By the time guests arrived, a waitress was ready to serve the Hors d oeuvres, she was professional and friendly at the same time. They kept rotating them several times so all guests were offered each at least twice. The Hors d oeuvres served (after confirmation with my future mother-in-law) were: Baby Bella Caprese Stuffed Mushroom Eggplant and Holland Pepper Bruschetta Battered Dripped Shrimp with a basil herb remoulade Asparagus wrapped with Prosciutto I've only had the bruschetta, and a lot of it, and found it to be delicious. The guests kept taking the Hors d oeuvres so I imagined they enjoyed it and weren't just hungry. While the Hors d oeuvres were served, Barbara and an assistant were working on the main dishes. Our buffet included: Italian Antipasto salad with Imported Chianti Wine Vinegar (contains, mild provolone, olives, grape tomatoes and artichoke hearts with Romaine & Radicchio) Chicken Castelli (artichokes, sundried tomatoes and black olives in a very light chicken & white wine stock) Pork loin wrapped in Pancetta Black Truffle Cheese Sacchetti (pasta purse) with a fresh & roasted tomato sauce. Seasonal Grilled Vegetable Platter with Fig Balsamic glaze Assorted Breads I've had the pasta purse (and a lot of it), the Italian Antipasto salad and the seasonal grilled vegetables. Everything was good but I simply couldn't get enough of the pasta. Dessert was also served afterwards, accompanied by tea and coffee, but I am not much of a dessert person so skipped it for the most part. The food was delicious, they left the kitchen looking great afterward, the service was impeccable and the whole experience seemed seamless. Highly recommended!

My husband and I wanted a venue we could bring our own catering into and have a comfortable size wedding we can put our own touch on - rather than the typical catering hall. This is a completely DIY space, however they do provide tables, chairs. Everything else you bring in yourself, which is exactly what we wanted. Pictures don't do this place justice, the light that comes through the windows and how open and spacious it feels made us really fall in love with Greenhouse Loft. It also has a really unique vibe with the old wooden floors, factory windows, and the painted brick walls. I was in constant communication with Arnold and Veronica throughout the whole experience. We met with Arnold at the venue multiple times and was more than happy to walk though everything with us. Veronica was absolutely amazing with corresponding to emails and going over details as well as handing any questions and concerns I had. By the week of the event I was completely confident in all the arrangements made since Veronica made sure to go over everything with me. The wedding couldn't have gone better and smoother. Getting into the venue was easy and all the vendors were able to find the venue. It helps to have that driveway space leading to the door so they had access right to the door to load/unload. Our photographer had a field day with the natural lighting and our guests gave us so many compliments the space itself and how awesome it was. We even had a few people who loved it so much they we talking about having their own parties there. Veronica and Arnold went above and beyond and made this experience a breeze. They even surprised us with a personalized sign that was put in front of the driveway leading guests inside. When we needed anything they were quick to help us the day of too. If I had to provide any negative it would be that we had a few people uninvited come into the venue without our consent during the wedding. We had to tell them to leave since it was a private event. Even though we had a sign that said a wedding was going on, possibly roping off the driveway once the party begins would definitely help solve that issue. That single negative though held no bearing to how amazing our wedding was, how much we loved the venue, and how great Veronica and Arnold were at helping to coordinate the event. DON'T HESITATE TO BOOK YOUR PARTY HERE!!

Beautiful Venue, Disappointing Experience While the James…read moreWard Mansion is undeniably a unique and beautiful venue, our overall experience was unfortunately disappointing. Leading up to our wedding, the owners were uncooperative and made the planning process more stressful than it needed to be. Since the venue claims that my concerns are unfounded and an anomaly of their 5-star reviews, here are the specific examples of our less-than-favorable experience: The week before our wedding, during our pre-event walkthrough, we discovered that the owners had made several cosmetic changes to the venue that were not communicated to us in advance. While we were notified of larger renovation changes, some major cosmetic changes were neglected--such as white-washing the exposed brick in the atrium area. This change, while likely done to expand the appeal of the venue, should have been communicated to a bride ahead of time and not discovered a week before the wedding. This lack of transparency was unsettling and frustrating. Adding to this frustration, the day before our wedding, the venue allowed us an hour to set up our chuppa for the ceremony. While my husband and his brothers were there, the owners stood with their arms crossed, watching them put together the chuppa, claiming my husband was damaging the floor (which was not true), asking for ID and proof of insurance, and generally exhibiting intimidating tactics. This added unnecessary tension during an already stressful time. The owners admittedly thought my husband was a vendor, but this does NOT justify nor dismiss their behavior and attempts to intimidate him. This behavior was unprofessional and left a negative impression on us and our families. During setup on the day of our wedding, our florist was placing flowers on the fountain in the atrium. My planner was called by the venue's coordinator and questioned about the flowers. However, at our pre-event walkthrough the week before, the venue had a representative present who knew that we planned to have flowers on the fountain and never mentioned that it wasn't a possibility. Lastly, the morning of the wedding, I paid extra to arrive early to use the bridal suite to get ready. The owners reside in the building next door and there is a hidden door between the two buildings. This access point leads to a catwalk directly outside the bridal suite. As we arrived and were getting ready with hair, makeup, and dressing, the owner came from his next-door residence right onto that catwalk outside the bridal suite. The owners were well aware that we rented the space that morning and should not have accessed the venue while my bridal party and I were in the bridal suite. After how they treated my husband the day before, it is easy to interpret this surprise visit as more intimidation by the owners. Most disappointing was the venue's response after the wedding. I asked my planner to arrange a time for me to directly discuss some of these issues. My planner was told that they refuse to address my concerns and feedback, claiming instead that my issues lie at the feet of her, my planner, and our caterer, and that their plethora of 5-star reviews speak for themselves. I, too, reached out directly to discuss these issues with the venue's coordinator and was met with the same resistance; my text message was ignored. This unprofessionalism and disregard for our concerns were extremely disappointing and added to our overall negative experience. Here is my response to their claims: My specific concerns are with the management of the venue and their treatment of us and our vendors. No venue should rest on their laurels of 5-star reviews and ignore a less-than-favorable experience by a customer.
