Came by at night and the windows were foggy and the sign above the place barely visible in the dark but I have a serious addiction to Jerk chicken and let me tell you...some of the best I've had since West Indian Day...even late in the day after it had been on the steam table for a while...absolutely awesome. Although, I feel kinda bad for some of the bad experiences before me, I never had a bad experience regarding food and customer service at this eatery. Physically, GDK isn't grand and hispterish. It's what most people call "a hole in the wall" type of place due to the two seating arrangements and a ATM standing tall in the front of the buffet. But I would just categorize this place as a takeout spot. You get your food and bounce. So even though, the restaurant aesthetics may be blah, GDK makes up for it with serving good, tasty food and great service. The ladies in the front are always nice to consumers. I've waited on many lines at this place and never seen any verbal mishaps. They like to joke around too and it also appears they know most of the consumers including myself. But I'm sure arguments has happened and hopefully, those kind of situations are handle, appropriately because if they are not, well you always have Yelp to make your PSAs. Lol. So now the food... it's very delicious. As often as I go here, I never had any bad food experiences where it forced me to sever ties. I had their breakfast items (their cornmeal, which is my favorite) along with their bakes with saltfish, etc. For lunch, I tried both their fish and jerk chicken dishes. The food was very tasty and spicy. Especially the jerk chicken. It can be spicy for some folks. But I love spicy so I didn't mind. The rice and peas was addictively tasteful as well. They have small, medium and large dishes with price ranges from 5 bucks to 14 bucks for the fish. The chicken dish may be a dollar or two dollar less than the fish dish. But just ask for pricing to confirm. They also take credit/debit cards with a 10 dollar minimum. I come here a lot before work or during lunch if I'm in the area. Terrible service but good food. I guess if you don't want to deal with the bitchy ass ladies that work here then order Uber eats. I saw how dismissive she was to the Uber eats delivery guy, so if anything is wrong on the order at from the bad customer service. Like damn, why work there if you don't want to? If you want a place where they don't wear any masks, gloves or hair nets come here. Lady making my food had no hair net on, no gloves no mask. So as the "chefs" in the back. There register is broken so they just make up random prices. 2 weeks ago I ordered a large okra & saltfish with provision and 1 bake. I paid with card and it came up to $12.42. ( when you pay with card it's a little bit extra ) Today I ordered the same thing but paid with cash and it came up to $12.50.. how. Just overall disgusting and unsanitary. read more

On 12-14 at 11am I ordered 2 meals, the young lady that was serving 5'8 - 200+ lbs light skin black hair was on her phone and not paying attention to the order details. When I got home to eat my food I got the wrong food I then try to contact the establishment by calling 718- 872-5722 & 347-636-1725 but no answer from either line. Very unprofessional and inconvenience to me in which I instantly lost my appetite. Waste of my money and time I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone and would not be returning. read more

I just found my NEW favorite caribbean spot . Saturday evening , I walked 45 mins from Queens just to get some Caribbean food for my dad and i because it was his birthday and that's what we both had wanted . This place is pretty small , which I can careless about - I just wanted to know how their food was . I ordered a myself the jerk chicken special as for my dad, the medium size oxtails with rice and cabbage . This is a feedback for the owner or management ..,The food is good but they really need to work on they people skills.. At the end of the day, you are open for business to serve customers and if your service continues to be so anti-customers.. you will lose eventually lose your business. I visited your establishment today, I ordered large stew chicken and soup. I also was ordering a drink and asked for an small empty foam cup to use for my drink. The lady say no we don't give cups because we have to pay for it... I said, I'll pay you for the cup, she insisted, you don't give cup. From a business point how much really is that one foam cup.. a penny when ordered in bulks but you rather lose business over a penny cup.. It doesn't add up. I ordered food from here from UberEATS. I ordered a medium curry chicken for my daughter. The portion was good, the flavor is good but it was so unbelievably spicy. There really needs to be a disclaimer when there is this much pepper added to something. I gave this to my 6 year old who hasn't stopped coughing since. I can't even really eat more than 2 pieces of chicken. Not bad at all but not for me. read more

THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE! I purchased a LARGE chicken foot soup. When I arrived home, i opened the container, which was filled to the top. It was full and started spilling , so I took a sip of the broth. I took the chicken out because I like consuming the chicken prior to the broth. Only to realize that they only gave me only 2 pieces of chicken! I was appalled and decided to return the soup. When I asked for my money back, the manager refused to give me the refund. I no longer wanted the soup, and preferred my refund. At this point, I lost my appetite. I explained that i am a frequent customer, and would hate to not being a returning customer. The manager said he does not mind losing a customer. The manager said he can only return $3 (of the $6 that I paid). He said that I took a sip , therefore I should pay something. I explained it's not my fault that they only gave me 2 pieces and prior to sipping the broth, I was not aware that there was ONLY 2 pieces. The manager suggested I call the police if I want my money back because he is not going to take a loss. The man then proceeded to threaten to slap the sh*t out of me. This was very unprofessional. I love the curry chicken roti, jerk chicken (well more oven baked but it's still good) and oxtail. I wanted a specific piece of Mac and cheese and instead of letting me know that she can't cut it a certain way (in which she could. I was not asking for the middle piece it was a corner that would have been the next serving anyway)she pretended like she didn't her me and proceeded to cut a small portion that I have never received before. I also wanted jerk chicken by itself and instead of giving me 2 piece she gave me one. Who pays $5 for one piece of jerk chicken and this is not the city?
