My husband and I did the TMZ Comedy Crawl Tour and let me just say it was a whole experience. Cruising through Hollywood with comedians Mateen Stewart, Kiki Anderson, and Ray J (yes, that Ray J) was not on my 2026 bingo card... but here we are. Now Ray J trying to get his stand-up career going? Whew. I love a reinvention story, but sir... maybe stick to the other ventures lol. The bus took us to iconic stops: The Comedy Union, The Laugh Factory, and The Comedy Store. At each spot, we got a free drink or shot. The comedians kept the energy up on the bus, roasting, joking, and keeping the vibes alive while we rolled through Hollywood. The crowd was cool, no weird energy, and my husband and I had a genuinely good time. Now let's get into the logistics... The email said arrive 15-30 minutes early for the 7:30pm tour. We pulled up at 7:00pm. Didn't get walked to the bus until around 7:40pm. Bus didn't leave until 8:00pm. Also, the email still says check in at the Hard Rock Cafe kiosk, but check-in is actually at TCL Chinese Theatre now. Please update the email. Overall? It was fun. Would I do it again? Yes. But next time I'm trying the Bar Crawl or After Dark tour.

We went on 10/23 Friday. Kudos to the host "Kapone" he was a hoot!!! A little disappointed that we didn't get to go into the neighborhoods and see celebrity houses.. it was more of a city tour ..

    TMZ CELEBRITY TOUR

My best friend and I went on the TMZ TOUR for my birthday. I've been a huge fan since the very beginning. Although I live only an hour away, I'd always wanted to do this tour. I would highly recommend this tour because the seats are super comfortable and each seat has a perfect view of all the celebrity Hotspots. I will give one warning to be aware of before you go. It is a 2 hour tour and there aren't any bathroom breaks. So just be aware of that. Our tour guide was BLAIR MOON. He was outstanding!!! Very professional and super friendly!!! Thank you Blair for making my birthday experience one of the best birthdays ever!!!

I'm a Los Angeles local and I've never done one of these "celebrity tours". I happened to be in the area for another event, so why not go out as a full tourist. As it turns out, we were the only "locals" on the bus that day. Trish "the dish" was our tour guide and she was great. She was very funny and knowledgeable about all the sights that we saw along the way. It's a two hour tour and it goes by so fast. We did see a celebrity but the other passengers didn't follow Trish's instructions and I don't think she was able to use the footage from that encounter. That was a bummer, but people get excited. The van is comfortable even though the seats have seen better days. There are no windows so you can take a lot of pictures without an obstructed view. It does get a little chilly but I brought a blanket so I wouldn't get cold. On the way back we passed by a motorcycle street gang group. That was an interesting experience. They sort of took over the road and were revving up their engines to get people's attention. It was a very unique group of people. Be sure to bring tip money for both the tour guide and the driver. Driving around the streets of LA/Hollywood is NO EASY task. I've been doing it for 30 years and it sucks. Keeping people engaged and entertained for two hours is also a difficult task. The price of the tour is a good deal in my opinion...so don't be cheap, tip generously.

So the tour picks up in front of the hard rock cafe, when you arrive ahead of your booking time, just go into the restaurant there is a check in desk for the tours across from the hostess stand. I goofed and got the dates mixed up, but they were able to accommodate us for a tour later in the day and it all worked out as we were able to grab a bite to eat before the tour. The tour itself was a lot of fun, I learned what tmz actually stands for. And we also rode by various areas where famous people are snapped by TMZ cameras. Certainly gave us a different view of LA versus me driving my husband around pointing stuff out. Also some other cool tid-bits were learned during this tour. I'd certainly recommend it. The buses aren't very big either which also makes it nice. But be warned there are no restrooms on the bus and if they have to stop to let you off for a bio break they will leave you where you got dropped off. So make sure to handle your stuff before boarding.

    Fun before take off!

Are you really resuming tours until the end of the year?

They run tours every besides Thanksgiving, Christmas, and a couple other holidays.

What should you tip? Thanks for all responses but we gave her $20 & George the driver $10 because he was GREAT as well...

I tipped $4.00 because that was all the cash I had. Had I read up on it before hand I would have had like a 15% tip ready to give him.

Is it and military discounts for this tour?

    Yes

Does this tour go by the Hollywood sign?

No - unfortunately not - but you can see it through a building where you load the bus.

Anyone know if the tours are the same no matter which location you start from? i.e. Hard Rock Cafe vs. The Grove?

Today, they stepped up to the plate twice for us. We are staying at The Garland and they pick up passengers from this hotel. Well, this morning my Mom and two Aussies we befriended were waiting for the bus. It was late. We were getting antsy but the hotel informed us the driver had an emergency and Starline was sending an Uber for us. One minute late later, the Polestar arrived to pick us up Now the ride is tricky on the bus. There is traffic. This is L.A. Overall we were not exactly late for stops. Maybe a few minutes but no big deal. The drivers were nice and gave useful recommendations. The bus was comfortable and riding on the top deck of a double decker bus is one of my favorite things to do in a city I am visiting. The weather was perfect. I was happy. The stops are hit and miss. Some are well worth visiting such as Santa Monica Pier, Venice Beach, The Grove, Pink's, Olvera Avenue, Melrose Avenue, and really I could go for quite a bit. Others make me go hmm...like the Four Seasons and some unknown streets. Something for everyone. Now to make a long story short we hopped from the red to the yellow back to the red line. This is time consuming and I called telling the lady, Yasmine, I believe that we would not meet the deadline for the last drop-off at Dolby Theater to take us back to The Garland. She spoke with her supervisor, I believe it was Lisa. No problem.....Solomon will take you back to The Garland. Well, let me tell you. Solomon was right there as promised. And guess what? He drove us in his brand new Tesla! No joke. We took a scenic route and saw amazing views of Downtown L.A., the Hollywood sign and through one of the canyons, I forget which one. Solomon was so, so nice. He is a true asset to the company. Now, things did not go 100% smoothly but when does it? Starline Tours stepped up and did right by us. I will recommend them to anyone wanting to see fun L.A. spots without the absolute hassle of driving. And yes, the headset worked on every bus we were on.

I had a two-day pass and I thought that would be plenty of time. The problem was the small number of buses available. If there had been a bus every 15-30 minutes, I could have done more. Instead, the buses ran every hour or less frequently. There was a shortage of buses and drivers, according to the company. One route had only one bus, so we had to wait for it to make the whole circuit before we could get on again. Sometimes the buses didn't show up when scheduled, which made everything longer. I was very disappointed in this tour. I have to say, though, that the audio portion of the tour was good. Earphones were provided and although there was some static, I could usually understand what was being said.

Instead We end up on a nearly 4 hours long tour of the hood. We got back to the pickup location at 230pm. 5 hrs in total wasted mostly by waiting around, watching a verbal argument btwn Mooney, the owner & Big Mike but he seemed to stay out of it. The complaining and arguing and cussing was authentic, cuz Mooney's frustration was real & felt. Yet I think his hissy fit led to all the chaos & waiting around we had to do. We're out $80 because that how much more we paid than everyone else on our tour. I left feeling "Debow-ed" with my tourist chain getting yanked off! Not to mention, the Van sound system went out by blasting uncontrollable screeching noise every time the Van was started back up. This screeching assault to our hearing happened about 9 times. Painful!!! Plus we were stuck in the heat with no AC. Haha it was so ridiculously awful, that looking back I can only laugh. Luckily we broke down close to a small store & bought cold drinks & snacks while the wiring was figured out to the sound system. The rest of the tour the microphone didn't work so the people in the back couldn't hear Big Mike's awesome story telling, and their nonstop complaining behind me was distracting AF. Lastly what we were overcharged $80, should be given to Big Mike and lil sum for Mooney cuz Mooney was mad as hell and I could tell by his high level cussing he can tell a story too.
