This was a terrific tour of tragic yet fascinating history! Ansley, our guide was exceptionally knowledgeable and friendly, yet generous with her ears as well. She lets talkers discuss and then joins in and points out some of the most interesting sites you can see. One of a kind tour!

Just for context, I was a successful tour guide in Chicago for over 16 years. Four of those years I was an owner/operator. I think this is important information because when I write a review of a tour - any tour - I take into account both sides of the event. I want to start with the customer service element of Grave Line Tours. Adam - who was my point of contact months before the tour - days before the tour - days immediately following the tour was is the gold standard for tour operators. He was efficient and kind and patient. When you are dealing with people who are not from where you are and don't necessarily know things like geography and good places to eat in the vicinity of the tour, a kind and patient operator removes all the stress from the trip. One the day of the tour, we were met by Blaze our tour guide/driver/story-teller. We got into the limo and off we went. Blaze navigated that limo through the streets of LA like it was a Ford Fiesta. Her driving was smooth and comfortable. When we got in the limo - she gave us a QR code to scan to get some actual crime scene photos as well as photos of places that we would see and get a chance to photograph. She intercut her narration with tracks of music or interviews and other bits that gave the stories an extra dimension. She drove through the LA traffic and shared these stories in a voice that was equal parts teacher and dramatist. My daughter - who lives in LA - remarked more than once that the way the tour was designed - was brilliant - the way it wound through the neighborhoods in a way that served the stories - keeping them compelling. One of highlights of the tour was a distant - but clear - view of the home built on the land where the Tate home once stood. We saw it from across a canyon which gave it a cinematic aura. I don't think we would have benefited by going any closer - the view was stunning as it was. I think - for me - the highlight of the trip was the lunch stop. We pulled into a crowded parking lot and Blaze parked next to a place called The Munch Box. This bright yellow hot dog stand is where Charles Manson is rumored to eat his "Western with Relish" while he waited for Sexy Sadie (Susan Atkins) to get off of from her job at the Candy Cat. It was a messy lunch - but a filling one and there is a rock on one wall that appears to have "Charlie was here" carved into it. History and the internet are at odds about Manson's diet and his time at The Munch Box - but Blaze is such a natural storyteller - she could have said Elvis ate there with Jim Morrison and I would have believed her. She made that 20-minute lunch break electric and exciting as we stuffed the chili dogs dripping with relish into our faces. We made to our point of origin after listening to Manson Family music on spotify and learning the end of the story for the family. I was surprised to learn that some were still alive. It's hard to fathom the events of those nights was only 56 years ago and some of those people involved still walk among us. Grave Line Tours combines five-star customer service on the backend - with a peerless tour in a comfortable limo with a small group of enthusiasts. This kind of service and tour will engender loyalty with travelers who return to LA. They have other tours which sound intriguing and - you can bet - I'll be back in one of their limos next time I'm in LA. [Note: The tour starts at 10:00 a.m. It sounds a bit off putting to being seeing these things and hearing these stories on a Saturday morning, but if it was later in the day the traffic would have made the trip uncomfortable and about three more hours. Also seeing things like the Spahn Ranch and the Tate house would have been impossible in the dark. It's not for everyone - but it was a great father daughter outing on a Saturday morning in LA.]

We have done 2 tours with them: black Dahlia and the Manson murders with 2 different guides. They were both super interesting and entertaining! We are locals to SoCal so it was great to learn a little more of cases we have heard before. You meet in Hollywood and go in the hearse limo which is really comfortable. Everyone is very knowledgeable and friendly. We can't wait to do another one!

THIS. WAS. EPIC!!!! If you like true crime (and maybe even if you don't!) you absolutely cannot go wrong with Grave Line Tours! I had the most fun I've had in ages as Blaze drove us all over town giving us a riveting account of the life, legend, and death of LA's infamous Black Dahlia. Blaze, in her British accent, wordsmith delivery, and witty humor made the trip all it was. An air freshener of Michael Meyers swung in devilish delicious detail from the rear view mirror of the funeral limo. A ghoulish soundtrack ripe with - among others - the theme from Twin Peaks, was a nice intermission as we hopped on the freeway for a quick spell. (Chef's kiss!) We loved it so much, I am organizing an adventure trip for their "Manson Family Murders" Tour. I have organized 15 events for my Kooky Adventure MeetUp group, and this is my top fave so far (for this Adventure I had a competition for the best "Tourist Outfit" and had Blaze be the judge). Do this now. A 3hr tour you won't forget. It will haunt you in the best way possible! PS) The owner, Adam, was prompt with email response and a pleasure to communicate with.

This was such an amazing tour! I went on the Black Dahlia tour & learned way more than I anticipated considering I've always heard details about the case. I love that it also shared some old LA (dark) and interesting history. If you're a fan of LA history & enjoy learning about true crime with lots of details, this is for you! Our tour guide, Ansley, was amazing!

We just finished the Manson tour and could not be MORE pleased! Blaze did an absolutely amazing tour guide job, using a very interesting and well crafted script, plus Blaze gave so much emotion and zest to it all. The car was clean and smelled good, also very comfortable. While the entire tour covered a large area, we were entertained the whole time. Great historical true crime stops, lots of good information, and a fun sound track too! I would recommend this this tour HIGHLY for anyone interested in true crime, the Manson family, Los Angeles/SoCal dark history, and really anyone looking for something different than the "star homes tours" and the other tired Hollywood tour options.

I must admit, going into this tour I thought I knew everything I needed to know about Charles Manson and Family. Boy was I wrong. First off, parking was super easy and locating our tour guide once we arrived was easy as well. Our guide, Adam, introduced himself and talked to each one of us individually. He asked questions to get to know us, and by the end of the tour it felt like we had been friends for years. Throughout the tour, we stopped at several spots, and at the risk of giving too much away I won't go into more detail about that. Adam was very knowledgeable about the subject. There was a story that was told throughout the drive, and each story led to a different stop. We were given access to photos on our phones to follow along with as well. The tour is long, it was about 3 1/2 hours long with a pretty good break in between. I feel like even though it was a 3 1/2 hour tour there wasn't a minute not full of information. Adam is a great narrator and a great storyteller and awesome at engaging with us. You can tell Adam is very passionate about what he does and this tour did not seem exploitative, which was something I was worried about. It was very much informative. We will be booking more tours. And we will request Adam, even though I know he usually handles the "business side" of things. The tour began at 10 AM and we had enough time afterwards to visit a few more places in Hollywood as well as grab an early dinner and be home at a reasonable time. For reference , we live about 1.5 hours away. Thanks Grave Line Tours!

Stop what you're doing and BOOK. THE. TOUR. Hands down, one of the most impressive, powerful, and well-done experiences we've ever had. Adam doesn't just guide a tour--he leads a movement. The entire experience was so seamless, thorough, and thoughtfully curated. He made it all feel easy, natural, and totally engaging--from the first step to the final stop. Even when it came the traffic nightmare--Hollywood Blvd shut down due to a surprise popup street celebration (because of course it did, who doesn't have random unscheduled parades but ghosts and true crime can't wait!). Adam handled it like a total pro. He calmly walked us through our options, offered us choices with grace, and kept everything light and easy. Honestly, you'd never even know it wasn't part of the plan! I knew I didn't want to miss a second of any tour he was leading, and I'm so glad we stayed--because it was PERFECT. Best advice? Trust him. Go with the flow. Take it all in. We learned SO much--not just about the case, but the era, the culture, the people involved. And it wasn't just listening--we got to engage, ask questions, and have real dialogue. Adam's knowledge is mind-blowing, and the way he shares it is a total masterclass. He's a storyteller, a historian, an advocate, and somehow your new best friend all rolled into one. But what sets this tour apart? The deep connection Adam has with the victim--Elizabeth. He doesn't sensationalize her story or focus on the gore. He centers her. Who she was while she was alive. Her humanity, her dreams, her voice. The crime doesn't define her--he makes sure of that. Adam and Elizabeth have a bond that is palpable. She would be so proud of what he's doing for her and her legacy. You can feel her presence through his passion, and you just know she's walking right alongside him. Thanks for such an incredible tour and experience--we're still raving about it! Adam, you are truly special. Keep doing what you're doing--you're a bright, rare light in a sometimes cruel world, and you make a real difference in the lives of everyone you meet. Don't stop advocating for Elizabeth--she's speaking through you. You have an incredible gift, and you are an absolute treasure. I'm so grateful God crossed our paths. You are one of the amazing humans out there. P.S. Also, if you're doing this with kids or teens-- Adam is amazing with his storytelling, I feel this your would be fine for anyone who enjoys the subject line, can listen, and give the case attention. My crime loving teens loved it as much as I did, I felt it was completely appropriate. He also has the tour set up in a way that allows you to see the imagines only if you want (of course, we did, but to each their own, it isn't in your face or forced, nor is it focused on!).

My wife and I had a blast! Such a unique tour. Blaze was awesome as a guide, as we traveled to the darker places of Hollywood. Highly recommend!

Blaze is an amazing historian and entertainer. Our group really enjoyed the Black Dahlia tour of Hollywood and Los Angeles. The limo is comfortable and Blaze is an excellent driver. A fun way to spend a day in the City of Angels.

It takes research and preparation and it's worth it! My husband loves movies like "The Long Goodbye" and "Dead Again", LA based thrillers, so that's how we discovered High Tower Elevator because they used it as a location for these cool films. So we looked into it. More trivia, it is mentioned by Michael Connelly in his novels ("Echo Park) and he used to live here, cool, tight? Hard to find parking in the area, but since we got tickets for the Bowl and we were parked in their lot, we figured we should take advantage and walk to it. Still, I have the feeling that this tour would have been amazing whatever day I took it. You board the mini-bus at Hollywood and Highland and from there it's a four-hour drive around Hollywood, West Hollywood, Brentwood and West LA to see nearly every school, house, apartment and hang-out that the great MM populated. I don't want to ruin any surprises, so I won't go into detail (though, yes, you do get to see the house where she lived with Joe DiMaggio and where she died all alone) but suffice it to say that you will come out of this tour with a deep understanding of the mega-talented professional and struggling woman that Norma Jean Baker was. The guide Elisa knows her stuff, and I am still shocked that she was able to fill four hours with history and anecdotes and photos and videos played on the bus's TV monitors. There was never a silent moment, and I was further shocked when Elisa told me after the tour about all the stuff she'd had to cut out! The other thing that will happen to you is that you'll never look at Hollywood -- the physical place or the industry town -- the same way, as Elisa points out houses and buildings that long-time Angelenos have passed a thousand times, never knowing the role they played in MM's life. And the way Elisa tells stories and anecdotes in each location makes you picture the 8, 15 or 36 year old Marilyn actually entering and exiting each spot. I should also mention that this is the first bus tour I've ever taken of Hollywood, and I couldn't have picked a better one. I can't wait to try the Doors tour!
