Really good hardware stores, are more than a nice-to-have, they're a necessity. Located on Main…read moreSt, parking can be difficult at times but that's the biggest drawback. Goldberg's has just about every hardware necessity you could need; paint, tools, keys, wood glue, they got it all. Service is great as everyone working here is family and this actually cares about what they're doing. I didn't have any big questions when I was there, but I heard them helping others and they clearly know what they're talking about. Prices are reasonable. I'll take this any day over sorting through a gigantic warehouse of shit with people who don't want to be there. Local hardware stores are a godsend, and this is no exception.

On multiple visits, he stepped in and interrupted conversations I was having with staff, often in a dismissive and unhelpful way. It disrupted the interaction and made the experience unnecessarily uncomfortable. For example, I was asking about a hex key for my fridge handle. A staff member was explaining that the connection was worn out, and I was clarifying whether I could still get a key that fits the socket. At that point, Mr. Goldberg stepped in and said, "we're not doing repairs," which wasn't what I was asking. Similar interruptions have happened 2-3 times, so it doesn't feel like a one-off.

Prices are fair, it's old school, they have a phenomenal option of exotics, and the guys in the yard are helpful and don't have a stick up their ass. If you've never been to a lumber yard/mill and are expecting a Home Depot-esque experience: this isn't it. That being said, call ahead and talk to them. Tell them what you're trying to do and what you're looking for. They'll help you out. Give your business to these fine people and not the big box stores. You'll be thankful you did.

After my experience today I will never go back. I will instead happily drive an extra hour in the opposite direction and pay a higher price to shop at Parkerville because the experience is night and day. I had specifically taken the day off work to visit because ML Condon is only open Mon-Fri. This AM I called to ensure what I needed was available. When I arrived, they in fact did not have it in stock. Allegedly (and what seems like a convenient excuse) someone just came in and purchased the last of it. The manner this news was conveyed was that it was my problem not theirs. Sure, it can happen. Respectfully I asked for them to deliver it to me once it arrived and they said only for a hefty charge. I questioned that given the circumstances and a manager came flying in like a bat out of hell. It was not the fact that they would charge me that was the problem, it was HOW he conveyed the message that sealed why I will never go back. Consider trying some empathy and working with customers to find solutions.
