our imaginations imagined Hogwarts would be.... You ABSOLUTELY Nailed it! Until our next adventure..... May the Magic in your heart, the imagination in your head and the hope in your spirit stay young forever.

The attention to detail throughout the entire area is incredible, from the architecture and music to the little interactive elements hidden throughout the land. Even if you're not a huge Harry Potter fan, it's still an experience worth visiting because the atmosphere alone is so immersive. One of the best parts was how well the staff stayed in character and interacted with guests. Team members were friendly, helpful, and did a great job managing the crowds, especially around the more popular attractions and shops. Even when the area became busy, employees kept lines organized and answered questions without seeming rushed. The rides were definitely the highlight. Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey was one of the most impressive theme park rides I've experienced. The wait time can get long very quickly, especially in the afternoon, so I highly recommend going early in the day if possible. Universal's app was helpful for checking ride times throughout the day. Flight of the Hippogriff had a shorter wait but was still fun, especially for families or anyone wanting a lighter ride experience. Food and drinks are expensive, but honestly the themed snacks and Butterbeer are part of the experience. Butterbeer is a must-try at least once. The frozen version was my favorite, especially in the California heat. Seating around the food areas fills up fast during peak hours, so timing your meals earlier or later than normal lunch times can help avoid crowds. The shops inside Hogsmeade were extremely detailed, but they do get packed. Ollivanders was one of the busiest areas during my visit, and there was a wait to get inside. If you want an interactive wand experience, be prepared for the wands to be pricey, but the interactive spell locations throughout the land make it more fun and worth it for fans. One thing visitors should know is that this area gets crowded very quickly, especially midday and during weekends or holidays. Taking photos can sometimes require patience because there are constantly people walking through the main pathways. Early mornings and evenings seemed to be the best times for photos and shorter lines. Overall, this was one of the most immersive themed areas I've visited at any park. Universal did an amazing job bringing the Harry Potter world to life, and it truly feels like an attraction you could spend hours exploring. Definitely worth adding to your Universal Studios Hollywood visit.

Lots and lots of animatronics all around and the attention to details must be commended. Even the restrooms are very strongly themed with the background music changing to match and it being underwater themed too. Bright, vibrant colors and so so much to work out. The fact that the "world" is stacked so high in the sky, really gives you the strong feeling of immersion as you are surrounded by everything you'd expect from jumping into a Super Mario game. Lots of photo ops with characters and just with the land as a back drop. There's the Toadstool Cafe, the Mario Kart ride, a shop, and so, so much to look at. Can't wait to come back again one day and not be rushed to finish all of the Fan Fest festivities.

All jokes aside, this place is a lot fun and we loved exploring, but prepare yourself for a assault on the senses. By hour two, my daughter and I were ready to leave. I've never been overstimulated before, but with the loud music, constant video game noises, the heat, and all of the children scream-crying, my brain was in overdrive. Now that you've prepared yourself here's a quicklist of must do things when visiting here... - Get here first thing in the AM or be prepared to wait. - You MUST get the game band, otherwise you can't do anything except hop on the Mario Kart ride. - Plan to spend to the bulk of your day here. With the band you gain access to multiple games in the area, collect digital coins, Mario Stamps, and unlock access to a secret final interactive game. - Book reservations for Toad's Cafe. If you walk-up you'll be waiting. They did a great job with this attraction, but it does get hot here since you're basically inside of a plastic and cement bowl. Let's-A-go!

The pizza had fresh veggies! I liked that. There was a decent amount of cheese. The crust was alright. It could have been hotter maybe? But other than that, it was decent. I would eat this again. Toadstool Cafe Mushroom Soup This was horrible. It was the worst mushroom soup I have ever had. It tasted like mushrooms ground up and thrown in a broth. Just gross. I would not order this again. The cup is cool, and you can keep that. Tasted like garbage. Hogsmeade Butterbeer Actually, not too bad! It's bubbly and frothy lol Had an okay flavor. It tasted like root beer to me lol I would get this again! Power Up Cafe Veggie calzone This was not half bad! It is super cute, comes a mushroom head. It tasted pretty good. It had lots of veggies in it and I wish it had more cheese. It was edible though. I would order one again. The cafe itself was adorable! Toadstool Cafe Pirahna Salad The salad was very fresh. Loved the presentation. I would not order it again though. It was expensive for what you get and not very filing.

Pro-Tip: If after the tour and you have to hop back on the freeway to go home (during rush hour), you can kill some time at the Burbank Town Center Mall that is close by. Easy to find the parking lot, everything is clearly labeled and they charge $15 for the day. Go down the looney toons elevator (level G) and you are now in the lobby. You will have to go through metal detectors. If you get there early, you can hang out at one of the most expensive Starbucks to relax. The bathroom is near the gift shop. You can also go into "check in" area and look at some cool stuff. They ask that you arrive 30 minutes before your scheduled time. The 30 minutes is KEY for the Deluxe Tour. I checked in around 9am with Michael for our 930am tour. He said we are early and go ahead and have a seat and he will call us when ready. (THIS IS WRONG! HE DUCKED OUT AFTER SCANNING OUR TICKET BUT FOR OTHER PEOPLE OF A DIFFERENT RACE, HE SAID, "OH, YOU HAVE THE DELUXE, LET ME GIVE YOU YOUR LANDYARDS." I WITNESS THIS TIME AND TIME AGAIN. WHEN HE LEFT THE COUNTER AGAIN, I ASKED A DIFFERENT PERSON FOR OUR LANYARDS) Michael NEVER called us and forgot about us. This is BS because if you have the Deluxe Tour, your name is on the list. He claimed we were just added, nope! I saw my name on the list and he crossed it out. The lanyard is important because on the bottom of it, is a voucher (don't tear) that is good at Central Perk for a free snack and drink. Michael, you are a POS, how hard is it to bend down and give me 4 lanyards? I know what you were doing but I was there with my two kids. I showed them how to handle things when someone is being "selective" in treatment. After the 930pm group is called, you are invited into a lounge. Feel free to take advantage and get some pastries, chips, other snacks, cold drinks, and coffee. The silverware and cups must stay in the lounge. Hopefully, you didn't buy anything at Starbucks. Then give you a count down when the tour will start, use the bathroom outside at this point. If you don't need to, trust me, do it. In the lounge, we were also offered a complementary admission to the Superman experience (do it). Then you go into a movie theater to watch a quick 5-minute video before meeting your tour guide. Our tour guide was Alejandro and he was wonderful. Super cool and turned our day around quickly. He is full of energy and knowledge and you can tell he enjoys his job. Alejandro took us around the studio and empty sets and explained how movies were made and which movies were made with each specific set. We would go to a different part and get out and walk. Alejandro did such a good job and that is why I am rating this 5 stars. We were able to see the costumes department and they have tons of clothes from different eras. Pictures were not allowed in there. After visiting a few areas and actually a stage (think warehouse) and the sound department (how the mix in effects plus music), we took our first break at the exclusive WB Commissary. The best part was that Alejandro was about to join us for lunch (working lunch). Lunch was delicious and top notch. You can order a starter and entree and they are sensitive to guests with allergies. A drink is also included. After lunch, we made our way to the prop department and it is amazing at some of the stuff they have in there. After the guided tour, it was time for Alejandro to say bye to us for the self-guided portion. Right at the Central Perk. No snacks are allowed in the exhibits room on left so we did that area first and saw the costumes for Mortal Kombat, a few cool things, and photo OP on the Friends and Big Bang Theory Couch. Give them your phone. They will also take a picture too and hand you a QR card. Then you can do a motion video of Harry Potter riding the broom or Batman in the motorcycle and they take the picture at the end. You are not allowed to photo or film while you are doing this on the green screen. Then show the QR code and maybe you want to buy a picture or two? There is another sound stage presentation similar to the one we did on the tour but different movie. A few exhibits and we were back into Central Perk again to cash in for a free drink and free snack. I decided on a blended drink and apple fritter. My kids took chips and bottle of lemonade. Inside the giftshop was the counter of Central Perk, the sofa again inside the coffee shop, Monica's kitchen, etc. It was close to 4pm at this point and we did the Superman Experience and they take to the Friends fountain for a quick picture. Then it's off to play your game and afterwards, you can explore the exhibits inside the Fortress of Solitude. You can take pictures and buy them afterwards. There is a giftshop too. Then shuttle to Batman and Harry Potter stuff. Great day!

As a huge fan of the The Big Bang Theory, I was so excited for this experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff was welcoming and friendly. Our tour guide was hilarious and shared so many fun behind-the-scenes facts throughout the tour. One of the highlights was getting to sit on the famous couch from the Friends set. Now I want to go back and binge-watch the entire series again. Whether you're a TV fan or just looking for a unique Los Angeles experience, this tour is definitely worth checking out.
