Highly recommended. My wife and I have been regulars at Grace Day Spa for nearly a year, and it has consistently been a highlight of our self-care routine. The space is always pristine, from the fresh linens to the calming atmosphere. While every provider is professional and skilled, Kelly is my go-to. As someone who requires very firm pressure, our sessions have become truly therapeutic. She has developed a deep understanding of my physiology and knows exactly what's needed to get my body back to 100% through incredibly deep tissue work and fascia manipulation. A quick heads-up: the walls aren't floor-to-ceiling, so you can occasionally hear ambient noise from the hallway. However, it's a minor trade-off and very typical for similar boutique spas in the mid-peninsula. In terms of cost, prices are consistent with the area -- not the lowest, but a great value given the quality. They were able to accommodate me the day I called which was nice BUT the space has open cubicles so you can hear everything going on around you. The music was also wonky and flipped into a live version (with applause) in the middle of my service WTH But the worst part was exiting my average service: I asked to add 20% and the receptionist tried to bargain the tip up. Came here recently for a massage. Agree with some of the other reviewers when they noted that asking for more tip is just weird. I already gave a 22% tip, and you're asking for a couple bucks more?? C'mon. So I said fine, but it's still really weird. Also, at times, I felt so exposed under the sheets, esp after each time I had to switch positions. The massage was phenomenal. Very strong! I treated myself to two hours ($160) Then the experience was completely ruined when I was accosted for a larger gratuity. I tipped $40 which is 25% and they said "not enough" I had paid in cash and said that's all I have and that I was sorry. Even though I felt it was a decent tip. The other one-star review was spot on. Price went up in May. I went 2 days ago and was told when I was paying that there was $2 credit card fee. It was overall a pleasant experience at Grace Day Spa. The appointment: It was super easy to make the appointment. I sent in an appointment request online and got a response in minutes. The ambiance: As some people have already mentioned, this is a nice place for a massage but it's not a fancy spa. What you get is a clean room with thick curtains to block out the light from outside. The massage table is sturdy and comfortable. The walls do not go all the way up to the ceiling so you'll heard some background noise and people talking outside. People do seem respectful about using their inside voices though. I would suggest to the owner to turn up the spa music to drown out some of the background noise but it was overall fine for me. The massage: The massage was good. Sometimes it takes a few try to find your perfect masseuse. My massage therapist can definitely feel my knots and problem areas without me telling her. She worked hard to try to get rid of them and I appreciated that. Her technique was a little jerky for my preference. She used her elbows a lot while I prefer hands and palms. It was still overall a very solid massage. The price: The price is hard to beat. They take credit card but it's a small business so they prefer cash. Help them out if you can. I didn't get any pressure about tipping but everyone should tip. It's a massage, it's not essential. If you don't want to tip, maybe you should stay home. read more

My shoulder have been bothered my for quite a while, i found this place is just because close to my work, I asked for 2 hours and explained my shoulder issue, the person took me in was so nice to hear me out, I can tell her English is not very good but definitely tried to understand me, she did a really good job overall but especially with my shoulder, my back also got some minor issues cause I sit everyday, then she put on the hot stones on certain places that supposed to improve my blood circulation. I love each of the masseuses at Grace, they all have different massage techniques, I have a stiff neck, lumbar spine and shoulder pain due to working in front of the computer a lot, every 90 minutes of my massage relieved me of a week Fatigue, 90 minutes of massage, they didn't stop, and they didn't get lazy, they were always on time, and the hot stone was also given to me for free. I'm really glad to find a very dedicated massage shop and a good masseuse. Thank God. This is the most effective prenatal massage I have ever had (I'm on baby #3 so I've had my fair share). I intentionally say "most effective" as this was a *real massage*, not just the soft application of lotion that has been my typical experience of a prenatal massage. My masseuse was Linda and she was truly great at her craft. They did have me lay on my side, as opposed to using a prenatal table with a hole in the middle for the belly, but it worked fine. The massage style reminded me of a Thai massage - obviously not the part where they stand on you or stretch you but the massage part of a Thai massage - very firm pressure and a focus on working out the kinks and knots. read more

Not sure how this place got such high reviews. The place itself is nice with relaxing music and heated beds but the massage was itself was mediocre at best. It reminds me of those cookie cutter Chinese massage place where the masseuse is clearly not professionally trained. She tried to massage my upper back with her elbow and made a comment that I'm tight. Pushed around a few more times but did not work out any knots. I told her before my massage began that my neck, arms and hands were tight and numb but she pretty much ignored those areas. At check out they insisted I pay by cash. I gave them $100 bill, the change I got was 2 $20s and a $5... basically insisting I give a $20 tip for a mediocre massage. I guess I'll go back to calling soothe or zeel, I pay more but I've never gotten any less than a professional massage. UPDATE: The owner has made several attempts to reach out and apologize. She offered another massage by herself or another therapist. I can tell she really cares about customer satisfaction and her business. For that I'll give her a bonus star. I'm a regular customer at Grace Day Spa. I was first attracted by the great yelp rating, which appears to be the best massage place with reasonable price in my area. The location is a little difficult to find if you just drove by, but google maps did its wonder. Once I was inside the place, it has a relaxing ambiance. My masseuse came out to greet me and led me to my room. Everyone I saw who worked at the place is very warm and friendly. The massage itself is amazing. When the masseuse laid her hands on my back, I knew it was going to be great. They really tried to feel the tension on my body, and have a way to un-tie the knots. They never blindly follow a procedure, but to use their senses and professional skills to help me solve the issues. After the "heavy lifting" is done, I was treated with a hot stone that brings it to a relaxation. They also tried their best to accommodate my requests -- they offered me a heated bed in the winter and spent more time on troubled areas (e.g., neck and shoulder) when I pointed out. The masseuses who I receive massage frequently are Yona, Selina, and Shirley. They are all very good. My only suggestions is that if you like more pressure, go for Yona. The pricing is really good by the bay area standard. I especially like the 60 dollars for 75 min weekend deal. I always give a little more than 20% as tip, and they always gladly accept. (I saw some other reviews that stated they were asked for more tips but that never happened to me). From my experience, it's not super easy to find a massage place that fits every standard. But Grace Day Spa is awesome and I always left with satisfaction and promise myself to come more often. read more

I came here for the first time hoping for a good massage and that is what I got. The person at the front desk was friendly and took me right to the room. The place was clean and nice, music was soft and relaxing. The masseuse asked me if the pressure was good and it was. She worked me and in a good where, my back, legs, arms, feet, neck and even scalp. I got what I hoped for. I will say that if you just want a place with fancy oils, a sitting space with lemon water, and a gentle rubbing of your back where you get lulled to sleep, this is not that. I've been to this place a few times now and have always left happy. The ladies who work here are very nice and care about your experience. I work outdoors and my back is like a block of wood most days. I very much need someone to get in there with their elbow to get all the knots out. The price is great too. I usually do the hour for $55 and my back is nice and loose. I've paid way more for a mediocre massage and a little less at one of those cheap massage places with people who aren't really massage therapists. This place seems like a good in between. Hardly any pressure. I asked for medium pressure to start then ten minutes in asked for more pressure. The rest of the massage was more like a Swedish massage and I fell asleep. At one point she was half-heartedly running one hand along the side of my neck for a few minutes and I'm pretty sure she was using her phone with her other hand. Just as the other reviews mentioned, they are pretty annoying about tipping. They were expecting me to hand them cash and the energy was super tense/uncomfortable as I was paying. It's been a while since I've posted a review but Grace Day Spa has inspired me to share my thoughts about this wonderful business. I've been coming here for about a year and actually found them on yelp. The location is a bit obscure since it's tucked away behind The UPS store. The first time I arrived I was a bit confused since I entered through the back entrance which I've learned over the year is pretty common. You are always greeted by a friendly face upon arrival. Shirley is the owner (I think) and she is quite lovely. Everyone is always accommodating and gracious. The lighting is low, music is relaxing and the bathroom is always clean with stocked fresh clean white washcloths for personal use-which is a nice touch. The therapists are all good and the hot stones are one of my favorite parts of the session. This is my secret gem and I'm addicted to this place!! MASSAGES: Shirley-my first massage and I was impressed! I immediately knew I'd found a new massage spot and would be coming back for more. She's very thorough and applies good pressure Very relaxing experience. Salena-I have seen her multiple times and I always know that I'll get a nice, relaxing massage. She doesn't apply strong pressure. It's definitely relaxing rather than deep and therapeutic. My only wish is that she would spend more time on the feet. She always skips that part but it's still a relaxing experience. I'm certain I fall asleep and probably snore during these sessions with her. AMY-I'm giving her a new name "Amazing Amy!" I just met her and had my first massage by her yesterday evening and It was EXACTLY what I needed after a very stressful week. She is strong and extremely thorough. decided to give myself and my husband a massage while our son is out of town during spring break. I randomly yelped a local massage spa and this one stuck out to me w/ the great reviews. We parked in the small parking lot and ended up walking into the 'back side' of the spa. I noticed the area was really dimmed and wasn't greeted so I was confused, I continued walking w/ my husband and saw a masseuse who was just as shocked to see us walking around. She asked if we were ready and we said yes. with minimal dialogue she directed us to our room and said ok be ready in a few minutes. we get undressed and laid on the bed face down. The beds aren't heated. Minutes later they lightly knock on the door and enter the room. They started doing their thing and I had to raise my head up to let them know what my husband and I would like to focus on and what areas not to massage. the pressure and oil/lotion were good. nothing really to complain about. Although i was confused how they wiped us down with warm damped towels before we turn over. I really thought our hour was done but turns out we still had quite a long time to go! the experience was well. except for the fellow in the other room who would NOT shutup and used his "library voice" about whatever movies he's watched and which were his favorite. Luckily it was towards the end of the massage- BUT still! who the EFF converses during their massage?! BTW- he watched crouching tiger hidden dragon 7 times! (RME) after the session, we get dressed and walked towards a lit area which happened to lead us to the front desk! haha. NOTED! for the price of the session, it wasnt that bad. If you really want the full ambiance w/ LESS distractions, thicker walls with closed ceilings to each room and away from the main street hearing busy traffic, i suggest go to else where read more

I'm always hesitant to get Chinese massages, because often times the masseuses have no formal training and just dig their elbows into your shoulder blades and do some lackluster rubbing of your arms and feet. But Grace Day Spa has been consistently good - they don't give massages to put you to sleep (which I always feel is a waste of money), but instead their masseuses are highly trained to work your knots out without making you feel bruised or wiped out. The massage even comes with a hot stone treatment, which is an added bonus. And at $55/hr (with discounts given if you buy packages or come in frequently), it's a great price for some great therapy! As others have mentioned, there is some ambient noise being next to the train tracks and without fully enclosed rooms, but they do their best with creating a nice, peaceful environment. I was not asked to pay before treatment, and was not pressured into leaving a large tip. I do recognize that most of these establishments operate with the service worker relying heavily (if not solely) on the tip as their income so I am usually more generous percentage-wise. I feel I get just as good a quality massage as I do at a place like Spa Luxe, but at half the cost...even if I'm factoring in a $15-20 tip. Don't expect fluffy robes or lemon infused water, but come for wonderful stress relief. Highly recommended! read more

Relaxing spa. I got Shirley and I told her that I needed extra work on my back. She did exactly that! I appreciate when the massage therapist listens to your needs. The hot rocks she uses was surprising at first, but feels good. I've never had that done before. Shirley does a good job checking in to make sure the pressure was good and I was comfortable. I tend to be a bit on the shy side when it comes to asking for more or less pressure. No problems with payment or tip. Not sure what other reviewers were talking about. I'll be going back! read more
