I booked the night tour for myself with Starline and what a fun tour it was! The website didn't quite make clear what the tour was going to be of but I knew I would have some time to kill so I got myself a ticket. I was really impressed by Brandon who called me about 20 minutes prior to the ride and asked if I needed directions to their office. When I got there, both he and the other person were so polite and nice! I hopped on a bus that had only about 7 other people on it, which was great! Our tour guide was Craig and let me tell you... if you are able to request a specific guide, make sure it is him! He was very funny, very informative about the buildings we were driving by, and shared a lot with us about the local food culture as we got a little stuck in some light traffic. He made a lot of wisecracks, which I found hilarious! Craig definitely has my sense of humor! Turns out - to my surprise and delight - that the tour bus headed up to Griffith Observatory. Normally, I wouldn't venture up there on my own because the traffic gets tough and the parking spots are few and far between. Craig dropped us off right at the entry to the promenade and let us all run off for a half hour. It was a beautiful night and the view was spectacular. All in all, the tour lasted closer to 2 hours than the original 90 minutes that I was expecting, but that was just fine with me, and it was actually kind of relaxing having someone else do the driving so I could be a lookie-loo. And again, Craig is a hoot! After being a SoCal resident and frequent Hollywood tourist for decades, this was the first bus tour I have taken, and it certainly won't be the last! Because of the friendliness and politeness of the Starline team, I'm making this my go-to company and the one that I will recommend to all of my friends when they come to town. A+! ONE IMPORTANT THING TO NOTE: Getting to the office/pickup spot can be a little tricky if you aren't familiar with the Dolby Theater complex (Ovation). You need to take the elevator/escalator or the stairs up to the 2nd level. When you find yourself standing directly in front of the doors to the Dolby Theater, go directly left, past the Chado Tea shop, and all the way to the end of the hall, almost to the street. You will spot their office very easily at that point. And use the bathroom before you go on the bus!

We live in LA but have never been on the Celebrity Homes tour. Decided give it a try with Starline after some comparisons. Compared to other sites, it was really easy to find info for the tour, book online, and best of all, they are up-to-par tech wise so they were able to issue a barcode ticket that can be added to your apple wallet. As for the tour itself, the bus is decent. It could use some sprucing up but other than that, seats were okay. Since it was the celebrity tour, it's the smaller hotel shuttle style bus which is allowed to go into the residential areas. For the price, this tour was pretty good. Very reasonable for 2 hours. Our driver was very knowledgeable, friendly, and we did enjoy visiting all the places slated for this tour. The driver recommends $10 a person (adults) as tip so just be prepared to tip, that is if you feel it's warranted.

their new Dreams and Nightmares tour is a true crime bus tour focusing on Hollywood and the Sunset Strip area. Have your cameras ready because Brian will warn you before great shots of iconic streets and buildings. We saw Michael Jacksons house, we learned about John Belushi's passing, and got to visit a small hidden cemetery where true A-listers are interned.

Got tickets with star line for my family and I , JOSEPH at the customer service desk helped us , he recommended the hop on hop off tour ! It was so much fun going sightseeing ! Will book another tour with him in the future ! Thank you !

Does this tour have a live guide or is it pre-recorded? I see both being mentioned.

I knew I had to book the bus at least 6 months in advance to make sure I got a great price and that the bus was available. The bus tour was one of our family activities for my 3-day family reunion in late July, consisting of 200 people. About 60 went on the bus tour. My family enjoyed the tour and had phrases of how great Steven and his team were. To top the great service we got, Steven even drove back to hotel that my family was staying in to bring back an iPad which one of my aunts left behind. Now that is beyond customer service! Steven, I thank you for taking great care of my family! I will definitely book again.

Arrived Early, Treated Rudely, Safety Issues, 30+ Minutes Late…read more We prepaid for the 11:00 AM open-air tour 4 days in advance and arrived at 10:40 AM with printed confirmation stating the bus leaves on time and all late arrivals are bumped to the next tour. Instead, we were repeatedly told to "come back closer to 11" and then that there was a "bus issue" and come back at 11:15 am. We wandered around in the cold. We checked in 3-4 times because we had lunch plans after the 2-hour tour. Staff claimed another group was late (which turned out NOT to be true). Meanwhile, employees were trying to recruit more passengers. Only after we said we were canceling 30 minutes late, did they send us to board a bus. The driver was nice, but one seat behind him had no working seat belt. Three blocks after leaving, the bus was called back to pick up a group of 8 even though there were only 7 seat belts available. We were pressured to give up our safe seats and wait for another bus. We refused to exit. We refused to sit without a seat belt. The older male staff member was aggressive and extremely rude. The tour left over 30 minutes late. Disorganized, misleading, RUDE older man and unsafe. Horrible experience for the start of our vacation. Would NOT recommend.

Our guide, Ansley, was respectful, knowledgeable, approachable, and friendly. She really brought the stories to life and made everyone feel comfortable asking questions. The vintage funeral car was such a cool and fitting touch for the Manson Family Murders Tour (and the main reason why I booked the tour). About 80% of the experience was spent in the car, which was cozy and gave us plenty of time to soak in the history while listening to music from the era. Including Manson, The Beach Boys, and The Beatles, to name a few. We also made three stops along the way to get out, take photos, and see key locations up close. As a mortician, the experience carried an extra layer of meaning. I actually helped funeral direct the service for the LaBiancas' granddaughter (who had the same fate as her grandparents). So hearing and seeing this history firsthand felt deeply personal and surreal. If you're into true crime or Los Angeles history, this tour is an absolute must. Graveliners and Ansley made the experience both educational and unforgettable. We loved every minute!

They wait on the opposite end of us because our tours are separate. At 1010am we get verified the 3rd time that we have both tours booked, then offered a seat in the open air tour truck. At 1035 we get verified again & told to get off the open air tour truck and get a seat on the white van with everyone else, that our Hollywood tour would be after we get back from the Hood tour, Mind you the tour I booked was described as 3.5 hrs, quick & to the point. Instead We end up on a nearly 4 hours long tour of the hood. We got back to the pickup location at 230pm. 5 hrs in total wasted mostly by waiting around, watching a verbal argument btwn Mooney, the owner & Big Mike but he seemed to stay out of it. The complaining and arguing and cussing was authentic, cuz Mooney's frustration was real & felt. Yet I think his hissy fit led to all the chaos & waiting around we had to do. We're out $80 because that how much more we paid than everyone else on our tour. I left feeling "Debow-ed" with my tourist chain getting yanked off! Not to mention, the Van sound system went out by blasting uncontrollable screeching noise every time the Van was started back up. This screeching assault to our hearing happened about 9 times. Painful!!! Plus we were stuck in the heat with no AC. Haha it was so ridiculously awful, that looking back I can only laugh. Luckily we broke down close to a small store & bought cold drinks & snacks while the wiring was figured out to the sound system. The rest of the tour the microphone didn't work so the people in the back couldn't hear Big Mike's awesome story telling, and their nonstop complaining behind me was distracting AF. Lastly what we were overcharged $80, should be given to Big Mike and lil sum for Mooney cuz Mooney was mad as hell and I could tell by his high level cussing he can tell a story too.
