I mention 'creative' because to ensure my blackout draperies blocked out all light, the team had to think outside of the box to make it work. What initially seemed like a straightforward task took on a life of its own, but the team worked through the issues and came up with a solution that I'm pleased with. If you don't measure it, you can't manage it. I wanted blackout draperies because I wanted to improve my sleep. I track my sleep quality via an Eight Sleep mattress and an Oura Ring. We worked with Grace Shades in November-December 2024 and cannot recommend their business highly enough! I was helping my mom get her rental home updated with new blinds in order to get it listed. We reached our to several business both through Yelp and directly. Grace responded so quickly and accommodated my working schedule to setup a time when both my mom and I could meet them at the property to review samples and they could measure to give an estimate. They were so communicative about every step and arrived right on time. They were super friendly and professional and brought SO MANY samples and options to look at! While my mom and I chatted with Jeanie, Mike walked around and carefully measured each window. Working with Jeanie felt more like being in a high end fashion boutique than picking out shades, we talked about the materials, transparency, how different light would look through them, and she was so consultative to help us make the right choice! Once we picked the shades we wanted for each room, they said they'd provide an estimate within a few days. That arrived very quickly, and the price was even lower than some others with lesser quality materials and service. The warranty for both the product and service was also so much better than the other places. Incredible value! They order directly from the manufacturer with whom they work and shades arrived in only about four weeks. The installation was absolutely perfect, quick, and so efficient and tidy! Their roller shades are gorgeous with many designs to choose from, and we found the perfect color to match our walls. We were serviced by the Grace Shades team for a very specific top-bottom and bottom-top design. It was very hard to find other services who had this product design. When we did find a servicer, we were quoted over $3k and a wait time of 6 to 8 weeks. Upon reaching out to Grade Shades, they were showing us samples within two days. They had a variety of materials to choose from with the exact design functionality we had in mind. They were transparent about the pricing and did not try to up-sell us on anything we did not need. Our blinds were ordered and installed within 2 weeks. The whole process from consultation to installing took less than 3 weeks. The cherry on top? It only cost us a bit shy of $1000 with installation and removal of our own blinds. Remember, other companies quoted over $3000. We were referred Michael Kim after moving into a new home for some window treatments. I immediately noticed his entrepreneur spirit and it clearly showed in all of our interactions. Unlike dealing with typical big box stores, Michael came over after hours for an initial consultation the very next day and left behind samples for us to be able to see how the blinds look under the different lightings throughout the day. We ultimately went with the smart curtain option, which had tons and tons of color selection. This was good and bad for us as we were trying to come up with the color combinations that we would like. Michael and his team came over to do the installation the week following our initial consultation.... note that this would take at least 2 months from a typical big box store. We just couldn't endure being an exposed animal in a zoo for any longer, so this was a no brainer! At first, I was impressed with Michael's service and friendliness, but my mind was blown when the actual product got installed! The window treatment that he recommended transformed the looks of our house! We opted for a neutral two color combination that was customer made for ceiling attachment. This made our house look HUGE! At night, we get complete privacy while indoor lighting illuminates the beautiful curtain, and natural light piercing through the curtain during the day gave us the warm cozy feeling. Not only does the product look amazing, but it is also dust resistant and the curtain and be individually detached for washing! Overall, we highly recommend the product to anyone that is looking for a high quality material, that looks great, delivers fast, and has better value than the traditional curtain solution. They have a lot of innovative stylish blinds that you don't see in big box retailers like HomeDepot. The price is lower because they directly ship from Korea. Despite the international shipping, they can install within 3 weeks. HomeDepot quoted us 2 months. They also dispose the old blinds for free. Mike has great customer service and has the customer is always right attitude that's rare in today's Bay Area market. He came back a couple times to adjust & replace the blinds to our satisfaction. That's after we paid him. He said his goal is not to make money right now but to garner good reviews because they are relatively new. If there is one area for improvement, I would say the blinds could have been thicker so it would completely black out the lights. read more

When we moved into our new home a month ago, we knew one of the first things we wanted to have completed was roller shades/blinds installed. We contacted many companies in the area for quotes. Grace shades was one of the first companies to respond to our quote requests. They were also able to quote us the most competitive price and installation turnaround time. They were about $200-1200 cheaper and about 2 weeks faster than most Bay Area companies. I believe Home Depot was similar pricing but estimated 3-4 months waiting period. I'm sure Home Depot's products don't compare to Grace Shades. We did have one minor hiccup that was out of Grace Shade's control. Unfortunately, the shipping company in Korea that the shade company uses went on strike. This delayed us 1.5 weeks. Our product were just installed by Mike and another team member. So far they look amazing! Very excited for the black out capability for our bedroom roller blinds/shades. Also, we very grateful Mike made our living and dining room shades motorized...it adds such a special touch for those rooms! Overall, we would recommend this company!
