Gah, i wish you guys were closer to me, the food was great!!! There's another place that isn't much further (I won't name names) and it's not even close to as good. So far in the probably 10 times I've driven the 30+ minutes for this place, i've been very happy with the food. I'll start off by saying that I'm a Texan, so I'm very biased, and I have a pre-conceived idea of what BBQ is supposed to be. I'll give it to GQue. They at least try. For a chain BBQ joint, it's not bad. I'd put them at about the same level as Dickie's when it comes to food quality. Their sweet tea was on point! It was probably my favorite part. The brisket was ok. It was a little dry, and there wasn't a lot of flavor to it, but it did pick up the sauce well. The turkey was actually better than a lot of places because it was NOT dry at all, but it could've used a little more flavor. The sausage was...sausage...it tasted like everyone else's jalapeño sausage. The sauces were ok. The hot and original sauces tasted pretty much the same, and I'm pretty sure they were grocery store sauce, very generic-tasting. The mustard sauce was decent but was one of those that once you have it on a few things you get sick of it. The Mac & Cheese tasted like it was probably some powdered mix. It was very watery and not very good. The service was good. The girl at the register seemed to have the personality of a fence post, but she got her job done. The people bussing the tables were super nice and attentive. The atmosphere was about what you'd expect in a chain restaurant like this, relaxed but a bit loud. Overall, it wasn't a bad spot to stop for lunch, although a bit expensive. I'll probably stop by again sometime, but it's definitely not a destination. read more

I'm not a huge fan of barbecue and I LOVE this place. A good pulled pork sandwich really gets me.

Always amazing, even when my wife and I go later in the evening. The brisket is delicious, the jalapeño cheddar sausage is awesome, and the Mac and cheese is amaaaaazing. The service is always friendly, and if you're into bbq sauce, the stuff they provide is delicious. My favorite thing is pulled pork on Texas toast with Mac n' cheese and their spiced bbq sauce with some of the pickled onions. Amaaaazing. Don't forget to ask for the Texas toast, pickle, and pickled onion. It just rounds out the meal, even if you don't make a half-sandwich with the Mac n' cheese. I called ahead and was told they were closing early for 4th of July, but they would accept an online order, the customer service person instructed me to leave a note on how to have the coupon applied to my order and I appreciated that. I rolled in there about 10 minutes before they closed and I was greeted wholeheartedly by the nicest manager, who asked my name and was able to show me my order by name! He immediately walked me toward my bagged and ready order and made a point to show me that they had reduced the coupon amount. His smiles and eagerness to provide service was amazing. I finally went back here after more than 3 years, because their first time it was sorta meh. Today I ordered brisket and pulled pork with baked beans. $13 for all that, so not terrible. Unlike the first time I came in, the pork was properly pulled, and not over-processed by a machine. Though for some strange reason they ruined it with the seasoning they dash on before serving. It just doesn't need that, and to me that's a sign that they think there's not enough flavor in the pork, and frankly I disagree with them. The brisket didn't need it because it had good bark, but so did the pork. Still only 2 BBQ sauces, which is weird for a BBQ restaurant. IDK what it is about some BBQ restaurants, but their floor, like Sugarfire Smoke Shack, is really oily and slippery in spots. But go to Brother's and their floor is always squeaky clean. Not sure how this happens. Anyway... good stuff! Will have to try something else next time. read more

I've been meaning to check this place out for a while now. It was well worth it. I ended up getting the pulled pork sandwich with the slaw on it. Turns out apples in slaw is a great addition. There is new management in the Westminster location. Please swing by to try anything on menu. Each item is a worthy meal. I have gone in three times during last two weeks after boycotting 2 years. Several times I witnessed others being treated poorly. More than once I felt my hard earned money wasn't important enough for former manager. The vibe is more comfortable & enjoyable. The pleasant cashier & the people working diligently behind the meat counter at ease & attentive to orders at same time. Food consistently tasty. My latest visit I ate in store on Sunday afternoon. I met the Assistant Manager. I commented on how well his team works together in a calming, collaborative, & collective manner. His staff, ages from 17 years on up, were unified & all need to be commended for a job well done. I would not hesitate to bring my own mother to G-Que Barbecue if she comes to visit in Colorado. Surprisingly good, even by Texas standards. The moist brisket was on point, the lean was a little too dry, and the turkey was delicious too. The spicy BBQ sauce was a good complement, especially for the lean brisket. The bark was pretty thin but tasty. The people were friendly and it was nice to not have to wait in line at all.
