Grams kitchen has been getting worse and worse over the past few years. The condiments are refilled into the oldest bottles where the tags are pealing off. The menus are sticky and the place has a strange smell. The food isn't consistent but the staffs " don't give a f***" attitude is. There is also a outbreak of " resting b*** face" with the staff and most guests. On the positive side, the places has interesting wall paintings of local businesses and people. read more

It has been a very long time since my husband and I have eaten at grams kitchen. Today's experience was one of the worst breakfasts I have had in five years. The service was awful and there was only 3 other tables with customers (that should have been my first clue) it was not clean and the food was horrific! The pancake was over cooked, bacon looked sad and the served something they called grits (how do you mess up grits? ) the sign out front said welcome bikers. .. i say ride right by. Unfortunately I will only give this a two star rating because the service was very good. The food could be much better. I ordered Grandma's Omelette since the menu made it sound so good. I ordered my hash Browns well done and crispy. Sour dough toast which was hardly toasted at all. To start with the hash Browns were not well done, in fact they looked like they were on the grill for two minutes. No brown at all. The omelette was way over cooked and the very dark brown overcooked eggs were hidden inside the omelette. The worst part about everything was the amount of grease. They obviously use a Mel Fry type grease way too much. When I pressed my fork on the top of the omelette the grease oozed out of the top of the omelette. Same with the Hash Browns, sitting in a lake of grease. Such a shame because everything looks great about the restaurant. Close to home, little country atmosphere, great waitresses, but the cooks definitely did not look like Grandma nor the owners. Somehow shorts and a t-shirt should not qualify as a cooks uniform. read more

Terrible service- woman acted like she was a doing us a favor to take our drink order and then served other two tables first. How is a breakfast waitress going to give me attitude for ordering coffee and water? The fact that they still have Christmas decorations up in February should have been a dead giveaway that this place a way off their game from previous years. read more

Grams kitchen was a let down for us. Our waitress was rude, never asked to refill our coffee and had a bad attitude. We also had to pay before our food even arrived at our table. My potatoes tasted a few days old and had a strange chemical aftertaste like oven cleaner and if that wasn't bad enough I found hair in them, the eggs were runny and the biscuits were way too dry and hard..I imagine those were a few days old as well.The place also had a weird dirty smell upon entering...that should have been a red flag for us, but we decided to give this place a try anyways... We won't be coming back to eat here though. read more

What happened to this place? It used to be delicious. The wait staff seemed tired the last couple of times we came in. The food doesn't taste homemade. Too many things on the menu. This was a sad experience. I can say that the drink was OK,but no one asked if I needed a refill. My husband had the coffee, he said ," it was good ". But then , no one refilled his coffee. My food was just warm,had two butter packets pushed into the grits. The butter almost didn't melt in the grits. Also the scrambled eggs with cheese, I ordered were just warm too. I had eaten half of them,when I noticed that the we're not done . they were raw underneath of them. Yuck! I couldn't eat them. I started to attempt to eat the biscuit I had ordered and it was dry and tasted old and freezer burnt. I didn't complain, because I didn't want my husband to get upset. I will not return. The food is actually good at this restaurant, which is sad because the service is terrible. I have gone there at least 5 times hoping to have a better experience each time, but each time it has gotten progressively worse. The servers are never friendly, tables are left dirty, orders take 45-60 minutes (for a cheeseburger) to get and that does not include the 10-15 minute wait to actually order the food. I live right down the road and the dining options are limited in the area, which is why I have tried it so many times, but I will not go back again. The people that work there are extremely rude and they act as if they are inconvenienced by the fact that they actually have to work. read more

Our experience was terrible. Our waitress was awful, not personable and did not seem to care. Sweet tea tasted too pungent with sugar, had to literally POUR water into it to water it down, our food came out wrong, pancakes were supposed to be chocolate chip. Came back burnt to a crisp and had black pieces all over it. Hash browns were too burnt, tasted like potato chips, eggs were runny, and our waitress gave us gruff about wanting to take off one stack of pancakes when we found a long HAIR in them. Manager did not apologize or acknowledge that we had a bad experience, not a place we will be going back. Not happy at all. My boyfriend and I have both worked in the food industry and are forgiving when it comes to mistakes because we have been there, but not these kinds of mistakes. read more

We were driving by at breakfast time, thought the place was popular because the parking lot was nearly full--thought we'd have to wait for a table, but there were lots of open seats. Service was friendly and efficient, modest pricing, coffee was weak, hash browns were OK, Eggs Benedict Hollandaise sauce looked and tasted like chicken gravy, corned beef hash was not good. I give this place a half a star I only give it a half a star because after sitting for a half an hour we asked the manager about our order and the cook told him he hadn't started it yet I give the half star because the manager being a decent fellow and trying to make up for the in adequacy of his staff gave us the sodas we had ordered for freeThe waitstaff and the manager seem to be pleasant and competent I think there is a serious problem with their cook it seems he is not totally enthusiastic about his position as a line cook. The serves was Terrible, the waitress I had was a mid age women that was pregnant dark hair. Very rude!! There was 5 of us and we waited forever to get a table which there was lots available. Then ordered drinks and they sat there for more then 10 minutes I had to go ask a waitress to please pass me are drinks to bring back to our table. We were ordering and when she was collecting our menus she said let me have them before you change your mind very ignortly. So at that point our party of five got up and left. She seen us leaving and said yall don't come back now and my husband turned around and said what did u say and she says yall come back with a smile. The five of us know what we heard. The fish fry was a joke, worst diner food I have ever had. We tried the restaurant one more time thinking it may have just been what we ordered and sadly it wasn't any better. I gave it two stars because I do enjoy driving by on 17-92 and seeing their sign change daily depending on what day it is.. Went there this afternoon for lunch. One of the chefs was wiping his forehead with a disgustingly dirty towel and without washing his hands, continued to make a salad. The other chef was shaking his head full of dreadlocks while also making a salad and I am surprised there was no hair in the food. He was also peeling a hard boiled egg with his bare hands after he scratched his head. There was another woman who seemed to be a manager who really needed to clean herself up. I had been planning to go to this restaurant for a while, so I was excited when we finally had an opportunity to go. Huge mistake. The restaurant looked old, but sometimes those places have some of the best food. I ordered the Lucas which is two pancakes, two sausage, and two eggs. I also ordered a side of home fries. The eggs were cooked perfectly. That being said, everything else was so bad. The pancakes had a floury consistency that coated my mouth. The home fries looked like they had been sitting around all morning and were dry with no seasoning, or anything added like onions etc. . Adding salt and pepper later was a waste because it just bounced off the potatoes. The coffee tasted stale and almost borderline burnt. The sausage was flavorless too. Then the waitress at the next table was talking up their Mac and Cheese, so I ordered a side of that to replace my fries. That literally had no flavor beyond macaroni and cheese. I had to add salt and pepper to that and it had been reheated in the microwave so the cheese was so hard and chewy. The server was attentive and came by to ask if we needed anything. All in all, the service was really good but the food will definitely keep me away. Not sure how well they're doing financially, but I think it might be time for Robert Irvine and his team at Restaurant Impossible to step in. read more
