I highly recommend Windows and Beyond, and working with Doreen! Amazing customer service, and great products. We recently moved into the area and were in need of blinds for our 2 story townhouse. My husband wanted automatic blinds, and so I found Hunter Douglas blinds were sold at windows and beyond. I submitted an inquiry online and within 24 hours, Doreen called us. As the shelter in place had just taken effect, Doreen offered to FaceTime us to do an assessment of our windows and for her to show us some options for the blinds. Once she had our info, she sent an initial quote and told us she'd mail us some samples and schedule someone to come take measurements. About a week later the measurements were taken but the samples had not yet arrived. We were on a bit a time crunch as I was expecting our first baby's arrival in a few weeks and blinds were important for our privacy; Doreen knew this and dropped off samples to our home so we could quickly place our order. We really appreciated how flexible and accommodating she was given the situation! Once the blinds were ready, the installer was quick to get everything set up in our house (thankfully before our baby arrived). He also wore a mask both times, which we greatly appreciated. We purchased top up/bottom down blinds, with automation and are really getting good use out of them. Also, my husband connected the blinds to Google Home so we have different modes we can tell Google to execute based on time of day (ex at night we close them entirely). read more

Pretty horrible experience. We have been trying to get our Hunter Douglas blinds repaired for the last 3 weeks. We've left numerous messages and they keep saying they're not sure when they can schedule us in. I don't understand how their scheduling system works, but if they're busy, they need to book out a week or two and not have their customers continuing to call back. DO NOT purchase with them since you will receive ZERO after care once they are done with the sale. read more

I have had 2 great experiences with Windows and Beyond. I have 5 different kinds of Hunter Douglas window coverings that we bought 16 years ago. Our tenants accidently broke the mounting clips on 2 different window coverings which have since been discontinued. I called Windows and Beyond and spoke with Adela, the office manager and both times she was able to get me exactly what I needed for perfect repairs. Genuinely excellent customer service!! read more

Doreen came highly recommended by my good friend. I was a new homeowner and decided that I wanted to decorate properly with an experienced designer. After doing a walkthrough of my home, she carefully picked out several pieces of furniture that she felt would work well with the color and tone of my home. During my walkthrough of the furniture, we swapped out pieces that I was not as fond of and also to fit my budget. I appreciated the care she took in selectively choosing the furniture for my place. I don't usually write reviews but this time I really would like to share my glad experience about Doreen and her team. My rollers were purchased last month from Windows & Beyond Inc and installed two weeks ago, We visited the Mountain View show room early Sep, truthfully speaking, the patience of the Sales + Designer Doreen surprised me, although a lot of questions and ideas from us, she treated me and my family professionally, provided considerate advices on style, color, shape/size which later fit well on our new home, it is the first house we had in Silicon Valley. The lead time is also beyond my expectation, only took 2 weeks confirmed receiving all my rollers (which usually could be 4 weeks long), all are installed by Mr. Richard Johnson on that Friday, right before I moved in. Mr. Johnson was also the person measuring all 11 windows' dimensions for my new home, he is working quietly and super efficient, not even make a scratch after all the installation, kudos to him, too! By the way, with all 11 windows installed with Hunter Douglas, I think the price I was given is still competitive with the quality I had (sorry I need to keep the actual price veiled usually it's a biz secret) read more

I went to this shop about a year ago. At the time I wasn't totally convinced I wanted window coverings for my sliding glass door. The salesman, Rick, came out and we looked over the options. I needed to think about it. He was leaving for a vacation the next day and said he would contact me. He NEVER DID! Fast forward to present time...now I'm convinced I need the verticals for privacy. Back to the shop. Order very expensive duette type verticals. Had a couple of questions. Same salesman was going to find out and get back to me. NEVER DID! One good point (hence the 1 star), I decide to go back to traditional verticals and I did get my deposit back. At that point I probably should have gone elsewhere but no I felt guilty. Rick came out and measured etc. i needed 1 vertical and one mini blind. I had 1 blind in the room so I wanted to match the valence on the mini blind. Rick told me he'd check to see if I could get the same valences. He'd get back to me. He NEVER DID! Blinds were installed today and several options were wrong! The valences were different. The installer questioned why Rick did order the matching one! In additions the pulls are wrong. So frustrating! I'm upset! Hopefully, dealing with the owner will result in satisfaction. Not with Rick. Though I love Hunter Douglas, I might think twice next time! Update....owner came out and fixed everything! Upgrade to 2 * stars! read more

I had this business install shades in my bay window. Scheduling to have them installed was very hard since they did not want to come outside of business hours or on a weekend. The measurements of the first set of shades was incorrect. Then I had to go through the whole thing of finding a day when I could be home during the day to have them installed. Three months later after I ordered them they are finally installed. after what I went through. I thought they should have given me a discount for having the shades installed so late. I will not use them again. I do not know if they accept credit cards, I was not given that option when I made my payment. read more

We used Windows & Beyond twice, once at our current house and once at our previous house. We are very happy with the results both times. For our current house, Doreen did all the windows in our four bedrooms. Each room is unique with its own style and fabric. The only reason we didn't have her do more is because we decided not to put any window coverings on our living room, dinning room and family room. Our lot is pretty big, we don't need the privacy and we want all the natural light. For our previous house, Doreen did all the windows in the entire house. We have gotten many compliments for our living room window coverings when guests visited. Doreen has been in the window design business for a long time. I had an upsetting experience with this company. I phoned and talked with Doreen. I explained I owned a rental condominium and needed window coverings as quickly as possible. She assured me if I placed an order I could have them in one week. She herself couldn't help me, as her daughter was getting married during the weekend, instead she had Cynthia contact me. The next day Cynthia came to the condo, measured, and reaffirmed I could have things in one week. I signed an order for 19 Hunter-Douglas cell shades and used my credit card to place a substantial deposit. This was on a Friday. On Monday I started to place an ad to show the unit for rent, based on the one-week time-frame for window coverings. I decided I had better confirm the window-covering installation schedule before having someone sign a lease. When I reached Cynthia she said they would be installed in two weeks. She denied telling me they would be in in a week. She insisted Doreen couldn't have told me that. She then explained it takes Hunter-Douglas a week to fabricate an order, and several more days for them to ship the order to California. Furthermore Windows and Beyond won't schedule the installation until the order is actually in the company's possession, further delaying the process, After several rude text messages and phone calls, i cancelled my order. Thankfully I found Patti, at Finishing Touch Interiors in San Jose. She came that same Monday. She knew we could get cell shades from a different manufacturer and they were in her office by Thursday. Her installer was booked until the following Wednesday. She told me that before I placed my order. Her honesty and integrity were refreshing after my experience with Windows and Beyond. Called to get a quote, the owner told me I should come in to see the samples. We scheduled an appt but when I showed up, she had forgotten and was on her way out. She gave me a quick 10 minutes, told me I shouldn't worry about price that she would take care of things and she knew what she was doing. She asked me to email her with the measurements of my windows and she would provide me with a quote. I emailed her and haven't heard anything back ... it's been about 3 weeks. She must be doing well and just doesn't need my business. I would give an even lower review but I think 1 star is the lowest I can go! read more
