Our appointments were back to back; The women working at the front desk were both personable and helpful. We waited maybe five minutes each to be seen...not long at all. I was impressed especially by the technology in his office because my previous eye doctor did not have anything like this. I felt like I was at an arcade, with all of the different machines meant to measure my vision. It seemed like a very thorough exam that didn't just rely on what I said but actual computer technology. I don't know about you, but whenever I'm getting my eyes checked, I almost feel like it's a test and I might be answering it wrong. I felt like the various machines prevented me from second-guessing myself. Dr. Alpert himself was very friendly, personable, and asked multiple times if I had any questions about anything we were discussing. For many years, I had gone to a different eyecare center and would get a prescription and then buy my glasses online. Based on his very thorough exam, and recommendations from the doctor, we went with eyeglasses that did cost a significant amount more than I'm used to paying. However, I do believe that we will get what we pay for when they come in, which is expected to be in the next two weeks The young man who helped us pick out frames was very patient as I couldn't make up my mind. I appreciated that he pointed out some frames that were on sale for us since I was buying two pair and we do not have insurance for them. I made the mistake of selecting this place based on the reviews found on Google, so for those who…read moredon't know--those reviews are not reliable because positive ratings there can be bought from bot farms in China and elsewhere. First off, the doctor's services are professional, but customer service was substandard. When I first arrived, the woman at the front desk mentioned that there "might" be a fee for my contact lens fitting. I didn't think much of it at the time. I should've asked how much, because it turned out to be much more than expected. Ok, fine. But what bothered me was that I didn't find out until it was time to settle the bill. It felt like an ambush. The other humourless woman that helped me select my lenses seemed annoyed at my insurance coverage questions, and I couldn't get a straight answer about the total out-of-pocket expense, including the fee that was dumped on me. Everything was an evasive reply, or a "gotcha" answer. The visit ended costing way more than I had planned. The thing about cash grabs, is that they only work once. So forget about repeat customers. Lesson learned.
