I try to shop local as much as I can. I got a lovely hoodie from Engrafft a bit ago that I still like, but it's now too big for me. I still wear it tho. That hoodie's design has a huge jelly fish drawing on it. I may go back and get something else but I want a t shirt this time. So I did get pretty good service when I went there a bit ago, but wanted to mention that when my friend came into the shop last time he didn't get good service. In fact, he told me he didn't get any service. The staff (not the owner) that was there didn't do much (no "hello!"; no "How can I assist you"; no "are you looking for anything in particular?") so my friend said he left without buying anything and he was going to buy because he likes their designs, too. Very disappointed in the owner of this business. I was a loyal supporter and saw him at a local street fair. I asked if I could try on a shirt and he knew I had makeup on and he said it would be okay as long as I didn't get makeup on the shirt. I tried my best but wound up getting a little makeup on the shirt after HE SAID I could try it on. He then demanded that I pay for the shirt. I did even though it was the wrong size. I remain angry and will never buy anything from this man again. He doesn't respect loyal customers. If he's so worried about his merchandise he should have told me never to try it on. Moreover if he knew what he was doing he could have told me what size would fit just by looking at me. Coercing your customers into buying merchandise isn't a good way to do business, especially when the purported stain ultimately washed out with a little water. I like supporting local businesses but not going to support this one anymore unfortunately. read more

I could not wait to write a review with 5 stars!!!!! I went to an outdoor market in Santa Cruz today and stopped by the Engrafft booth. Such thoughtful artwork. The designs are unique and truly special. I bought two long sleeved t-shirts: black shirt with a white jellyfish and royal blue with a squid. Large design on the back and smaller on the front. The white design on black looks like the image is glowing. White on blue really pops, also. GREAT shirts!!! The quality of the shirt is great. They are soft and wear well on my body. Derek, the artist and owner, is a super nice guy. I highly recommend these long sleeved shirts. read more

I stopped by his shop on Clemente Street in SF and purchased the Tendril Kelp print. I am redecorating my condo in SF.
