I came here for a wedding. I was impressed by the parking lot. There was plenty of parking to accommodate guests. The ceremony was held outside. After the ceremony, we head inside for cocktail hour. The staff were attentive and quick to assist. I took a tour of the place. There were 3 to 4 rooms of different sizes. I like the room my friend used for her wedding, because of the natural light that lit up the room. That natural light came in handy when the venue lost power! For about 15 minutes, all the power went out. We were told PSE&G were doing a repair nearby which is why the power went out. The power did come back quickly so it didn't affect the wedding. The food is what I was impressed with the most at this place. The best penne alla vodka pasta I ever had! It was a small portion since it was part of the cocktail hour. But holy cow I had to ask for another plate. Everyone at my table agreed. The main meal was good. Nothing negative to say about it. It was simply good. I don't normally eat dinner rolls especially since I had a lot of carbs eating two plates of penna alla vodka pasta. Something about the dinner roll was sooo good. I kept eating it since no one at my table was touching it. I must have eaten 4 rolls. The friend I came with tried it since she saw me eating it. She also agreed the dinner roll was delicious. I would literally have a wedding here because I know people would enjoy the food and service this place provides.

This was a banquet hall with multiple rooms and an outdoor patio for seating too. I was in the room on the lower floor for a memorial luncheon. It was spacious with plenty of available tables. The service was friendly and appreciated. Regarding the food, there was a variety to choose from. There were wraps, Caesar salad, roasted vegetables, pasta salad, chicken Francaise, sliced beef, penne vodka, roasted potatoes, etc. It was all solid for the most part. I won't explain everything I ate, but just give some high-level thoughts. The Caesar salad was decent. The Caesar dressing was watered down. My favorite was the beef entrée, cooked nicely with plenty of flavor. Regarding dessert, they had Neapolitan ice cream with several cookie choices. The chocolate chip cookie was outstanding. It was much better than I thought it would be. It was soft and gooey while going together well with the ice cream. Will I go back? Yes.

This was the perfect place for my cousins small baby shower. The terrace room was gorgeous and the place itself is very clean enforcing all covid protocols. I could definitely see this place as a great party/sweet 16 place. I loathe catering hall food but this place was the best! The vodka sauce was drinkable, and everyone wanted seconds from the buffet (IMO you can have all the bells and whistles but if the food is awful I won't want to return). Thank you all for a beautiful day!

Gazebo where we were married at Gran Centurions

We were married here on June 13, 2021! We had our ceremony and reception here and I honestly have zero complaints. Only good things can be said. From our initial meeting with Gary the owner to my calls in to Joanne!Al was our maître d' and seriously he anticipated every single one of our needs and then some! He put together my candy bar and it looked amazing! He kept the flow of things moving perfectly and flawlessly! He's been in this business for a long time and it shows! He is seriously an amazing human who made me always feel like he cared and I never felt like his time was divided! As the bride I could not have asked for a better experience!!! As I was getting ready I had Arcadia helping me and she was a gem! She helped me get dressed and she helped me keep calm and stay focused on the good things! She held my dress for me and helped me get around before the ceremony! She even came in clutch when I'm the bracelet I had was too small for me and gave me a beautiful brand new bracelet that I have not taken off since! We got so many compliments on the food and the beauty of the room. We loved the food so much that we already ordered trays of food for Father's Day from them! We had the terrace room. It was so beautiful with the balcony and the windows! They decorate everything so nicely there and having the balcony was a huge plus for the smokers in the family. They weren't outcasts and could still be part of things because of the wall of windows. If someone who was smoking was needed they were able to quickly come right back in not missing anything. These little things matter!!! I'm so happy and so proud of our wedding!

What Can I say about Gran Centurions? Well, I came here last week for an NJIT event for work. The Hall wasn't very large or anything spectacular but we had 200 guests to accommodate for and we all fit in conveniently. Every staff member was polite and at the end of the night they were flexible with providing two bills for us. One for food and one for the renting the venue. We needed to have the bills split that way purposely and not many locations provide that service which we were grateful for. There was a cash bar and hors d' oeuvres going around. There was coconut shrimp, calamari, stuffed mushrooms, and chicken skewers. When it was time for the food to come out, they were unfortunately late and the executive table didn't receive their salads. That wasn't a good start to upset the executives. There were three different entree options to choose from; chicken, salmon, or vegetarian. I selected the salmon entree and was not impressed. The butter sauce on the salmon was too tart and not the right type of butter sauce for a salmon in my opinion. The entree came along with veggies and mashed potatoes but was like a brûlée. It was hard for the most part and who wants hard mashed potatoes? Dessert was only one option.... ice cream. It was 20 degrees out. Again, the executive table did not receive their coffee and received their ice cream five minutes before leaving. Not to mention, the ice cream had that icy texture so we knew it was probably old. Sad to say, we won't be utilizing Gran Centurions facility next year. The plus side, it is located in a nice town.

Leading up to our wedding, the owners were uncooperative and made the planning process more stressful than it needed to be. Since the venue claims that my concerns are unfounded and an anomaly of their 5-star reviews, here are the specific examples of our less-than-favorable experience: The week before our wedding, during our pre-event walkthrough, we discovered that the owners had made several cosmetic changes to the venue that were not communicated to us in advance. While we were notified of larger renovation changes, some major cosmetic changes were neglected--such as white-washing the exposed brick in the atrium area. This change, while likely done to expand the appeal of the venue, should have been communicated to a bride ahead of time and not discovered a week before the wedding. This lack of transparency was unsettling and frustrating. Adding to this frustration, the day before our wedding, the venue allowed us an hour to set up our chuppa for the ceremony. While my husband and his brothers were there, the owners stood with their arms crossed, watching them put together the chuppa, claiming my husband was damaging the floor (which was not true), asking for ID and proof of insurance, and generally exhibiting intimidating tactics. This added unnecessary tension during an already stressful time. The owners admittedly thought my husband was a vendor, but this does NOT justify nor dismiss their behavior and attempts to intimidate him. This behavior was unprofessional and left a negative impression on us and our families. During setup on the day of our wedding, our florist was placing flowers on the fountain in the atrium. My planner was called by the venue's coordinator and questioned about the flowers. However, at our pre-event walkthrough the week before, the venue had a representative present who knew that we planned to have flowers on the fountain and never mentioned that it wasn't a possibility. Lastly, the morning of the wedding, I paid extra to arrive early to use the bridal suite to get ready. The owners reside in the building next door and there is a hidden door between the two buildings. This access point leads to a catwalk directly outside the bridal suite. As we arrived and were getting ready with hair, makeup, and dressing, the owner came from his next-door residence right onto that catwalk outside the bridal suite. The owners were well aware that we rented the space that morning and should not have accessed the venue while my bridal party and I were in the bridal suite. After how they treated my husband the day before, it is easy to interpret this surprise visit as more intimidation by the owners. Most disappointing was the venue's response after the wedding. I asked my planner to arrange a time for me to directly discuss some of these issues. My planner was told that they refuse to address my concerns and feedback, claiming instead that my issues lie at the feet of her, my planner, and our caterer, and that their plethora of 5-star reviews speak for themselves. I, too, reached out directly to discuss these issues with the venue's coordinator and was met with the same resistance; my text message was ignored. This unprofessionalism and disregard for our concerns were extremely disappointing and added to our overall negative experience. Here is my response to their claims: My specific concerns are with the management of the venue and their treatment of us and our vendors. No venue should rest on their laurels of 5-star reviews and ignore a less-than-favorable experience by a customer.

The main entrance had small decorated trees trimmed with gold ornaments and garland. This Christmas Party had a really fun DJ who had the entire room and staff dancing. He kept everyone happy and upbeat. Who knew a bunch of doctors, staff and friends could let loose on the dance floor. In the far corner was a photo booth and props for any of the guests to partake in. All the food was buffet style. In the center of the room were platters of Roasted Vegetables,Tossed Salad, Antipasto too. The dinner was set up Buffet Style. They served Penne al la Pink Vodka, Fresh Steamed Veggies, Chicken Franchise in a White Wine Sauce, Seafood Paella, Beef Burgundy with Mushrooms, and Roasted Potatoes. The food was all very good, I was quite surprised because banquet food is usually just ok. The WESTWOOD did a wonderful job. The beef was super tender. The Seafood Paella was loaded with Shrimps, Scallops, Mussels, Clams, and Crab on top Yellow Rice. The Chicken franchise was pounded thin the way it's supposed to be and had a delicious lemon butter sauce. The Penne al la Pink Vodka had a great creamy sauce served over al dente penne pasta. The WESTWOOD has many different size banquet rooms. It's not just for weddings. The staff was very friendly and polite. On the main level is a coat check room. The waiters did a really good job removing plates , cleaning up and replenishing water pitchers etc. For dessert they served warm individual ramekins of baked apple cobbler and a server then topped it with a scoop of French Vanilla Ice Cream. Wow! Was this ever good. The other dessert served was a Brownie with a baked looking Pavlova drizzled with chocolate sauce and topped with fresh strawberries. It looked really good but I was full. In a room directly off our banquet room was where the bar was located. For the party it was open bar with premium alcohol. Needless to say everyone was very happy and this Christmas Party was definitely a success. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to have a party.

I've been to the one in Red Bank but never to the Westfield one. The pricing was super reasonable - I got each of my kids wristbands and paid at the end. We were probably there for about an hour and 45 minutes and for both of them it cost me $31.00. Not bad at all. They played so many games - from old school Ninja Turtles, to The Simpsons, to Paper Boy, to duck hunt, to skee ball, to pool, to air hockey, and the coolest Atari pong table I've ever seen - they had SO much fun. The workers were very kind and helpful. They set up one of the consoles for them to play on. They played a little Minecraft (though none of them knew what they were doing). They workers even helped them a little, which was very kind since it was so busy. We will definitely stop by again, it was so much fun, I might even play next time!
