Initial contact was made but no follow up for appt. If they did not want the job, should have just told me.

We've worked with Doreen three times now as we have gradually remodelled and redecorated our home and each time she has done a terrific job listening to our needs and preferences and figuring out great solutions. She is knowledgeable, patient and willing to go the extra mile with clients who aren't totally sure what they want, taking the time to explore different options rather than pushing for a quick answer. We did not even need to go to the showroom, she came to us and was willing to work around our busy work schedules (e.g., visiting on a Sunday when we could both be home to meet with her). Her measurements are impeccable so when the blinds are ready for installation (taken care of by Windows & Beyond's professional installer) you can be confident that they will fit each window perfectly. We will definitely use Windows and Beyond again in future. Excellent service all round! read more

I used Windows & Beyond to repair and modify my Hunter Douglas luminette's. It started with Amber, who answered the call, and took over from there. She was a pleasure to work with. Very professional and personable. She set up an appointment for the Service Manager Michael, to make a house call, and repair the hardware. I needed her again recently, to modify the rod, and extend it from the wall. Again she asked for pictures of the issue, scheduled a visit from Michael, and the problem was solved. Michael knows exactly what he needs to do, and gets it done. I enjoyed his "no nonsense - in and out" approach. I would recommend both the company, and the people that took care of my issues, very highly. Outstanding service! read more

My daughter moved into a new condo and her patio sliding door needs a blinds. It is a huge sliding door. I called Windows and Beyond. Amber answered the phone very friendly and referred the owner Doreen to call me shortly. Doreen answered all my questions and explained to me patiently about the motorized Hunter Douglas vertical blinds, she was very sincere, friendly and professional. She gave me a discounted quote for this huge blinds over the phone right away. Due to the high price caliber for Hunter Douglas motorized vertical blinds, my budget may not be enough. I have not decided to go for it yet. But I really appreciate their friendly and professional attitude. read more

Windows & Beyond earned our 5-star rating for its customer service and responsiveness. In 2018, we purchased a Hunter Douglas UltraGlide duette blind for the living room and a few of its LiteRise blinds for other rooms. In the case of the LiteRise blinds, the bottom rail would either be a bit lazy in holding its position when raised or the bottom rail of a duette LiteRise no longer operated correctly. The living room's UltraGlide blind managed to work its way loose off one of its frame clips and its bottom rail was operating sluggishly. In late March, I contacted Hunter Douglas directly and it referred us to a local authorized service - Windows & Beyond in Fremont. After speaking with Amber, service calls were timely scheduled with short lead times. Service technician Michael arrived on time and completed the repairs without difficulty. I have to commend Michael specifically for his attention to detail for he removed his shoes before entering our house and used moving blankets to cover his work area. Over three service calls, the repairs returned each of the blinds to "like-new" condition with improved replacement parts. In each interaction with Amber and Michael, we were very pleased with our experience and highly recommend Window & Beyond. read more

I had an amazing end-to-end experience with Windows & Beyond. From the customer service calls with Amber to the scheduled repair visit by Michael, everything was professional and seamless. We have 10+ year old Hunter Douglas shutters that Michael was very knowledgeable and experienced with. He was very efficient and effective with the repairs (we had broken links from the tilt bar) and his communication was very genuine and helpful. We are so grateful for our fixed shutters! Thanks again Amber and Michael! read more

We worked with Doreen to do all of the window coverings in our new home, and she did a fantastic job! She came over to our house with many design options to peruse, and she gave great advice. On the day of the installation, Miguel and his team assembled and installed all 26 window coverings (shutters and shades) in only three hours. It was quite impressive how efficiently they all worked. We had a problem with our PowerView remote (Hunter Douglas issue, not Windows & Beyond), and Doreen sent a replacement immediately. Both Doreen and Michael have been very responsive to any questions we have had throughout this whole process! read more

Never in my wildest dreams did I think that I would get so excited about window coverings than I did when I got my window coverings installed by Windows and Beyond. My life went from a single bachelorette to mother of three and homeowner. My better days are now spent improving the house and spending time with my family. Needless to say, my life is sorta boring now and I am now the COOL one on the block with fancy window coverings that were actually affordable. I can't say enough about the superior customer service and depth of knowledge that Doreen Yun has. She really knows her stuff. I went to her huge showroom in Fremont and was impressed by the different areas, the different staging for different rooms. Doreen explained what textures, shades, blinds, drapes, etc. look good for the look I wanted to go for. She also came over to my house, took measurements of my windows and gave me design tips on what window coverings looked good and how I should place my furniture. I took her suggestions and people have commented on the improvements. Also, when the window coverings came in, Doreen was out of town at a convention of some sort. She had her assistant arrange to have someone install the window coverings. Everything was done professionally and quickly. If you are like me and like a good bargain (I shop at Target and Costco regularly), you will thank yourself for going to Windows and Beyond. You get excellent service and a selection that no one else can beat plus the knowledge of someone who's been in the business for at least two decades! I rarely write reviews on Yelp, but my experience with Windows and Beyond went beyond my expectation and I wanted to share it with everyone. Thanks for reading and hope this was helpful. read more

My real estate agent introduced me to Doreen at Windows And Beyond when I needed help decorating our home. Coincidentally, I visited an open house staged by Doreen and was impressed with her taste. Fast forward to today, Doreen has helped with all my window covering needs. Additionally, she helped me design our fireplaces, kitchen remodel, wall colors, flooring and furniture. At times, she would recommend against more expensive product as a more cost effective option was better suited for my space. I have come to trust her expert advice in color selection and design taste. My next project is to upgrade our growing child's room and I will definitely enlist Doreen's design help once again. read more

I worked with Cynthia Ney for the curtains. She provided me very few options and the price was very high. It took five months to have it completed. When the installer came, he did not know there should have tie backs as Cynthia did not even order them. The height of the curtain was not what I had communicated with Cynthia. All these information should have been communicated between the installer and Cynthia. I noticed the height mistakes and notified the installer immediately, he was very mad because he needed to redo these brackets. That room was very hot, I mentioned this to her and asked for blackout lining. Now the room is still very hot with these curtains. I realized the lining should be blackout plus thermal. There is such lining which will greatly cool down the temperature. But she did not even suggest anything like this to me. I don't think Cynthia provided me the professional suggestions to cover my problem. Every professional should know that thermal lining would relieve the temperature problem but she did not. Now I have a VERY expensive curtain hanging there still with very unpleasant temperature to suffer. I am not sure about other designers in that company so I can not comment about them. But in case Cynthia Ney answers your email, run.. or request to work with another agent. read more

Through kids playdates two panels of our sheer curtains were torn. I found Doreen and Windows & Beyond via Yelp and called her on a Sun. Given I called during off hours I thought I would just leave a message. But Doreen actually picked up! Not only that, she spent time to talk to me about my needs and was able to e-mail me some info that same day. Then very soon after our initial contact, she came over to our house to do the estimate. She was very open to work with me on pricing and her vast amount of knowledge on treatment is amazing. We pick these awesome and beautiful sheer window treatment to replace the ones torn by the kids. They look splendid! The installer form Windows & Beyond was also courteous and very professional. Everything was taken down and put up extremely swiftly. I would highly recommend Doreen and her window treatment business to anyone who needs window treatment replacement. read more

I visited the showroom twice, once on my own then again with my husband. I spoke to Jorge both times. Jorge seemed very knowledgable and helpful in presenting what different types of window coverings might work for our home. The second time, we brought our measurements and asked for a quote by email and haven't heard back since. We tried following up by phone twice, spoke to an actual person the first time leaving a message for Jorge. The second time I left a msg on the machine. No call back. No email. No quote. No next step to making a purchase. At this price point, I would expect at least a response for potential buyers. I'm still interested in HD. But even if I went back in person and placed an order in person, I'd be concerned of the responsiveness/customer service during the ordering and installation phases. read more

Fall of 2018, through my GC's referral, I was very lucky to meet Doreen, the head of Windows & Beyond at Palo Alto. For my patio doors, I needed a drapery instead of blinds to minimize the sound echo, due to the hardwood flooring and smooth drywall finishes, and to minimize the heat transfer due to the large opening. I am a retired architect, designed and hired GC to build my retirement house. I thought I should be able to figure something out for my 12' wide patio door opening by research online. And I realized later, the drapery track for anything more than 9' or 10' wide opening with 2 drapery panels opening from the center, does require good library selections and professional knowledge. Also good drapery detailing is so important to the overall work quality. Doreen is a very conscientious experienced drapery expert with very good design sense. She helped me going through the entire process, such as determine the design styles, fabric types, drapery assembly details, cost and most importantly the track. In order to make sure all would go well with my interior design, she double checked the possible options with us while taking measurements at our house. A year later, my wife and I still have been very happy with the result. By the way, their installer John, he is a pro. He did an excellent job. I observed his installation process. He must have many years of experience to achieve that level of quality work. read more

Michael was great! My master bedroom Hunter Douglas shades were broken and he made it his priority to woke me in his schedule. Windows and Beyond has a wonderful selection of window treatments, from blinds, shutters and amazing fabrics! We have owed two residences in the past ten years and recently came back to purchase and have the Hunter Douglas shutters installed by windows and beyond. They never disappoint with simple lines, high quality and the installation was so quick by their installation team. I cannot thank Jorge enough for bringing to life two of our homes, overall Jorge makes the sales experience so seamless and customer service is exceptional! Also can't beat the warranty, anything goes wrong, they are there to quickly respond and repair. Thank you Jorge and Windows and Beyond Team! read more

Doreen did my window coverings and did a fabulous job. I think that's her speciality. She offered lots of good advice with interior decorating as well and I am glad that I hired her. Doreen did a fabulous job helping me decide the style and look of the room then finding just the perfect treatment that I was seeking. she really has an eye for what is going to have that WOW factor in your room. Her team was great and everything got installed without a hitch. Doreen is truly customer satisfaction orientated as she offers you resources to do things to help you complete your decorating in the most cost effective way possible even when it is not related to her selling you product. I definitely have been singing her praises to friends and would not hesitate to recommend her services and expertise. Kay in Union City read more

These guys are awesome. I was having issues with another supplier over my Hunter Douglas shade installation so I called Hunter Douglas directly seeking help. They recommended Windows and Beyond to me as a premier supplier of theirs who they felt exceptionally comfortable with recommending. Needless to say they were spot on. Windows and Beyond immediately sent out an installer to assess the problem who ordered the required replacement items. Withing less than 3 weeks the parts were in and the shade was installed. The best thing is that there was no charge to me since the issue was a manufacturing problem at the plant. The owner of Windows and Beyond told me he would work out the charges with Hunter Douglas and that I need not worry about it. 5 Stars and 2 thumbs up for Windows and Beyond. I highly recommend them and yes I will use them again. read more

I cannot stand the of the silhouette blinds that Windows & Beyond installed. I made my decision based on some BAD information given to me by their female employee. I will never return to them, and this is unfortunate because they were very good many years ago. When Doreen, the owner, worked in the Fremont location and serviced you, the service was 5-star. She helped me on two projects that were very pleasing. However, she has since expanded and is always in the other showroom . Instead, I have worked with Jorge and another female employee. Jorge seems overwhelmed with too much work, is slow to respond, and makes you feel like you need to rush your decisions. I ended up working with the female employee who gave me some incorrect information that cost me a $5,000+ problem. Only go to them if Doreen is working with you exclusively. read more

I work at a major Tech company. They assured us they were more than capable of handling a job we asked them to do. Not only was the job delayed twice, but the installers had no clue on how to program the shades. They blamed the manufacturers for not answering the help line when they called because of a fire at their call desk????. After multiple visits they finally finished the job and then 4 weeks later the blinds are coming apart. I emailed them to come and fix their install since it comes with a warranty and no answer. It's a shame they lack professionalism and work ethic since we could of referred them to other jobs around the area. Instead I'm making sure everyone stays clear of this mess. Not only am I highly dissatisfied, I want to emphasize how embarrassing it was to choose this company as a vendor. Stay clear!! read more

We recently sold our 25 year old custom built home in Mission San Jose California for $100,000 above asking price. It sold in less than 10 days...for two reasons only...Corey Green our Rockcliff realtor and Doreen Yun of Windows And Beyond. Our realtor, Corey advised us to hire Doreen as a stager. It did the trick! Doreen came to the house took pictures and measurements then devised a staging phenomena that resulted in the most magnificent showcasing of our home. The "Beyond" in their name stands for "beyond compare! She was so informed about the specific market of Mission San Jose. We followed her every advise to the "t" and our home looked magnificent. Doreen is so easy to work with and finished the entire job in one full work day. We have nothing but rave comments for her professionalism and her deep understanding of the client desires of our unique area. I would not hesitate to choose her in a heartbeat for a staging project and for any other home interior solutions you are looking to solve. She is the BEST!!!! read more

We bought a home with Hunter Douglas blinds a few years ago. We started having trouble with a few of our accordion blinds, such as strings snapping. Jorge at Windows and Beyond has been an invaluable help, first in getting them repaired and then most recently personally stepping in to get us a new blind at a tremendous discount. He knew that we tried to have the blind repaired many times and didn't think it was fair for us to pay full price for a new blind. He worked the problem until he arrived at a novel solution. He got us a great price and our new blind is perfect. Over 3 years he has never let us down, but this last time he really went above and beyond the call of duty. Truly world class service, hard to find these days. read more

Doreen helped me sell my San Jose home with her expert staging skills and talented team (kudos also to her colleague Sejal). I have Hunter Douglas blinds throughout my whole house. The blinds have been there for 14+ years now. Most of them are still in great shape. I've had 4 of them that need to be repaired somewhat. I brought these to Windows & Beyond in 2 separate visits. Both times the issues were handled by Jorge, a very knowledgeable, friendly, and responsible guy. On top of his great help, Hunter Douglas offers quite a few issues with life-time warranty. In the end, the cost to me on the repair was very reasonable, and the overall experience was just great. I'm glad I bought Hunter Douglas 14 years ago, and I'm glad this little great shop, Windows & Beyond, is in my neighborhood to help me further. BTW, Jorge deserves a raise! read more

I had a fantastic experience with this business, from the beginning to the installation of the beautiful roman shades. Doreen is a delight, very hard working and has a heart. She is out to give the best quality at the best price she can offer. She did all the measuring and offered some very good suggestions. Al, the installer, was also a wonderful person. He did his job so well, and he has a wonderful and kind personality. Most transactions of this kind are not fun, they're usually pushing you or way too corporate. This is Doreen's own business, and it's great to support someone who does such an excellent job. read more
