BUT BEWARE OF THE BEACH. there is some water access outside of the dog park area but still kinda part of the dog park? idk. well, we let our sweet, very active , border collie - cattle dog mix out to play in the water but there are these stupid, medium-size landscaping rocks butted along the edge of the water and while sprinting back from fetching a ball, our pup tore his CCL because his foot got caught in between the rocks :((( probably will never go back because i'm traumatized, but it is a great dog park with kind volunteers and super cool locals

Woke up early the next day, got to the spot 15 minutes early, sent a text, called... waited 40 minutes called again.. waited 5 minutes called again, spoke with neighbors around where we were supposed to Leave out from to no avail. Extremely disappointed. Been to Colorado multiple times on multiple rides with personal animals.. first time every paying for an outfitter and was sorely disappointed... do better Mr. Travis. Sharing in hopes he doesn't do it to someone else whos looked forward to something like this all week after driving 20 hours. Currently on the phone with bank getting debit card deactivated trying to recoupe some funds from it. Been to horse camps all over the south/west and never encountered this. Whether it is through the Colorado mountainside like us or the Texas hill country Travis is your man. He did two rides for us. First with my 7 yr old girl and wife. Then a second ride with 5 of us family members. He is engaging, interesting, knowledgeable about his surroundings, and willing to teach the art of horseback riding. Her prefers texts to book and will meet you to guide you to the trailheads. He did a couple 2 hour rides for us but I know he does 2/4/8 hr rides upon request. I give this review a 5 star but it was a 4 star experience. Only because the Troublesome Fire of 2020 burnt up a lot of Aspen trees along the train and it is slow to come back. Not on Travis just not as beautiful as other parts of CO.

The ride went smooth and we were able to hit class III and IV rapids on Clear Creek for about 13 miles! It was affordable and great for the whole family. They do offer easier rapid trip for the youngsters. They also offer day trips, or half days in the morning or afternoon. When I return to Colorado, I will definitely go through this group again!

Not only does Adventures in Whitewater offer lunch on the river, but we also stopped at a cliff from which you can jump off 25 feet into the water. For anyone who wants to try cliffjumping but also wants it to be safe, this one's for you. There was also a smaller cliff for those a little less daring. We took the 'beginning to moderate' river tour, but due to low rainfall was disappointingly uneventful (June 2013), kind of like tubing down a river really, with very few rapids. Fortunately that was the only disappointing part of Adventures in Whitewater. These guys are pros, everything was well coordinated and a bucket of fun.

E.g. one specifically liked playing in water, one really liked the cow's molasses in buckets nearby, some had a little bit more sass than the others, etc. The little tidbits that she gave for each horse was a clear indication that the staff & owners cared for and loved these horses - this is enough for any animal lover to want to support this business. It also made it easier to connect with and understand our horses to make the experience more enjoyable. HCT was otherwise fairly priced & reasonably understanding if customers are running late. The trails were beautiful and unique. The dogs running along with us were entertaining. I couldn't have asked for a better time! Note: They have a little outhouse on the side, but unless you're ok with those, be sure to use the bathroom before!

What he didn't explain is that you pay for EVERY fish caught--even the ones you "donate" back to them. We brought six kids. One son caught 17 fish by himself in 45 minutes. Staff watched us fill buckets without saying a word as our bill climbed to nearly $400. Using the word "donate" is INTENTIONALLY MISLEADING. You're not donating anything--you're buying fish and giving them back to the business. In my opinion, this pricing model is PREDATORY and relies on tourists and families not understanding the rules until they're standing at the register. If your kids have the (virtually guaranteed) experience of catching (likely multiple) fish, prepare to pay dearly for it.

Bad: the fish will very likely be small, which is fine if you're going with little kids, but PAY ATTENTION because EVERY fish you catch WILL cost you BY THE INCH on top of whatever you paid for admission or poles. If you think the "donate" option for the fish caught will be free, you're mistaken. The Really Ugly Bottom line- the pricing is intentionally predatory and confusing. As someone who lives locally this was a bad look at a classic tourist trap. She has 3 horses so this is an extremely personal / intimate experience. The minimum ride is 3 hours, we chose a 4 hour ride and brought a lunch. She helps you from start to finish if you're an inexperienced rider, if you're experienced you'll also thoroughly enjoy the ride. You assist her with grooming, saddling, cooling the horses after the ride, everything. This is an option that I highly encourage as it allows you time to bond with your horse. The horses (Duke, Missy "Baby Horse") are VERY well cared for, loved, and are so responsive to Sydney. Whether you are an experienced or inexperienced rider you will love this ride. You will ALWAYS feel safe, especially since there's just 3 of you. I highly recommend Alpine Stables and Sydney for your Rocky Mountain ride. The views are spectacular!

So when the weekend took us to Granby, we decided to kick off the weekend at Granby Ranch. STAR #1 - While we chose to only play 9 holes, it is an 18 hole course. So go ahead a book what you're feeling! STAR #2 - The mountain views were wonderful! STAR #3 - The course was well maintained. STAR #4 - They do offer up a driving range to get a little warm-up in before you hit the course. Even better, the range was included in the greens fee. The only drawback was that it was a little on the pricey side at $120 for my husband and I for just 9 holes, While I'm not the strongest golfer, I still had a blast! We make our way up to Granby a few times a year, and I'll gladly make my way back to Granby Ranch when we do.
