I've used this company for annual sprinkler start-up and shut-down, but this year's experience was extremely disappointing. They came out on March 30 to turn on my system. The very next day, I noticed three sprinkler heads leaking--even though the system wasn't scheduled to run. When I checked, the pump was running continuously, and I had to shut off the water myself to prevent it from flooding the sidewalk. I called right away and was told they couldn't return until April 21. I agreed to wait, but made it clear I should not be charged for a second visit since this issue started immediately after their service. When they finally came out, they claimed it was a "different problem" and charged me $300--despite the fact that the issue began right after their initial visit and should have been caught or addressed at that time. Customer service made things worse. One staff member talked over me and was dismissive, and another seemed completely unaware of the situation, even suggesting they needed to come back again after the issue had already been handled. I was told I'd receive a revised invoice, but that never happened. read more

They were easy to work with and they completed all the work even though they had to return a few times to get everything set. My only tip is to ask for photos of the plants that will be installed as I was surprised by the size of the plants. read more

I've used Graham in the past and decided to use them again. We've had weekly service for almost a year. My hands down favorite leads/helpers are Phil, Chris, and Rocky. These three are the best! Phil is hands down the best and most detailed and attentive to my property. He always goes over and beyond! Chris is very precise and methodical and the best edger ever! Whenever Rocky comes out (just depends on the week) the yard looks great and he keeps that same elevated service that Phil and Chris do. We bought our home almost two years ago, and the property--five acres of overgrown land--was already a mess. Then, the ice storm last year made things even worse, with fallen trees and branches all over the place. Honestly, I never thought to take before photos because the yard was such a disaster I couldn't bear to look at it. But the transformation these two guys pulled off is incredible. The difference is night and day. What was once an overwhelming, chaotic mess is now a clean, beautiful, manageable space. I have a yard now LOL I can't believe what just 2 guys were able to accomplish in just a handful of days. Had a great experience with Will and Justin, two extremely solid, square-business dudes, the value for what they did is unbelievable. The previous owner of our home built a chicken coop into the backyard deck (feel free to do the math on how smart that is) I took a crack at removing it last year and thought i was going to bring the house down. These guys made it disappear. They made the whole process a pleasure, and I genuinely enjoyed having them around. It's rare to find a crew that not only does great work but also makes the experience enjoyable. My wife and I have had a tough experience hiring contractors in Eugene but Graham broke that streak. They did a major cleanup of our yard (and forest), and I am thrilled to have found them to continue using them for many projects to come. In Oct. 2024, I contracted with Graham Landscape & Design for a project costing almost $10,000. Their work was well done and CREATIVE. (It was their idea to build the stone mini-walls around the garden plots seen in the attached pictures.) The workers and the managers were attentive to my expectations and sought my approval on any questionable action/option. Unfortunately, half of the new plantings did not survive the winter. After some discussion, their Operations Manager agreed to waive the 90-day warranty period and we reached a satisfactory accommodation to replace the dead plants. Overall, I was quite pleased. We hired Graham Landscaping to fix our fence. The crew removed three sections of fence while only one panel was to be removed in our back yard. This was a large span and they had to spend time pulling boards to piece it back together. Then Dante came and installed a few irrigation heads. He walked all over the beds with large boots and killed the plants the sprinkler heads were intended to keep alive. Graham Landscaping never offered to replace the smashed plants. A neighbor's roots were crossing under our fence. Our neighbor was kind enough to pay for the work to cut back roots so our irrigation system could work. However, the technician flooded our back yard as he tried to cut back the roots making a mud pile. Then both we and our neighbor were charged for the mess. The sprinklers were flooding our yard. We called Graham back despite these experiences since our neighbors were using them to give them another try and we trusted Shaun would resolve the issues above. A tech was to show come install a new irrigation timer at 10am but arrived an hour late. He toured the property and left to go buy an irrigation timer. He came back over an hour later saying he lost his cell phone and just spent an hour looking for it. He put the timer on the wall and set it which took only a few moments but we were charged for several hours of work. The billings were in disarray for months. They told my husband if he paid the disputed bills then they would credit him back some amounts. After he paid the bills they said they would no longer work with us because we were being difficult! Absolutely unconscionable and unethical given all that we had endured. Then they backed up and hit the gate panel to the neighborhood so the community had to leave the gate open until it was fixed. Note: Shaun was a pleasure to work with, but Angela, Dante, and others at the office were very unprofessional and made it impossible to continue. read more

Graham Landscaping charged me 4K to solve a drainage issue and plant new sod. I emphatically discussed the issue for 45 minutes with Shaun Weisbach, the representative that Graham Landscaping sent out. He said that he "Understood" this issues yet never provided his own input. I walked him around to the neighbors houses to show how the drainage in our area flowed, he seemed disinterested. The next day when I came home, the job was half completed with an entire area of the lawn removed that had nothing to do with what we discussed. They wasted my purchased sod on 1/2 of the backyard that had nothing to do with the problem area. The job was completed at their expense. The next day, it rained and our patio was flooded because they didn't slope the lawn into the drainage side of the house, they never tilled the soil to provide drainage, this was the area that I spent 45 minutes talking to Shaun about. I called Shaun back and he showed up with his "Engineer", they called a crew to "repair" the issue, it was prompt and I'll give them credit for that, what I won't give them credit for is when they asked me to come out and see how they "Leveled the base" in our yard. I said, "as long as water drains out of our yard, it's fine, maybe make sure it does in this area, I came back out to make sure, and Shaun tells the guy next to him (as I'm walking away) see, I told you he'd be like that. However, The drainage issue was not resolved and Less then two years later the lawn was dead. We hired a new contractor that immediately recognized the problem and solved it, $8,000.00 later. Our lawn and backyard is now as it should have been. No thanks to Graham Landscaping. read more

I will be contacting the Oregon Health Authority to inform them of Graham Landscape and Design's predatory business practices. They shouldn't be on the approved list. I am new to Eugene and called to schedule a backflow test. They charged $115 to my credit card which they later described as a "scheduling fee", which is ridiculous as I never would have agreed to pay a fee just to be scheduled (that in itself seems unethical). I was told a $60 fee (beyond the $55 backflow test) was for an irrigation assessment. I understood there might be more costs depending on what the assessment revealed, so I asked their service man when he was here what additional costs there might be and he told me he didn't think there would be any beyond what I already paid. I guess he was mistaken, but no one ever gave me any idea what the costs for particular services were. He just performed the work as if it were already agreed upon, then tried to upsell me things I didn't need, before overcharging me with a murky bill that didn't include my previous payment. Their invoice is not transparent and does not break down individual charges. They tried to double-charge me the $115, for a total of $445. After my complaint, they reduced the bill by $115 to include my previous payment, but I will also be notifying the Eugene Chamber of Commerce and the Better Business Bureau. I'm not angry. I'm just sad and feel it is my civic duty to warn my neighbors Graham Landscaping's predatory business model takes advantage of anyone not in the know or paying attention, old folks like me and the inexperienced. read more

I hired Graham Landscape and Design to dethatch and reseed my front and back lawn. I told them the type of grass I currently had. They left a mess in my beds. My germination was spotty. I ended up with multiple varieties of grass and both lawns were full of weeds. I had never had a weed problem before. I contacted Laura Jenson. A crew came back one time and pulled some weeds and added more seed. I contacted her again regarding lack of germination and the extensive amount of weeds. This time they spot sprayed some of the weeds so I had big brown spots scattered all over. They added a little more seed. I wrote the owner to let him know my about my dissatisfaction. I have not heard back. I am very disappointed. I cannot recommend Graham Landscape and Design. read more

Thomas came over to look at our yard which had a standing water issue. We hired Graham to grade our yard and put in French drain. They came out with a bulldozer and somewhat flattened yard but did not use any measuring and put in drain. It rained and water right next to drain was standing. I texted Thomas and called. He acknowledged yard not sloped properly. He also was supposed to put pre-emergent in back yard and give quote on tree removal in front. We had discussed multiple phases. It's strange how this company simply does not follow-up. I had every intention on continuing with them and having more work done. It seems as if they have so much work they don't care. Laura Jenson coordinated the project through the whole process. The crew of Justin, Patrick, and Adam not only completed all the multiple steps of aerating, thatching, moss removal, application of lawn soil, seed planting and application of straw over the seed, but as requested, also set up plastic fencing all around the whole perimeter of the new planting to protect the seeding from our 5 week old puppy for the 4-6 week germination period! Giving - 2 star instead of 1 because I had called multiple companies and they were the ones with the earliest opening. I had called because our sprinkler control box had been unplugged at the box and there were multiple wires and I just didn't know which wire went where .... So I knew it would be a fast simple fix (which it was, it took 5 min) and figured since he would already be there I asked if he could go through all the sprinkler zones and make sure they were all in working order/ covering all of our grass. It took him maybe 20 min to do so and then he left. I noticed the next morning when they turned on that there was some zones with 3 sprinkler heads and some with 1 or 2. Well now that it's been a month or so I've noticed lots of our grass is dying and have since found a lot of our sprinkler heads are not coming up. So he obviously did not actually make sure all of our grass was being covered and that each sprinkler head was in working order. I do not want to pay the minimum again for him to come out when he was already here. Disappointing. read more

We had Graham completely do our front yard a few years ago. Very disappointed. The sprinkler system has not worked correctly. They sent out someone to look at it a few times, the last time I asked about 3 of the sprinkler heads sticking up 3 inches above the ground even when the sprinkler system is off (which by the way we have to manually turn off and on) and was told to just cover with bark o mulch. Are you kidding. Also they could not get to our yard until September and I felt we got the end of the year shrubbery, plus the maple tree never did come through. They stated they would get back to me in a week with their design and quote. Two weeks later I heard nothing. I called office and asked for someone to get back with me. We are very disappointed in Graham Landscape and Design. Buyer beware. We hired this company because they had set up the sprinkler system in our BACK yard long before we bought our house. The Graham guy kept coming around twice a year, without charge, to turn the sprinklers on and off. Wow! Very impressive. So a few years later, in 2019, after our FRONT yard got torn up by a sewer-pipe installation, we hired Graham (and paid $4055.25) for a drip irrigation system, as well as lots of mulch, shrubs, and perennials to be planted. We asked specifically to have some of the new plants obscure our exterior on-the-ground air-conditioning unit and an unsightly basement window. Sounds straightforward, right? The Graham people DID put in lots of mulch and some lovely plants. But none of the lovely plants even came close to obscuring the air-conditioning unit or the window. We also found out, TO OUR DISMAY, that the "drip irrigation" they installed was limited to watering only the plants that Graham had put in! THIS MEANT WE COULDN'T ADD NEW PLANTS OURSELVES, as we wanted to do, since Graham had failed to obscure the air-conditioning unit and window. We had asked the Graham guy why he had put in this very limited irrigation system. Answer: "Because it saves so much water." Why didn't you ASK us what type we wanted? "Oh, don't worry. It's easy to add more tubing yourself. You just remove the dirt from on top, cut the tubing, add some other tubing, and weld it together [plastic welding]." EEK! We did not want a DIY project! We paid over $4,000K for this unsatisfactory job. Graham would not make good on this, but instead proposed to charge us $1760.50 to add more plants and to extend the irrigation system so that they could be watered. Fast forward to 2021. We contacted Graham again in early April. We were hopeful because the very polite office manager said he would send a particular person out to have a look if we e-mailed some possible dates. We did. Got no response. We called again April 28th and left a message asking for a return call. It's been over a week and we still haven't heard back. If you hire Graham Landscape and Design, don't expect them to stand by their work. read more

Son initially hired company for front (very small) and back yard (large) lawn maintenance. Received an estimate which was extremely costly. Since he was a 100% disabled veteran on fixed income and unable to pay their monthly maintenance fee, asked for a piece meal maintenance fee schedule based on what he wanted done each visit. Their crew came out twice in the month and was shocked when the bill was over $800. Immediately called and complained and canceled service. Also requested front yard design for no lawn, low maintenance with added hard scape for add'l drive way parking...cost was over $10,000. Prices are too high. read more

In October 2017 Graham Landscape in Eugene, OR did an "Irrigation system optimization/water conservation project" on my outdoor watering system. This included all new low flow sprinkler heads, drip lines etc. They told us they stand behind their work and offer 1 year warranty on parts and labor for the optimization project. After the install everything worked well. The last week of June 2018 the system timer would disregard the program on one station making it come on randomly. On June 27, 2018 after returning home from an overnight trip, our neighbors told us the system on that station had been running continuously for 24 hours. I immediately called Graham Landscape. After an initial misunderstanding, Graham's responded quickly, professionally and courteously. Mark, the very competent technician that was sent told us about a year maintenance plan that we will definitely purchase. Mark got us repaired and our system working beautifully. Mr. Graham, Dean and Mark came through in the best possible way. Our sincere thanks to Graham's, they saved my landscaping and completely saved a customer. read more

Dean, Mark, and all the rest of the Graham crew completed a large and complicated irrigation installation for us this past summer that involved a new well pump, new plumbing, and 8 automated irrigation zones. My wife and I hired Graham Landscape and Design to install a new paver patio off our existing back porch. They did an excellent job, and we couldn't be happier with the results. When I first contacted Graham Landscape and Design, it was Jordan who responded to my inquiry. He gave me a ballpark quote over the phone, then came out the very next day to review the site and provide a more accurate quote. Turned out, he pretty much had nailed the quote on the phone. While he was out, he took measurements, and talked to me about different options they could provide. By the start of the next business day, Jordan had emailed me the official quote. In the time leading up to the start of the work, and while work was ongoing, I exchanged several emails back and forth with Jordan. Jordan was always very responsive, and was great in helping us choose colors and patterns. We're not very creative with this type of stuff, so it was great to be able to rely on his expertise. The patio was finished faster than quoted, and the results are outstanding. In addition, the guys doing the work (Seth, and a couple other gentlemen who's names escape me) were very nice and accommodating. In fact, on the last day of the job, Seth spent about 30 minutes talking to my wife and I about other areas of our landscaping, and providing us with different ideas and options (with no pressure to use them). Some of the ideas he gave us were even DIY. I was so happy with the work this company had done, that we decided to have them re-gravel our driveway while they were onsite. Jordan was really accommodating here as well, and had the equipment and guys onsite a day later to spread 37 yards of gravel over a 150ft driveway in just about 2 hours. The day arrived, a Friday, received call couldn't make it promised Monday. Received call the parts were not available. Called and spoke to office manager on two occasions she never called back. Just unbelievable how poor the customer service is. Going with Landmark as they came same day and told me that they would make a temporary fix the next day.
