Quick Review: Overall 3 stars, because it's a chain,…read moredoesn't matter if it's a Denny's or an I-Hop, the food is pretty production line quality. If you've ever been to classic diners like the ones featured on Guy Fieri's such as Sam's #3 in Aurora Colorado (miss those days living out in the Rockies), then you know that special something when you sit down and all the locals come out and congregate for brunch...well didn't get that feel here. However, 5/5 stars to the chef. Let me explain. And don't get me wrong, the server was fantastic. The setting was in the retail section of the Joplin Petro Truck Stop, being a fairly dim but rather quiet corner. In all my years of trucking, on the road, whether it be at a Denny's in a truck stop, or a Black Bear diner, Waffle House, another Iron Skillet, or i-Hop, whenever I order medium rare on a steak, it would always end up on opposite ends of the spectrum-- either very well done OR bloodshot rare. So when my server brought me a true medium rare steak, there was this aura of sacredness to it. I simply didn't expect the chef was going to make it to that likeness...and he proved me wrong. It just shows, that there are still individuals on planet Earth that know how to grill up an everyday New York steak and not destroy it. , Thank you Jesus this art form is still alive and well. But of course going back to the quality and satisfaction levels of eating the food, I still want to stick to a 3. It's a truck stop, it's a chain, it tastes very manufactured production line quality. Like if you walked into any Flying J or Pilot, whatever they have in the hot food trays, it's on par with that. Basically the Caesars Salad, the Mashed Potatoes, but the steak was how a New York strip would taste but on the saltier side. Until next time, maybe I'll check out that other diner in Barstow CA on route 66

Iron Skillets are pretty common at truck stops, but this one really stood out for the service and consistency. Hot food, quick service, and our drinks were never empty. It's always such a nice break to sit down and enjoy a real meal instead of grabbing deli or fast food. The menu is familiar, the portions are solid, and everything came out fresh and fast. Great staff, great service, and a perfect spot to relax for a bit before getting back on the highway. We'll definitely be stopping again.

With that being said, THIS PLACE MAKES DELICIOUS FOOD! I was traveling through this town, and a friend recommended this restaurant. All you can eat Chinese - I was thinking "Aww c'mon, I don't want all you can eat Chinese, the quality is usually Sub-Par" And I was Completely Wrong -Boneless fried chicken. It was Awesome - I haven't had a better boneless fried chicken at any restaurant that I have been to -Chicken wings - very good. All you can eat too? -Pork Dumplings - Awesome, better than any pork dumplings I have had at an all you can eat, and most Chinese Restaurant, regardless - and all you can eat? -Spring Rolls - very good, top notch, as good as the best Chinese Restaurants that I have been to -RICE! I love rice, the white rice they had, had eggs in it, A nice touch as a rice, I thought it was AWESOME - if you look at it as a fried rice (which I didn't) you could think it was a lacking fried rice, but as a regular white rice, it was Wonderful. -Desserts, were very good, a coffee mousse cake - Wonderful, Ice Cream, not bad - and of course - ALL YOU CAN EAT Ambiance was good. Nice atmosphere Service was awesome, they kept the food coming for their customers, nothing ever seemed short. The Chef or Chefs were working hard to keep the customers happy, which I would think of as fans. I had eaten their 1 time only, and now I am a fan Price was beyond fair. It was a very good price for great food. I went with 5 stars because I am not a fan of what looks like common Chinese Restaurants, and I haven't been able to find an all you can eat restaurant that I have enjoyed (truly all you can eat, no time limits or whatever new trendy things that are referred to AllYouCanEat) and the staff was very friendly I judged this book by its cover, and I was Absolutely wrong, this place is awesome and now I am a fan!

The waitresses are attentive and keep your coffee cup full. I especially want to note; at both lunch and breakfast i saw their people taking food temperatures on the buffet. That is a first anywhere. Plus i saw it at both meals. That means they take food safety very seriously. Yes, my favorite and i highly recommend.

Every tray was carried for every diner with a greeting and a smile. What I saw was hard-working people keeping every drink full. The guys behind the buffet had to constantly deal with kids standing in the way as they carried hot food from the kitchen. No one was rude or even short with anyone patrons. My waitress, Jacqueline, was so very sweet. She kept my drinks full and got me extra plates. Don't listen to the hateful comments on here. This place had great, fresh food with awesome service. I plan to always come back in the future. Next time I'll try the omelet station. It looked amazing!

The sushi was pretty good (but once again, not lifechanging -- just pretty good). The hibachi was quick and well-made. We weren't sure if we would be charged a flat rate or by plate, but for lunch it ended up being a flat rate (way cheaper than expected for how much we ate)! TL;DR, good, clean place to grab a yummy lunch but probably won't be getting any Michelin stars any time soon.

Amazin Buffet - Mediocre at Best…read more Let's start with the food. My wife and I both tried a wide variety of items, but unfortunately, most of what we tried was bland and lacked flavor. There were a few things that stood out. The crab rangoons were very good, and the pepper chicken was pretty good as well, although I've definitely had better. The hot and sour soup had good flavor, but it was noticeably watered down. Unfortunately, the sushi was dried out and nearly tasteless, and even the sweet and sour sauce seemed extremely watered down. Overall, I would describe the food as mediocre at best. There simply wasn't much that made the meal memorable or made me want to go back. The service was pretty standard throughout the meal, but when it was time to leave, we actually had to stop our server and ask for our check. Not a huge issue, but certainly not the kind of service you expect when dining out. Affordability was another disappointment. Our bill for two people came to about $50 before the tip, and I always tip for good service. At that price, I expect considerably more from a buffet. To be fair, the experience wasn't horrible. We didn't have a terrible meal, and there were a couple of items we enjoyed. However, there just wasn't enough good about the experience to justify spending that kind of money or giving it a second chance. Unfortunately, I can't recommend Amazin Buffet. There are better options out there for the money.
