It's worth the hike up for your kids to have experiences you won't be able to find anywhere else in the world with life long core memories that build good character. I HIGHLY recommend enrolling your kids here even if it's for one week day camp, or a focus group. I also LOVE that it's been operating for over 70 years by the same family running it today. You won't find anywhere else that has not only a turn key, organized, professional establishment but that's run by heart, soul, love for the outdoors, community, respect for one another, and tradition. It's also a great place to have your wedding or any special event!!

The owners Lynn and Mike are incredibly easy to work with. All the staff are well trained and very attentive to the children and help stretch their comfort zone in fun challenging activities. This year camp was cancelled due to COVID-19. As an alternative, CMR has been hosting single family activities to ensure social distancing. We took the opportunity to do this and we had a blast. As parents, we really didn't know much about how the kids spent their time on the ranch. Spending time up there made me feel like a kid again. The staff made the whole experience fun and easy. The measures that CMR are taking to reduce exposure to the virus are as good as any place I've seen. They sanitize every piece of equipment and touch point between each family and keep the flushies sparkling. Oh and hundreds of acres to spread out the guests. After several months of quarantine and more to come, CMR's 2020 family program was much needed. It's also worth mentioning that various special needs grants and scholarships will cover the family program.

Woke up early the next day, got to the spot 15 minutes early, sent a text, called... waited 40 minutes called again.. waited 5 minutes called again, spoke with neighbors around where we were supposed to Leave out from to no avail. Extremely disappointed. Been to Colorado multiple times on multiple rides with personal animals.. first time every paying for an outfitter and was sorely disappointed... do better Mr. Travis. Sharing in hopes he doesn't do it to someone else whos looked forward to something like this all week after driving 20 hours. Currently on the phone with bank getting debit card deactivated trying to recoupe some funds from it. Been to horse camps all over the south/west and never encountered this. May your pillow be warm on both sides Mr. Travis. With all my love, Joseph Russell.

Whether it is through the Colorado mountainside like us or the Texas hill country Travis is your man. He did two rides for us. First with my 7 yr old girl and wife. Then a second ride with 5 of us family members. He is engaging, interesting, knowledgeable about his surroundings, and willing to teach the art of horseback riding. Her prefers texts to book and will meet you to guide you to the trailheads. He did a couple 2 hour rides for us but I know he does 2/4/8 hr rides upon request. I give this review a 5 star but it was a 4 star experience. Only because the Troublesome Fire of 2020 burnt up a lot of Aspen trees along the train and it is slow to come back. Not on Travis just not as beautiful as other parts of CO.

We had two adults and four kids in our group, all with some riding experience, and every one of us had an amazing time. Our trail guides, Emma and Anna, were outstanding. They were friendly, knowledgeable, and constantly attentive to everyone's safety. Anna, our back guide, spent much of the nearly two-hour ride on foot, helping the horses navigate downed trees, steep rocky hillsides, and even rock stair steps. It was obvious how much they cared about both the riders and the horses. Speaking of the horses--they were some of the best trail horses I've ever ridden. They were healthy, well cared for, beautiful, and gentle. I've been on rides elsewhere where the horses were overweight and clearly not in great condition, but these horses looked fantastic. My horse, Bacon, completely stole my heart--I wanted to take him home! The trail itself was breathtaking, with challenging terrain that showcased just how sure-footed and trustworthy these horses are. There was also a family of complete beginners riding ahead of us, and Emma and Anna made sure they felt comfortable and confident the entire time. I would recommend Jackson Stables to anyone, whether you're an experienced rider or climbing into the saddle for the very first time. It was easily one of the highlights of our Colorado trip!

This was not labeled as a "guided talking tour".... They also allowed someone with special needs to ride on a 3 hour ride which is "not for beginners" and that really held up the experience. They should reserve the right to evaluate riders in the beginning and make adjustments accordingly. But all in all, a good experience.

All of that was included. The rooms were old, but nice. Bunk for the kids and queen bed for us. We stayed in one of the lodges. There was a common room with a fireplace and some games we utilized, too. We had a mini fridge and microwave. We used those for storing breakfast and lunch items and the microwave for popcorn at night. Was a nice stay! The cross country skiing trails were great, even with the limited snow that this year has brought. Great workout and loads of fun. We did that with our kids for a few hours each day (January stay).

It is now late season and a number of activities were closed - canoes, the pool. However there was so much to do, we did not really miss these. There was so much we didn't get to but ran out of time -- craft room, roller-skating, hikes. There are restaurants available. The place is beautiful, can't wait to go back for fall leaf season or winter sports.
