I came here on my last night in Paris. It is a perfect place to end a trip in Paris. The food is delicious and the flavors are explosive. I highly recommend this place. They have a very limited menu but that's how you know they are doing it right. They are super focused on the food they are serving for the night. I went with the five course meal. And boy, was I so happy with each course. Of course, I was completely full after the fourth course. Please look at my pictures. I have pictured each meal course. The service is even better than I could have imagined. Our server was friendly and attentive. I recommend this for anyone looking for a classy dinner in Paris, France.

Came here for the 5 course prix fix menu with wine pairings. Amazingly delicious. Ana, the chef, is from Columbia and she cooks everything while her nephew, Sebastien, is the server. Its a two person operation and they serve about 10 people for dinner. Total cost was about 58 euros. What a steal! Tip: Make reservations!

I would say this place was worth the money and a great way to end our last night in Paris and end our whole trip through Europe. The food was delicious and the service was great. Our server was really nice and tried her best to explain each dish in English for us. She was really helpful and made sure we liked each meal. We ordered the 5 course fix menu and it was delicious. It first started with a shrimp ceviche with a mango salsa on top. It was tart and the combination of the sweet mango and tart sauce was delicious. Then, there was a salmon risotto with a crispy cheese on top. I really enjoyed the creamy sauce that the dish came with. Next was a tender lamb that was cooked to perfection. The balsamic reduction was amazing and the lamb was so moist and flavorful. I was so full by the cheese platter, that I just nibbled at the different cheeses. It was a good end to the meal... BUT then they gave me dessert which was a delicious caramel mousse. Yes! I love caramel and I love mousse, so when they put the two things together it was heaven. I was so full, but somehow I managed to clear this dessert.

Leek soup w yum on top, cod w fruit and vegetables, chicken w potatoes, mango panna cotta, my empty, almost licked clean plate.

The food and wine pairing with the "surprise" menus were top notch. The wine expert (I think he is the director of the wine tasting room below restaurant) could speak a little English but allowed us to take photos of the wine labels so I can do my own research later. Very polite and friendly staff. Our waiter spoke English and would look up words for us to describe the dishes. Food was very good but the wine really enhanced the flavors. We had dishes that were fresh and what was in season. Leek soup, cod with fruits and vegetables, cheese plate with dried apricot which was sweeten perfectly, my husband got an extra plate of chicken with puréed potatoes, mango panna cotta for dessert. We got to see the wine cellar below their restaurant after our meal. Very welcoming and sweet staff and overall vibe from the restaurant.

On the other hand, it made me realize that my mother was a terrible cook. Bistro des Augustins is a small, cozy venue offering both indoor seating and terrace seating near Pont Neuf. It serves a small number of curated dishes, including a wonderfully traditional Bistro Gratin in a homey ceramic dish served piping hot with a brown crispy cheesy top, herbs, spices and chicken. You can also get it with salmon. My brothers and I only saw my mother use our gas range to light her cigarettes, sanitize needles to remove our splinters, and make s'mores during the summer months when she couldn't muster the energy to take us 'outside camping.' I mean, all she had to do was borrow a cookbook, which I'm sure were readily available from maybe a neighbor or in any local bookstore or the public library. How hard is that? I was the only kid who brought a can of tuna and his own monogrammed can opener to school every day. Every day. And mom convinced me that the tuna holster she got me for my birthday was cool and hip. I was a naive mercury-filled fool, although I did become a very fast runner in junior high school because of the tuna holster. The interior décor of Bistro des Augustins is informal and vintage bistro style - wooden tables, traditional chalkboard menus, and soft lighting - creating a relaxed and comfy ambiance. My eyes have been opened to what's possible. Thank you Bistro des Augustins for expanding my culinary horizons. Five stars.

THE FOOD ------------------…read more= Fermier - Cheese gratin with chicken was good. Didn't blow me away, but was solid with the creaminess of the sliced potatoes and emmental cheese combined together with mixed vegetables. The cheese was very strong though, so anything else was unfortunately pretty much overpowered by it. Arrived with bread, but it DEFINITELY could use other carb options to sop it all up (e.g., rice???)! = Landais - Cheese gratin with duck. Same comment as the above, except the Landais had egg and goat cheese also mixed in with almost the same ingredients as the Fermier. THE SERVICE ----------------------- + The lone waitress, who also worked the role as greeter, cashier and bartender was friendly. + Food arrived within 10 minutes of ordering. THE SURROUNDINGS ------------------------------------ = Small, tight restaurant. = Not many tables inside - 6 in total. + Located a few blocks away from the more touristy restaurants, towards the East, on a much quieter street. RANDOM OBSERVATIONS -------------------------------------- = Nada.

We passed by a few other cafes but this one caught our eye because of how it's right by the corner with a view of the gardens. We checked in with the server and we chose to sit outside. I ordered the duck breast - very tender and flavorful, sauce was divine and the aligot was soooo creamy! I also posted what my friends ordered. We had wine too with our food. They have a charger by the bar so while we are people watching and eating I had time to charge my phone. While we were seated outside it began to rain so we asked for a table inside so we can have desserts. The restaurant was full but they let us wait by the bar. After maybe 10 mins we were seated upstairs and I got hot chocolate and we shared crème brûlée, chocolate mouse and tarte tatin. We all love it - they weren't too sweet. Best place to sit outside, people watch and enjoy their food and wine
