I used Windows & Beyond to repair and modify my Hunter Douglas luminette's. It started with Amber, who answered the call, and took over from there. She was a pleasure to work with. Very professional and personable. She set up an appointment for the Service Manager Michael, to make a house call, and repair the hardware. I needed her again recently, to modify the rod, and extend it from the wall. Again she asked for pictures of the issue, scheduled a visit from Michael, and the problem was solved. Michael knows exactly what he needs to do, and gets it done. I enjoyed his "no nonsense - in and out" approach. Windows & Beyond earned our 5-star rating for its customer service and responsiveness. In 2018, we purchased a Hunter Douglas UltraGlide duette blind for the living room and a few of its LiteRise blinds for other rooms. In the case of the LiteRise blinds, the bottom rail would either be a bit lazy in holding its position when raised or the bottom rail of a duette LiteRise no longer operated correctly. The living room's UltraGlide blind managed to work its way loose off one of its frame clips and its bottom rail was operating sluggishly. In late March, I contacted Hunter Douglas directly and it referred us to a local authorized service - Windows & Beyond in Fremont. After speaking with Amber, service calls were timely scheduled with short lead times. Service technician Michael arrived on time and completed the repairs without difficulty. I have to commend Michael specifically for his attention to detail for he removed his shoes before entering our house and used moving blankets to cover his work area. Over three service calls, the repairs returned each of the blinds to "like-new" condition with improved replacement parts. Never in my wildest dreams did I think that I would get so excited about window coverings than I did when I got my window coverings installed by Windows and Beyond. My life went from a single bachelorette to mother of three and homeowner. My better days are now spent improving the house and spending time with my family. I can't say enough about the superior customer service and depth of knowledge that Doreen Yun has. She really knows her stuff. I went to her huge showroom in Fremont and was impressed by the different areas, the different staging for different rooms. Doreen explained what textures, shades, blinds, drapes, etc. look good for the look I wanted to go for. She also came over to my house, took measurements of my windows and gave me design tips on what window coverings looked good and how I should place my furniture. I took her suggestions and people have commented on the improvements. Also, when the window coverings came in, Doreen was out of town at a convention of some sort. She had her assistant arrange to have someone install the window coverings. Everything was done professionally and quickly. If you are like me and like a good bargain (I shop at Target and Costco regularly), you will thank yourself for going to Windows and Beyond. You get excellent service and a selection that no one else can beat plus the knowledge of someone who's been in the business for at least two decades! I worked with Cynthia Ney for the curtains. She provided me very few options and the price was very high. It took five months to have it completed. When the installer came, he did not know there should have tie backs as Cynthia did not even order them. The height of the curtain was not what I had communicated with Cynthia. All these information should have been communicated between the installer and Cynthia. I noticed the height mistakes and notified the installer immediately, he was very mad because he needed to redo these brackets. That room was very hot, I mentioned this to her and asked for blackout lining. Now the room is still very hot with these curtains. I realized the lining should be blackout plus thermal. There is such lining which will greatly cool down the temperature. But she did not even suggest anything like this to me. I don't think Cynthia provided me the professional suggestions to cover my problem. Every professional should know that thermal lining would relieve the temperature problem but she did not. Now I have a VERY expensive curtain hanging there still with very unpleasant temperature to suffer. I am not sure about other designers in that company so I can not comment about them. But in case Cynthia Ney answers your email, run.. or request to work with another agent. read more

I visited the showroom twice, once on my own then again with my husband. I spoke to Jorge both times. Jorge seemed very knowledgable and helpful in presenting what different types of window coverings might work for our home. The second time, we brought our measurements and asked for a quote by email and haven't heard back since. We tried following up by phone twice, spoke to an actual person the first time leaving a message for Jorge. The second time I left a msg on the machine. No call back. No email. No quote. No next step to making a purchase. At this price point, I would expect at least a response for potential buyers. I'm still interested in HD. But even if I went back in person and placed an order in person, I'd be concerned of the responsiveness/customer service during the ordering and installation phases. read more

These guys are awesome. I was having issues with another supplier over my Hunter Douglas shade installation so I called Hunter Douglas directly seeking help. They recommended Windows and Beyond to me as a premier supplier of theirs who they felt exceptionally comfortable with recommending. Needless to say they were spot on. Windows and Beyond immediately sent out an installer to assess the problem who ordered the required replacement items. Withing less than 3 weeks the parts were in and the shade was installed. The best thing is that there was no charge to me since the issue was a manufacturing problem at the plant. The owner of Windows and Beyond told me he would work out the charges with Hunter Douglas and that I need not worry about it. 5 Stars and 2 thumbs up for Windows and Beyond. I work at a major Tech company. They assured us they were more than capable of handling a job we asked them to do. Not only was the job delayed twice, but the installers had no clue on how to program the shades. They blamed the manufacturers for not answering the help line when they called because of a fire at their call desk????. After multiple visits they finally finished the job and then 4 weeks later the blinds are coming apart. I emailed them to come and fix their install since it comes with a warranty and no answer. It's a shame they lack professionalism and work ethic since we could of referred them to other jobs around the area. Instead I'm making sure everyone stays clear of this mess. I cannot stand the of the silhouette blinds that Windows & Beyond installed. I made my decision based on some BAD information given to me by their female employee. I will never return to them, and this is unfortunate because they were very good many years ago. When Doreen, the owner, worked in the Fremont location and serviced you, the service was 5-star. She helped me on two projects that were very pleasing. However, she has since expanded and is always in the other showroom . Instead, I have worked with Jorge and another female employee. Jorge seems overwhelmed with too much work, is slow to respond, and makes you feel like you need to rush your decisions. I ended up working with the female employee who gave me some incorrect information that cost me a $5,000+ problem. Only go to them if Doreen is working with you exclusively. read more

Jorge at Windows and Beyond has been an invaluable help, first in getting them repaired and then most recently personally stepping in to get us a new blind at a tremendous discount. He knew that we tried to have the blind repaired many times and didn't think it was fair for us to pay full price for a new blind. He worked the problem until he arrived at a novel solution.
