I can only give a rave review of Graham Landscape and Design, since, when I first contacted them, my original intent was to "update" our existing 20-year old landscaping on our little over half-acre property. I thought I knew exactly what I wanted but stayed open to Graham's and his project manager's (Seth) and another valued landscaper's (Tyler) opinions and ideas.
Now this all started in May of 2012, pruning and cleaning up in preparation for deck construction and house painting projects. I was so impressed with their skills at pruning some very overgrown and difficult plants-- when they were done, everything looked amazing and beautiful. I was so concerned plants would look "pruned," but it was the most professional job ever.
Next project was installation of flagstone pathways over existing gravel pathways and we worked together to modify and even improve that! They managed to correct the landing from the deck stairs, which was not built square to the stairs, by using flagstone, and then proceeded to add very smart, attractive, and functional heavy step stones to transition down towards the pathway around our home.
Next was replacement and beautiful improvement of streambed and pond which had originally been installed in 2000. As each project was completed, we were so awed with the workmanship and beauty and creativity, we were excited to move on to the next project with more confidence.
Next was replacement and improvement of our front lawn, which included stepping stones from our driveway up to the lawn area, stone work to retain that area from the driveway and sidewalk, and beautiful planter beds set off with beautiful rock work. It's gorgeous!
In the midst of all of the above work, I would shop for hundreds of fall bulbs and bring them home, and the guys would just get right on that project and plant them in places I never would have considered. What a surprise when Spring arrived!
Next was the re-design and rebuilding of an old streambed and pond in the front of our home (originally built in 1998). When this was completed, we were so impressed we told them that the last project--the east part of our property was theirs to dream and design and build.
In the meantime, it was time for the vegetable garden to be cleared of weeds, prepped and planted -- they did that in no time and what wonderful fruits we enjoyed from their efforts. Also spring bulbs showed up at Costco and I did the same thing I did the previous fall--brought home bags of bulbs which they promptly planted. Our hearts soared with the flowering of each new summer bulb.
One Monday, they arrived for work, and found 26 large, blue ceramic pots and potting soil, tons of annuals for planting. They promptly got busy planting and placing those pots at strategic places around our property.
The east lawn and raised bed flower garden is absolutely the most beautiful yard ever. You have to see it to experience what they have done. I've had people say, "I bet you never want to go on vacation!" "Oh, my, this is like Butchart Gardens!" "Wow, you have a piece of paradise!" "What a wonderful Koi pond!" And on, and on, and on.
Jordan Graham initially made a suggestion for the work in the east lawn, which I was able to ponder for a whole year before the work was finally done. The project manager, Seth, and landscaper, stone worker, Master Gardener Tyler, conceived, constructed, planted, and put so much love into that area, that I believe it has become almost the highlight of the projects--if that is possible. Because every single part of our landscaping seems to have benefited from their love of their work, their insight, their willingness to listen to the owner's opinions and criticisms and never take anything personal--I don't consider myself easy to work with!
I look forward to continuing to work with Graham Landscaping into the foreseeable future for all of our landscape projects and maintenance. Did I mention that they also stained our 1000 sq ft deck and did a top quality job? They did! read more
