Jade has been my go to massage therapist for a few years now, and I absolutely recommend seeing her if you're on the fence. I work construction so naturally I need semi-regular massages to make sure my muscles are nice and relaxed. Jade is always able to tell instantly where my tension is and can even tell me which side I tend to carry my tool bags on by feel alone! I get a deep tissue treatment and she is able to apply enough pressure that I need to get those deep set in knots out. She is very kind and always checks in to make sure she isn't hurting me. On top of the skill the studio is also very peaceful with privacy to change and a relaxing atmosphere with music and dim lighting which is perfect after you've had your eyes closed after a long massage. I've been to Corey's practice over a half dozen times for Rolfing sessions and can't recommend it enough. Firstly, Corey is extremely welcoming and down to earth. I really appreciate that she's so knowledgeable and a life-long learner with her practice. Her humility makes her great at what she does, but it's truly amazing how she can break down each area of the body and specifically understand how, what and where each individual can improve their current state. I told her my background, concerns and issues and she was able to make an assessment right away. She has an eye for the way our bodies are postured and can really point out so many subtle things we aren't conscious of. Gaining awareness of how we're moving is really something I am grateful for. She'll also gain a greater awareness of your physicality naturally as you progress into each different session. In those sessions she targets specific areas of the body one by one and pays close attention to what areas need time and focus. She was able to help loosen problematic areas of my body and always does a great job of revisiting or targeting those problem areas time and time again. She really does her best to personalize the experience and to understand exactly what's needed. I was really impressed by her strength, she can really put the pressure on if need be but, more importantly, she is sensitive to that and frequently asks for feedback so she can get everything just right. She describes it as just enough pressure to test the body and get the work done, but not enough to make us feel uncomfortable. This is not a massage for relaxation, it's actually work. The process involves several techniques where you'll engage your body and do movements while she pins down on certain areas. It's really not all that relaxing but it does feel like progress is truly being made and in an effective way. Corey constantly reinforces the best practices and reminds us to breathe, relax into those areas and it helps tremendously. Sometimes I won't say anything but maybe my hand will twitch, my forehead will scrunch or something will indicate I might be in pain and she notices every single time. For her, she is completely present to her practice and creates so much trust that I often just go ahead with basically whatever she decides to do knowing that she is a true professional. I honestly wish rolfing was much more common and only found it through a friend who had done work on herself. It's such a unique type of massage and I think trust is important with this work... for that reason I imagine Corey is one of the best of the best at what she does. tl;dr Corey is a gem I'm a competitive powerlifter (with a constantly aching body), and I was looking for someone who would do the type of massage that "hurts so good" - i.e. The kind that prompts thoughts like "I'm paying for this?" while you're on the table, in pain, reminding yourself to breathe. But as soon as you get up, you suddenly have this new range of motion and think "This is why!". I'm happy to say I found Corey. (To clarify the above, Corey attentively checks in about pain levels throughout the entire session and adjusts to make sure it's right for you.) I regularly made appointments with Corey over the few years I was living in the Bay Area, and I wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for a legit pro. To echo other reviewers here, she really knows her stuff. More than once, we talked about her experiences traveling take classes that would improve her practice. She'd often vary the techniques she used depending on what I was complaining about that day, and it really was a great feeling to come out of sessions feeling like your mobility/pain issues were noticeably improved each time. She's also very friendly and plays the most relaxing music during your sessions. She'll take the time to get to know you and your unique body's needs. Being active is a part of life....also getting injuries. Even though I try my best not to get injured, life happens. With that being said I have been seeing Corey for a little more than 2 years. She seems to know where my injuries are coming from and breaks down my scar tissues from daily life situations. I have never felt better, I feel more flexible and stronger in my movements. My mom has been seeing her too and she hates people touching her, somehow she assures her clients that she truly cares for them. I recommend Corey for anyone looking for a good deep tissue massage. I run a few half marathons a year, run several if not many 5K/10Ks as well. I work out about 4-5 times a week and play basketball about the same. My buddy does take a pounding. Worst of all I usually sit at a desk all day working on my computer station. My full body always needs a good massage to relieve the large amounts of stress I have in it. For her size I was skeptical at first but (WOW) she did an amazing job. Really worked out the knots in back. (BTW I show up usually with 3-5 in my back alone) She really works them as well as the rest of my body. She is really able to dig in there and apply just enough pressure to make me want to run out but at the same point I feel the stress leaving my body. Afterwards, I feel like I have done a workout all over again but my body is so much more relaxed. She gives me good advice about maintaining a healthy lifestyle as well. She has me rolling out know between workouts, which really helps for day to day. I have been coming to Cory for over 2 years and don't see myself stopping anytime soon. read more

I have been a client of Corey's for almost 2 years starting when she was working at Equinox Palo Alto. I had suffered from back/neck pain for over 30 years before I realized that much of my problems stemmed from muscular issues, and not just being out of alignment. With regular chiropractic adjustments, exercises, and massage therapy, I am now pain-free much of the time. Corey has provided me with (additional) exercises and advice on how to maintain good back and neck health. Last year I developed plantar fasciitis and tendinitis (in my wrist) and was told by my medical doctor that there wasn't much he could do for it. I started to see Corey and she worked on both areas once a week for three weeks in a row. My plantar fasciitis pain went away during that time. The tendinitis took about a month longer to resolve. I continue to see Corey about twice a month, and she is amazing! She is trained in different techniques and continues to get training so she can better serve her clients. I'll start this review by saying that for the last 25 years I have destroyed my body with sports like ice hockey,Muay Thai, jiujitsu, grappling , circuit training and running. I am a trainer as well. Over the course of learning training and teaching I have built up quite a bit of scar tissue. About 2 years ago I injured my elbows to the point that I could not hold my cell phone to my face, or extend my arms out enough to straighten my elbows. Over the last 12 months I tried everything I could think of to try to fix my issue or at least ease the pain that I was feeling daily. From acupuncture to physical therapy to steroid shots into my elbows. None of them seemed to have much effect. I was introduced to corey by a mutual client of ours. At the time I had not heard much of body work nor did I have any clue to what it could do for me. While talking to corey on the phone she explained some of the process and told me that body work would help breakdown the scar tissue I had accumulated over the years and release some of the tension in my muscles and tendons. Over the last couple months I have had corey work on me. The results of this has been amazing. My elbows are not in continuous pain and I have gained more mobility than I have had in years. I discovered Corey through my chiropractor. After a couple injuries, kids and years away from my former life as an elite cyclist I was in desperate need of a strong and knowledgeable CMT. As some reviewers note, don't let Corey's appearance fool you--despite her youth and small stature she is very experienced and super strong! Did I mention strong?! Corey is one of the few massage therapists (and I've been to dozens) I've worked with who has the knowledge and strength to address the hip and IT band issues that plague many cyclists, runners and triathletes. She's also the first CMT I've known to work the rib cage for better breathing (and in my case, diminish scar tissue left from age-old accidents from bike racing).
