Cool shop with a friendly employee (didn't get a name, Asian dude) who was patient with me trying different sizes on. Bought a pair of AJ4 UNC for $400 before tax, not amazing prices but good selection of new/used creps. I'm from the UK, so not a SF local. Respect.

PLEASE DOUBLE CHECK YOUR SHOES BEFORE BUYING! Bought a used pair of Game Royal 1s for 300$ today and when I got home I got a closer look and noticed something was off. Both shoes were repainted. They were customized and repainted really poorly. Unfortunately I didn't check them properly before purchasing. Never thought this store will ever finesse someone like that. Been a trustful customer for a while now and never thought this would happen to me.

Cool place. I can't afford anything there but still fun to look. In a good neighborhood with plenty of parking.

He's got such an urban cool style which shows in his artwork and clothing. Most importantly, I love to true SF city feel to the designs. 2.5/5 I came into…read moreRestyled in Stonestown to sell a few pairs of shoes, and while I completely understand that shops have every right to pass on buying something they are unsure about, the way this situation was handled really threw me off. One of the pairs I brought in was the Concord 11 from 2018. I know for a fact they are real because my friend bought them directly from the SNS when they released, and I was literally with him at the time. I saw the order confirmation, the receipt, and the shoes when they arrived. I have never bought fakes in my life, and everyone I buy from either gets them directly from Nike, Adidas, or another authorized source. I am extremely careful about authenticity. When I handed over the Concords, the employee looked them over and said they were fake. The reasons given were the bottoms were yellowing, the soles had the wrong print, the box was wrong, and the glue smell was not right. They even compared my pair to one of theirs and decided mine did not match. Also worth noting, if your shoes have yellowed at all, they count them as used even if you have never worn them once. I have nothing against that policy and just wanted to point it out. I can respect if they are not comfortable making a deal, that is their right. What bothered me was the commentary that came along with it. They made repeated remarks like, "You should get your money back from your friend," "Are you still friends with him?," "You can just wear these fakes because no one will know," and "You got ripped off." Between these comments and the reasons they gave, it honestly made me doubt how well they can authenticate shoes. Yellowing happens to many older shoes, box variations can occur with legitimate releases, and a glue smell is far from a definitive test. When you factor in that I know the full history of the shoes from purchase to now, it is hard to take their verdict seriously. Even after deciding to pass on the Concords, they did not move on. While looking at my other shoes, they kept circling back to the Concords, continuing to explain why they thought they were fake. It just felt like overkill, especially after the decision was already made. On top of that, they started asking me for proof of purchase for my other pairs, as if I might be trying to unload multiple fakes. I get being cautious, but the tone felt more like they were accusing me of something rather than just doing due diligence. The store itself is well kept, clean, organized, and visually appealing. They have a cool key machine for prizes, which adds some fun to the place. The other employee I interacted with was friendly and professional. Pricing on shoes is about what you would expect for a resale shop in a mall. If you are selling, just know their offers tend to be StockX buy now price minus around 30 to 40 dollars, which is reasonable for a business trying to make profit. Bottom line, I did not walk out upset because of the deal. I walked out feeling insulted because of the way they handled it. If they had just said, "We are going to pass," and left it at that, I would probably be giving a completely different rating right now.

Like the other review, this place is really nice. Clean shop with nice presentations. They go by…read morestockx prices; they rip out their phones right away and go by "bid prices" minus 20-30 percent. I don't even think they go by the sale prices. I'll hop over again when I decide what I want to get rid of and see how that goes. Sucks to be accused of fraud when you know your kicks are legit, though. Shows how amateur the worker/owners are. Doubt they'll be around after their lease expires.

Unfortunately for my feet and back, my sneakers of choice are Converse. I have no less than 10 pairs, but not one of them is suitable for the type and volume of walking I'm doing now. I could have easily gone to a DSW or Foot Locker for walking shoes, but knowing myself I would have spun into a spiral of analysis paralysis, second-guessing, and doubt. Instead, I decided to visit On The Run, which I knew about from a former boss who was very particular about her footwear due to her own orthopedic issues. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by sales associate Rahnsom. He led me to a chair and began asking exploratory questions to get a sense of my needs. He took measurements and had me walk around a bit in my socks to see what my feet and ankles were doing. With this information he was able to immediately pull 4 shoes that fit perfectly. He helped me into each pair and had me walk around the store and go up and down a little hiking simulator to test how they felt. He chose very well. Out of the first three pairs, I could have easily walked out with two of them and been happy. Even the pair that I would have passed on was comfortable but a little too high for clumsy me. When I tried on the fourth pair, though, the Goldilocks in me knew that these shoes were just right. Regarding pricing, my particular pair of New Balance was $199. Coming from a Converse budget that may have seemed high, but I was determined to invest in my comfort and safety. Additionally, I place great value on the personalized service and information that Rahnsom provided. Had I gone to a "regular" retail store, I am certain I would have wasted money on the wrong shoe. For example, I had zero idea I was actually an 8 wide. I would have bought a size 9 shoe like I usually do then would have suffered - like I usually do - with a pair that was still too narrow in the front but with my heels moving up and down in the back as I walk. Out of curiosity I just checked online for prices elsewhere on my shoes and I consistently found them at $199. So, in my personal experience so far, On The Run isn't necessarily pricier than other stores. Even if it is, I can't put a price on being able to find the perfect shoe for my situation, in record time and with zero angst and indecision.
