The cost of items to be repaired was astronomical and the other items listed that they added on as "recommended" were over inflated as well. I feel this business only cares about profit. Not to mention they took a few clips out on the front hood portion to access the radiator and failed to reinstall them. I took my 2500 duramax in here a few months ago to have new tires and rims placed on it. I asked if they were compatible to which they said yes. I get the tires replaced, they do an alignment and they pull my truck out, nearly an hour and a half longer than they told me it would be. Before I leave, I tell them that my TPMS isn't showing any readings. The guy tells me to drive it a few times and the sensors should restore. So I take his word and leave. Of course the sensors never restore and NOW I have an ABS error and a trailer break error as well as a shaking wheel when going above 50mph. So I call and make another appointment. They tell me that the ABS error and trailer brake error had nothing to do with them, but to bring it in and have it realigned. These errors have NEVER shown up until the moment they pulled it out of their garage for the first time. They look at it again and tell me that they reset the sensors and everything should be working fine, and that they've redone the alignment. Again, I leave the store without tire sensors working with the promise it will work after a few drives. Of course, the sensors never return but the alignment is better. I call once again and make another appointment. This time they tell me that the TPMS needs to be replaced, after I was told that everything was compatible on the first tire change. They tell me it's going to cost me another couple hundred to have the TPMs done. They did end up giving me a discount, so I had them install the TPMS anyway. As well as fixing the alignment for the THIRD time. Again, another 1.5 hours longer than they said. Finally, my TPMS works, my alignment is good, BUT my trailer brake system and ABS are still showing errors. I took it to another shop and it turns out they did break my sensors during install of the new tires and rims. WHICH THEY DENIED HAVING ANY PART OF. AVOID THIS SHOP AT ALL COSTS. They don't respect your time, they charge more than any shop in the area, and they deny when things are caused by them. I went in for a tire and rim replacement and ended up going in 3-4 times to have things redone. Take it to someone else. If you're a woman who drives a truck they'll treat you like you're incompetent. I've been told by other shops that they've stopped recommending this place because of their frequent unnecessary repairs, overcharging, and damaging vehicles. read more

Graham Auto Repair-We took our vehicle in twice and the vehicle is still not running. Not trying for round three and several months for it to sit. We paid $12,000. For what? You never repaired it and still gave me the truck back with check engine light on. When the truck was picked up was told this was the best they could do. Truck ran for one week and is now parked-as it will not start . Can't afford to lose my truck again for several months . Took my truck to you guys because I thought you knew what you were doing. Truck was in the shop for literally four months within the last two trips that it has been in. BEWARE THESE FRAUDSTERS! Had an alignment done and they screwed it up, it now pulls HARD to one direction and is difficult to steer in one direction, making it dangerous. They blamed it on uneven tire wear in the back(in a front wheel drive car) and offered to sell us brand new wheels and tires at which time they would make it drive like normal. So if the directive is to buy new wheels and tires and then theybwould fix it, wouldn't new wheels and tires fix it automatically? No it wouldn't BECAUSE THAT IS NOT THE ISSUE! Buy more stuff from them and then they will fix it right? Not only is that fraud, it's extortion and is a violation of the Federal Rico Act. I'm not a moron, I am a qualified mechanic, I just don't own a 40k rack. Rear uneven tire wear on the BACK of a front wheel drive will cause a drift it will NOT cause a hard pull not cause stiff steering in one direction at parking lot speeds. They also said I was in dire need of an oil change. The oil in the car is 20k mile oil and has less than 2k on it. You've heard the horror stories of unnecessary repairs, and causing things to happen? THESE ARE THE GUYS THAT MAKE IT HAPPEN!. THESE are the kind of mechanics that show up on those special reports and then refuse to talk to the Cameras. Well BBB and FTC have already received complaint. Could not find the problem that we brought the car in for, yet seemed to find $7200 of other things that they would replace or fix for me based on a guess. Some of the things were replace license plate bulb, they wanted $90 to do that. $174 to replace the power steering fluid. $139 to replace an air filter which had been changed 3 weeks prior to bringing it in. The transmission fluid $347. They charge the maximum labor charge of any place in the state. Still, could not tell us what was wrong with it, but charged us $200 to tell us that . My car never had an overheating problem, not ever. Seems odd that when I got it back the head gasket was blown. read more

ZERO STARS!!! I hate leaving bad reviews and I rarely do but I'm furious with this shop, their work and their customer customer. So we brought in our Dodge Ram 1500 2014 (original owners) that we have not had any issues with. We debated on bringing it into the dealership to service the transmission but decided, since we are new to Graham to take it to a local shop. Bad idea!!! What was supposed to be just a basic service appt turned into 1500 dollar service appt bc of additional services they recommended. No biggy, we agreed to the additional services, BUT when we got our truck back, the next day we noticed the GPS disk is gone. The screen now just sits there and thinks and you can't access the map. Additionally, the electric running boards stopped working and literally almost fell on my face getting out of the truck. Trying to go to work the next day the truck would not start and it turns out our battery was fried. Both my husband and I called the shop and spoke with Bryce (who speaks to you like you're an idiot), and he basically said "it's not our fault, it's a coincidence." Zero amount of compassion and zero GAF for customers. We also spoke to the company who we purchased the running boards through, which were professionally installed, and their first question was if we had brought our truck to a shop recently. We said yes, just a couple days ago and they said that if a technician messes with the battery terminal without pulling the running board fuse first, it can cause a power surge and fry the control module. With this info, Bryce, the GM from Graham Auto, admitted that the battery was tested and still refuses to acknowledge that there was any correlation. Battery testing was never mentioned as something they were going to do and it was noted that the battery was in good condition yet it's fried the next day. Coincidence?? The dealership laughed when we told them that and they said it was not a coincidence. JUST DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DON'T TAKE YOUR YOUR CAR HERE!!! Drove my 2002 Chevy Avalanche 8.1L in to confirm my suspicions of lifter noise on cylindar 3. Good compression. They called me the next day to say good news! It was just the timing chain, $2000. I authorized the repair. The next day was told it was the lifter after all, another $600 or so. I authorized the repair. The next Monday I called for an update to be told they now couldn't account for all the lifter parts, they didn't say if their mechanic dropped it into block or that's just how they found it. Regardless, they wouldn't work on this engine any further but would be happy to put a new one in for $11,000. I declined so they discounted the timing chain they never installed and stopped work. As the tow truck driver was pulling away they remembered they still had my intake manifold and bolts and helpfully threw them in the truck bed. TL/DR Drove in and had my engine disassembled (not reassembled of course) for $1000. read more

Best service ever. Brian was so helpful with everything from the start. A car I bought on Carvana came with everything working except the AC. It makes a hissing sound when turned on, so I thought it was a leak. I made an appointment and upon coming in I already knew I was gonna get great service. The lobby is so nice and cozy it sorta feels like a hotel. They even got amenities like coffee :-) I initially came for a diagnosis. I explained to Brian the situation and he offered me a better solution that may/may not work. He wanted to check with the dealer to see if my car was still covered under basic warranty to save me money. Unfortunately it wasn't as it's good for 2 years, not 5 years (2016 Honda Civic) but the thought of him wanting to help me out like that was awesome and definitely makes you happy that you got these people looking out for you. I added in an oil change because it definitely needed to be done too. The pricing is not that bad for what you get. I was told the diagnosis wouldn't take long (bout an hour or two) along with the oil change, so I agreed to leave the car and I left. About 40 minutes later I get a call with great news - the AC just needs a recharge and does not need any repairs (I initially thought it was a leak, thank god it wasn't). Unfortunately the car has a newer part for the AC that they did not have yet so I was told to take it to the Honda dealer to get it charged back up. But the whole time I was there I was dealt with nothing but respect and positivity from all employees. This is now my to-go repair facility for now on. I called to get a quote and instead of giving me a ballpark estimate, he tells me to go on the internet and look up the quote myself but repairpal.com doesn't cover the repair I need hence the reason I called them in the first place. If the vehicle isn't drivable then how am I going to get it there just for an estimate. So I have to just have my vehicle towed from shop to shop to get an estimate. I took my diesel in to have the brakes done after being quoted $350 for the job, they turned over an estimate for over $1500! They were charging several hours of labor on a brake job that wasn't complex. Yes, it needed new rotors and calipers, but that's not hard to do when the truck is on a lift, I've done it before. I felt like they were trying to take advantage of me because I brought a diesel to them. They knew the issues with my brakes before I came in and quoted $350 and I'm just amazed that turned into $1500. read more

Graham Auto Repair held onto my car for an entire month, then charged me more than double my quote which ended up being out of pocket because they failed to charge my insurance as agreed. I dropped my car off and got an update two weeks later that it was just sitting because one of the mechanics had stripped the bolts and they were "waiting" for parts.   After a month of waiting, I finally got the call to pick up my car. My $2800 quote turned into almost $6000 as I was charged for all of the extra time, labor and supposed necessary parts to fix the problem.  Here's the kicker. My car wasn't fixed at all. The first time I drove my car after leaving Graham Auto Repair, it started having the EXACT SAME PROBLEM that it was having when I dropped it off.  Had it been test driven after the "repair" maybe someone would have noticed that my car was not fixed. I can see from my very accurate tracking device, that my car sat for weeks and was never actually test driven. I was understandably upset, and returned to the shop telling the staff that the problem had not been fixed. The mechanic denied that he didn't test drive it of course and I was told that my car would be fixed at no extra expense. An entire week goes by, and I finally hear from them that they had found what the actual problem was and wanted to charge me even more!  I spent nearly 6k, missed days of work, and had to go over a month without my vehicle THAT IS STILL BROKEN.  Service, communication, and integrity at this shop is a true disappointment to say the least. I will be steering anyone I know away from Graham Auto Repair and reporting their poor business practices to the BBB. read more

Took my 1995 Lexus SC300 in for a brake repair. It had a soft pedal issue that I've been trying to resolve. Before taking it in I had replaced all the brake fluid and installed a new bench-bled master cylinder and bled the crap out of the brakes. Guess what they did? Replaced all the brake fluid and did some high end brake bleeding. Total cost: $309.00. And it's just like it was before taking it in. They were all concerned on whether I bench-bled the master cylinder, which I did and told them. They are convinced it has air in it. So, instead of taking the dang thing off and bench bleeding it if they didn't believe me, they found one for almost $400 and want me to have them change out my brand new one. Said air can get in there and you can never get it out. Uuhhh no, that's a crock and they should take a time out for lying to a customer. You can absolutely bleed a master cylinder after it's been installed. Probably about a 1 hour job max. So I paid my dues and told them I learned where not to go. Probably the most irritating thing was that not one time did they call me. Just kept the car and waited for me to contact them. Had I let them, the bill would be over $1000.00 now and I still wouldn't have fixed it. The service secretary asked me what would it take to make it right? Now why would he say that? Enough said. Don't go there for anything that isn't basic maintenance. Oh and be prepared to pay for "shop supplies" it was only 20 bucks but you can see they are out to make every dollar they can. read more

I took my 1992 Lexus SC400 to Graham Auto Repair April, 2021 due to air conditioner not cooling. Total bill (including other things done) was $2061.65 The total for air conditioning work was $1046.58, plus tax. I took the car back on June 2021. I was told the A/C compressor was bad (so what I spent before was wasted money). They replaced that, and charged me for evacuating and re-charging system, etc. Total bill was $2240.82 When I went to pick up the car, as I turned it on refrigerant sprayed out in huge volumes from under the hood. When I showed this to Rob (service advisor I worked with on multiple occasions), it was obvious some connections were not tightened properly. I had to leave the car again. When I picked it up later, the A/C seemed barely cool. Definitely not cold. When I mentioned this, I was told their mechanics checked the temperature and it was "performing as expected", though my wife and I could tell it was barely cool. Not at all like it had been for the last 15 years. (I had converted the car that long ago, from R12 to the newer R134a. It had performed exceptionally well - it would freeze you, in just a few minutes, for many years. Until I took it in to Graham Auto Repair because it had stopped working. I agreed to drive it a while, and re-check later if a problem. I use the car only occasionally. I do not put many miles on it. I also took the car into Bates Technical College Auto Body and Refinishing January 2022, for a total exterior paint job. I had to leave it several months for that to be completed (finished May 2022), so the car was not being driven. When I got it back, the A/C blew only like a fan. No coolness, at all - even on max cooling. I took the car back to Graham Auto Repair. I was told that they couldn't find anything wrong with the system. No leaks detected. I was told it was fully re-charged with refrigerant (though they did not tell me why it would need additional refrigerant, if there was no leak), and to bring it back if any problem. I said I would NOT be back, I had wasted enough time and money on their incompetence and inability to actually fix the problem. I was told that one of the repairmen thought it might be some part inside the car (that I've never heard of), and they might need to replace that. I said I would not replace every piece of the car because they were not competent enough to accurately diagnose and fix the problem. I also said I was well aware that an A/C system does not have an unlimited number of components. I said I would take it elsewhere else, if needed. As I drove the car off, my wife and I noticed, yet again, that the car blew only mildly cool air. And that was after it had just been filled with refrigerant. One week later, the car blew only warm air. No cooling whatsoever. I took the car to Austin's Pro/Max on Canyon Road July 14, 2022. I left the car. The shop manager (Melinda) called the next day and said there were multiple leaks detected (with dye - same as Graham Auto said showed no leaks). I told her Graham Auto said they could see no leaks in the system. She said "Either they are blind, or they are lying." Pro/Max replaced multiple O-rings that had been overly compressed, and caused them to leak. Melinda showed those to me. They also found a defective Schrader valve (that had supposedly been replaced/checked by Graham Auto. My total bill from Pro/Max came to $594.41 The car is now blowing out very cold air. No problems. I expect Graham Auto to pay me for having to find a competent shop to repair what they, on at least 4 occasions, failed to repair. I will assume they actually replaced/repaired other items they charged me for, though I have no proof of that. I called Graham Auto Repair, and was told to talk with the "service manager", Bryce (though he is listed on their web site as "general manager"). I talked with him. He gave some of the most ignorant responses I've ever had from a service facility. He said "It was working fine when you drove it off." I said yes (even thought it was blowing only cool, not cold air), because they just charged the system with refrigerant. Of course it would work, for that moment. But that does not mean the problem was fixed, or that it would continue to cool. I said he should know that. If not, he has no business being in the position he is in. Bryce said I would need to talk with the owner (Troy). When I tried to contact Troy, I was always told "Troy is not here, not available, on vacation, etc." I left messages with multiple personnel, at 2 locations (Graham and Yelm). I also left a message on Troy's voicemail to call me. I have never been contacted by him. I expect to be paid back for the cost incurred at Austin Pro/Max, to actually fix the problems Graham Auto was supposed to fix and had already charged me for. I will be filing a claim in Pierce County Small Claims court, for the $594.41 charge from Pro/Max, that I never should have incurred. read more

This is a customer service complaint. If you don't treat customers or prospective customers appropriately , the bottom line is you lose business. I went to Graham Auto Repair on behalf of my disabled mother who wanted an estimate for her car to have the water pump changed at this specific location. I pulled up to a very nice building and facility, it's clean and well maintained. When I walked in I was greeted very nicely by the lady at the front desk, who was on the phone but would get to me shortly. Two men were in the back offices who I assume were owners or management. I was approached by one who asked if he could help me. I let him know I was there on behalf of my disabled mother, who simply needed an estimate so she can have her water pump changed at this location. Instantly he was dismissive and crass and let me know that they're so busy that they're are only dealing with "paying at the moment." ( PAYING CUSTOMERS AT THE MOMENT, did I really hear that m? A quick point if advice, a comment like that is how you instantly lose a paying customer. ) Before he approached me he was in the back office with another fellow laughing and playing around, and the phones weren't ringing off the hook, there were no customers in the building and the parking lot was absolutely empty. I let him know I'm in no hurry I can sit around and wait and he can get to it at his convenience and I'll be very patient. He wanted no part of me waiting for an estimate in which I would have this work done and paid for this week I even brought my mother's vehicle to the location to be looked at if necessary. He said to write down my information and he would email me, if not tonight within 3 days. I did not receive the email within 24 hours, 3 days is not acceptable under any circumstance for somebody who wants to have work done on their car likely in the next 24 hours and to be as rude and crass as he was is just unacceptable from a customer service perspective. My suggestion is he should stay in the back office and let the very kind woman in the front deal with customers because he just lost a paying customer and no one in my family will be doing business here. How you treat people and customer service is everything, those who don't understand that in a customer service oriented business shouldn't be in business. read more

Extremely Satisfied I'll start from the top... First impressions are everything, i walked in and shop is very nice looking inside and outside. You can tell the GM takes pride in cleanliness and attention to detail. Beverage cooler stocked full, coffee stocked, counters all wiped down, no dust in waiting area and floors were clean. I'm my mind if your waiting area is clean and organized, your back shop most likely is as well. This gives me the impression the the same attention to detail will show on their workmanship. Customer service - top notch customer service. I called in to set an appointment and it felt as the lady (can't remeber her name) that took my call genuinely cared about her customers. Again, this level of customer service shows that the GM is not only picky about who he hires to represent his shop but is genuinely concerned about customer service. I took my car in 2013 Cadillac, and Rob was all ready for me. He knew who I was and what I was there for before introducing myself. The car went straight back and they got to work on it (alignment originally). While I was there Rob made sure he qualified me up front and explained the possibilities of what could be discovered while performing an alignment. He also mentioned my car may be due for a DEALER recommended service. As a knowledgeable consumer I looked this up myself and realized that I was in fact due for a transmission service. I elected to have that completed at the same time which they fit in at the same time. Problem solving skills Rarely when performing a tranny service some vehicles with adaptive learning need to be "relearned". There was no way for anyone to know this would he been required. This wasn't noticed until the next day when my wife was driving her car the next morning. I message the shop through Google with my concerns and I got a reply first thing at 8am with a phone number and the name of the person to ask for (Rick). They asked me to bring the car in right away. I did and this is when we discovered that in this particular case the tranny needed to go through the relearning sequence to re calibrate the transmission. Rob immediately jumped to action and for our piece of mind provided a loaner vehicle to allow my car to cool down so they can test drive it one more time to make sure the relearning solved the problem. All in all the car is back to normal, my wife nor I missed any work! As a GM myself I can spot true customer service and quality of workmanship from a mile away. Yes they seem to bit a little more expensive (could have saved $20 or so going to a hole in the wall shop or quick line place) but I will pay I higher price for outstanding customer service and the peace of mind knowing my vehicles will be taken care of! Highly recommend! This was my first visit and they have earned a customer for life for all of my vehicle maintenance needs! read more

I have always been greeted quickly even if they are on phone calls or with other customers they still acknowledge I am there and they will be with me quickly. The service on our vehicles has always been excellent! They listen and I believe they honestly care about their service and customers. Worst experience with a repair shop. First I took my vehicle in for overheating got it diagnosed, the diagnosis was the temp gage. Drove fine for a couple weeks. Then it overheated again this time leaving me stranded outside of Eastgate. I called my insurance had it towed back to the same shop biggest mistake. Had it re-diagnosed at my expense again!. This time it was the water pump. How incompetent do you have to be not to fix the issue the first time around. I will definitely not be recommending this shop to anyone else. If it wasn't for my wife throwing a fit on the additional charge with Rick, we would have to swallow another 90+tax for the diagnosis from the second time around. Again, I DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS SHOP TO ANYONE. UNLESS YOU WANT TO KEEP COMING BACK BECAUSE THEY DIDNT FIX THE ISSUE THE FIRST TIME. read more

I've called twice over the last 8 months for a couple different auto needs, water pump then a new battery since they are closer to my Graham home. Each time I was given 4-6 business days wait before I could get an appointment. I went to Meineke in Puyallup and got my Jeep in and out the next day for fraction of the quoted price and outstanding customer service. We took our truck to Graham Auto Repair to have fuel injectors replaced, about $7000 worth of work. When the work was completed, we drove it home where it started cutting out and spewing smoke. We took it back to the garage where the mechanic took it for a drive and our truck stalled twice. The mechanic said there was nothing wrong but a little carbon buildup. He said we needed to take it on a 500 mile road trip and blow out the carbon. We took the truck to Sequim on Labor Day where the truck stalled on the side of the freeway and we waited for 3.5 hours for a tow truck. Our truck was towed back to Graham Auto Repair, where the mechanic found that two of the new fuel injectors were faulty. New injectors were ordered and replaced and our truck was parked in their parking lot. We received a call from Graham Auto telling us that our truck had been stolen off their lot. They told us that it wasn't their responsibility nor were they liable. We asked if they would view the video on from the camera in the parking lot, and they said,"Do you know how many hours that would take?" Graham Auto never reached out to us with concern or empathy- or a video. Ironically, we did just receive a text for them stating that our truck was due for some maintainance and we should schedule an appointment. read more

I chose GAR originally because I work at the school behind it and it made it easy to drop the car and walk to work. I have returned to GAR because of their outstanding service. They will always work hard to get my car done in time for the end of my work day. They are always extremely polite and leave me a goody bag in my car. They don't come up with random things to fix. Case in point: I just had my truck in for brakes. They said the rotors needed to be replaced, but the pads were fine and didn't try to sell me new pads. Great place! read more
