Several years ago I hired Four Seasons because I noticed them come and do weekly service on our neighbors yard. I inquired about the cost of service on a month-to month basis. I was quoted a price that I felt was reasonable and suggested using them to my Husband. He agreed and we hired them. We used them for a few months and everything was relatively fine with the service. We then started remodel construction on our home & property which included ripping out the entire front & back yard. During this time it did not make sense to keep yard service, obviously, because we had no yard. We cancelled our month-to-month yard service and thought that was that. Had I written a review at that point, he probably would have gained a 4 star from me. I actually even recommended him to a few friends since then who had been looking for yard maintenance even.
Fast forward to today (a couple years later), when this same company was doing their regular weekly service on our neighbors yard. I heard them with the leaf blower and then saw a ton of debris flying into my backyard from under the fence. They were blowing all of the neighbors yard debris and leaves, into my yard. I popped my head over the fence and saw the Owner of Four Seasons walking back towards the front of the house. So I went around front and attempted to kindly let him know that he had just blown a bunch of stuff in my yard and when I started to ask if he could clean it up, he cut me off and rudely said "Won't happen again' and turned his back on me. No apology whatsoever, barely an acknowledgement, and no offer to fix it. There were two other workers with him so I looked to them since he was blatantly ignoring me. (Which I had thought was so odd especially considering I had been a previous paying customer).
One of his workers asked what happened. I told him, and he apologized and offered to clean it up. At which point the Owner came over and said something to the affect of "that's what I get for owing him for a year's worth of service". Thoroughly confused by his statement, I asked him what he had meant. He was extremely agitated and stated that when you hire a yard service you are automatically committing to a year's worth of service. He said it was common knowledge. But I have hired other yard maintenance companies in that past and that has never been the case, nor have I even heard of that. He was all huffy and puffy and obviously extremely irritated with me. (Which, I assume now, is why he was blowing all the debris into my yard in the first place) I tried to reason with him and explained that we never had a contract stating a year nor had he ever verbally told me that it was a year-long commitment of service when we hired him.
He and one of his workers came into my backyard and semi cleaned up his mess. He sternly asked me if it was 'good enough' and I told him "I guess so' even though there was still a bit of a mess. Mind you, I am a woman in my early 30's that was home alone by myself at the time and he is much older than I and was being very aggressive towards me.
When he was finished he told me that it wouldn't happen again (in a tone less than friendly) and started walking out. I said "I hope that it doesn't" since I wasn't too convinced that it won't. He responded to that with "Oh don't you threaten me. You are barking up the wrong tree Bitch" as he closed my fence door. I have no idea what he is talking about by being threatened as I most certainly did not. I am however, scared out of my mind to have this man still working on my neighbors yard each week. I am very shook up by what happened and cannot believe that a business owner would treat a previous customer this way, much less treat a woman this way.
If I were you I would NOT hire this man or his company. Especially if you are a woman who will be home alone when he is doing the work. It was unbelievable the way he verbally attacked me. Needless to say he will never be getting another recommendation from me. read more
