I want to like them so much! Their customer service is always so wonderful. My only issue is that all the men's dress shirts come back with a couple broken buttons. I asked them if they could just try their best to not break any more buttons on the next few drop offs. They were very polite but the shirts came back with broken buttons again. read more

I started using Gramercy cleaners because of the location and good reviews. By far the worst experience I've ever had with a cleaners. Actually, the only really bad experience I've had with a cleaners. I had issues with just about every order of shirts. Whether it was snags on my shirts, spots I hadn't seen before, poorly pressed, you name it. They have the press way too hot and it makes the shirts as stiff as cardboard around your wrists. I really wanted it work with these guys so I was giving them the benefit of the doubt until they lost 2 of my shirts, including a brand new custom shirt. When I brought it up, the owner insisted he didn't have it. I noticed that mentality from the beginning. They are always quick to blame you instead of having the "customer is always right" mentality. I told him I would check my house but I was positive I didn't have those shirts. It took me SEVERAL weeks of stopping by and asking about them until they found them. NO apology from them or signs of remorse. This is my first Yelp review ever. Want to make sure you don't have this happen to you! ***Update*** So, three months later, I've switched to another cleaners and I've had no issues. I noticed that Rebecca M.'s experience from her review below was very similar to mine. I noticed that the owner responder to her review and mentioned he replaced the counter help. Well, I was dealing directly with the owner. After blaming me and insisting he didn't have my shirts, he found them after I went by several times and was not apologetic. They have an introductory deal, and I like their location / website, so I gave them a shot. They cleaned my suits fine, but their chemicals messed up the buckles on my trench coat. The staff member at the front desk was, in my opinion, unprofessional after I went back to report this. He took the coat and told me the owner would give me a call the next day. I didn't hear from anyone, and followed up again, once in person and once over the phone, in the next few days. Every time, the staff member insisted the owner would call me the next day and kept giving me different excuses. I think the right thing to do would have been to either 1) give me a realistic time frame as to when I'd be called or 2) proactively call me and let me know if any delays / complications had arisen. Finally, when I visited a third time, I spotted the owner. From there, the owner handled things well by apologizing and ordered new buckles for me. Also, two of the times I went in person to the cleaners', there was a representative from LA Fitness trying to recruit members there. The first time, the representative was really pushy about the gym membership. And both times, she stood right next to me at the front desk, listening in on my conversation with the staff member about my dry-cleaning and then asking me questions about what went wrong. It was off-putting. In conclusion, if you're just getting suits done, you shouldn't have a problem. But if you do have a problem, you might have unpleasant interactions with the staff. read more

I've spent thousands of dollars at this establishment over the past 3 years and I've had hit or miss service. They frequently break buttons on expensive designer shirts. I've had to take many shirts back to have the buttons fixed and also have to consistently remind them to take extra care and not break any buttons. My wife stopped by tonight to pick up her white dress pants that she specifically dropped off to have pink lip gloss removed from her pants. She informed the employee about the fresh stain when she dropped off the pants and was told that they should be able to remove the stain. Upon picking up the pants tonight, she asked the employee if they were able to remove the stain and the gentleman stated, "yes, lipstick always comes out." When she got home and looked at the pants, they had not even tried to remove the stain! I'm not sure how you dry clean dress pants and didn't notice a 3-4 inch pink-on-white stain and then proceed to tell us they removed it when she picked up the item. She instead looked up some remedies on the internet and almost has the stain removed herself. We'll be looking for a new dry cleaner for our needs moving forward. Very displeased with this experience. read more

Recently switched back to Gramercy. They do a great job. No nasty dry-cleaning smell. Nicely packaged and great pickup/delivery service.

The worse cleaners ever! Ruined my pants which were not cheap at all. Every single article of clothing i got back was stained and ironed horribly. Never had such a bad experience with any cleaner but this was simply disgusting. read more

Gramercy Cleaners is great - they are fast (usually you can pick up your clothes the day after you dropped them off), have good prices, and efficient. I have never had a problem with all of the clothes I've dropped off and it doesn't feel like a sweat shop in there like other dry cleaners I've tried. Check the prices before dropping off your items. They've apparently have had a price increase, so I asked what the prices were and the employee wasn't sure what they charge! He quoted three different prices but his math never added up to what I was paying, not good. read more

I have used Gramercy Cleaners since they first opened and I love these cleaners! They are always professional and courteous when I drop off and pickup my cleaning. My pet peeve with cleaners has always been the funky smell from the products they use. Not at Gramercy! Clothes are always clean smelling and perfectly pressed. Not quite sure why these cleaners have good reviews. I live within walking distance, so I started taking our dry cleaning here a couple months ago. Every single time, I asked for heavy starch, and every single time, they did not do it. In addition all the shirts are creased and wrinkled when I get them back. They do a TERRIBLE job. Out of the five or so times I went (tried to make it work since it is so close), four of those times, I had to take all the shirts back to be redone. I just picked up two redos today, and they look just as wrinkled as the first time I had them dry cleaned. DON'T waste your time going here, unless you don't mind wearing clothes that are wrinkled and unkempt. Oh, and the young girl that works there is very Rude and gives terrible customer service. One time, she refused to redo my dry cleaning, was very rude and unprofessional, and I had to call the owner to complain. In other news, I did just find a new awesome dry cleaners that blows Gramercy Cleaners out of the water. They are Bellaire City Cleaners at 6208 S Rice. They are sooooooo much better that Gramercy. We picked up my husband's dress shirts Friday, and not one of them has a wrinkle. They are hung with all of the sleeves folded forward to prevent creasing, and they did heavy starch, just like I asked. Their prices are very reasonable also. The staff is very friendly and even took my dry cleaning out to the car for me. Next on my agenda is to give them a SUPER DUPER review to Bellaire City Cleaners! read more

I have been using this cleaners since I moved back to Houston and my husband liked that it was not a big chain. Until recently, I enjoyed using them though they were not very close to where we moved. Then they lost one of my favorite shirts. When my husband picked up the laundry, the attendant told him a blouse was missing. They could not find it at the time but suggested checking back in case someone turned it in. After several visits he was told that they could give me credit in drying cleaning services for the missing blouse. That was unacceptable to me, being the blouse was expensive (several hundred dollars). When I went in to discuss the situation, the owner happened to be there who I had been trying to call. After explaining the story, he turned it around asking me for proof they lost the blouse, as if I were some random person off the street looking for a way to make a few bucks. Not having my a Saks receipt from when I bought the blouse 5 months ago(surely everyone carries around old receipts for when these situations arise) I asked how he was going to handle it. He wasn't. He didn't care. There was no offer to compromise or work with me. And he didn't care that I had taken clothes in with the intent of leaving them to be cleaned. I left with my dirty clothes and wrote my first review on Yelp. There are a lot of good cleaners in Houston. This just isn't one who cares about the customer. read more

March 26, 2013 Let me tell a story. I dropped off my dry cleaning which consisted of a hand full of button downs, two suits and a jacket. The next day, I realized I left my pen in my coat pocket. I called and I was informed they had my pen, GREAT! I show up and the owner is at the location. I ask for my laundry and mention the pen. They bring out only one set of the three bundles which is my shirts. I then state I have two more pieces that I need to get, the owner went in the back to locate. At this point, they found my clothes but cannot locate my pen. Finally, the pen is in the drawer but I realize it is broken in two pieces. So I understand that I left my pen in the pocket, however, I ask the generic question of "don't you check the pockets before you send off for dry cleaning?" The owner responds with "Yes, the person was supposed to check." I then let the owner know that the pen was a gift from my father and the value of the pen to me both financially and emotionally. The owner stays quite, his employee comments on how much the pen was while the owner turns his back on me and walks to the back with the door closing behind him. Again, I know I should not of left the pen in the jacket, but for an owner of a services store, where your clients are your livelihood, you might want to extend a courteous apology for the situation especially after you comment "the person was supposed to check" So now I am out a nice pen as a gift from my father and a guy snubbing me while I paid him money. I will not take my business back to this place, that is not how you run a business. The dry cleaning was ok, I asked for low starch and the shirts are loaded with it. read more
