I have a terrible experience here with my filling done by dr. Alex. I came in here for a cleaning and was told I have a small cavity. This is also my very first cavity in all 24 years of my life and I trusted my dentist through the whole process. I had my one teeth filled and was experiencing pain and sensitivity but I waited about two weeks to see maybe if it's just my teeth trying to adjust. I made an appointment to go back and get it refilled and a second tooth next to the initial one had been drilled and filled without me knowing beforehand. I was never asked or told before the drilling that another teeth would have been touched in the process. I waited another two weeks after that, still pain and sensitivity. I cannot chew on anything on that side of my mouth. I cannot drink anything that is not room temperature without it triggering a sharp pain in my teeth. I went back again and a temporary filling was put it. Same ordeal, pain and sensitivity. Waited another two weeks and did a scan and was told I still had a bit of cavity that wasn't taken care of the very first time and was assured that this time for sure would be the last time I had to deal with this pain. So some more drilling was done and the temporary filling was put back in. AGAIN pain and sensitivity. I went back one last time and was told that maybe I was just allergic to the filling and a different filling was put in. Not only did it not help, I constantly feel like I have to grind my teeth now. This new filling also came with a lingering discomfort that has been causing me a headache. I will not be coming back here and I for sure do not recommend this place at all. Initially after the first filling was done, I had asked if I could please switch a dentist and I was denied that. This is obviously intentional negligence to not put into consideration what a patient is asking you. This experience is really traumatizing especially for what was told a small filling that took me 5 visits going back and forth. Please always ask for a second opinion about your cavities because this could literally be you. I really wish I have never had my teeth filled or step foot in this place. I can never rest or eat the same again and have to deal with this pain everyday. Please go somewhere else or avoid this place. read more

So the doctor who did my root canal and who fixed my teeth did a good job though it did hurt a few times when I went to do my right side root canal yesterday. The air tube kept flowing air through my nose and I couldn't breastn so I had to let the doctor know if I could rest for a bit before we continued. It was hurting my gum and making my nose unable to breath so I give you guys a rating of 4 stars just because you guys were really patient and nice with your customers but all I'm asking is to please be gently next time when you do root canal cause the air tube almost mad me pass out so if you can as a doctor just put the airtube in small air so customers don't feel uncomfortable that's all but other than that thank you for everything and will be back soon.the front desk office people were very nice at checking in and making sure I was on time and was very polite so I'm also greatful for that as well read more

my mom was very upset and disappoint at this place today， her teeth was pain for a week, so she went to this dental center for a checkup. first she went for an X-ray, she told the technician that the tooth on her lower right side was hurting. After taking the X-ray, the lady asked her to wait outside. Later, in another room, a male doctor examined her.and him about the pain in her lower right tooth, and he said it needed to be extracted. Initially, my mom was hesitant because of the fear of pain, but he insisted it was serious, claiming that without extraction, the muscles would atrophy. So, my mom reluctantly agreed to the extraction. After being numbed, she realized he had extracted the upper tooth instead. she was extremely angry at the irresponsible behavior of the dentist. that is rediculus removing the wrong tooth like wth ...... that tooth wasn't even hurting, she feel psychologically uncomfortable. When she confronted them, they were unreasonable, insisting that the upper tooth also needed to be extracted. she argued that they needed her permission to remove the upper toothfirst, and besides, that tooth wasn't causing her any pain. This whole ordeal has left her with a significant psychological impact. It's unbelievable that such a dental clinic operates this way. read more

Wowowowowow best dental experience I've ever had. I came across GP Dental after calling numerous dental offices for an emergency wisdom teeth removal. My wisdom teeth was erupted for a while now but it didn't start hurting till a few days ago when the gum got infected. The infection started effecting me on Saturday night and by Sunday, it was too painful to eat and open my mouth past a certain point. I quickly contacted any dental offices that were open but unfortunately a lot of them were either closed or wouldn't be able to take me till a week later. I decided to do a quick search on Yelp in my past neighborhood and came across GP Dental. I quickly called Monday morning and I was able to schedule an appointment later that day at 4 PM! While other places charged a minimum of $75 just for the consultation and xray, GP Dental was completely free! Which is great since I have no dental insurance. Once I arrived at GP Dental, I had to fill out some forms since it was my first time there and within 10 minutes, I was quickly taken to a room where a SUPER SUPER nice lady took my xray. They had this new machine that swirls around you and the entire process took less than 3 minutes. After my xray was taken, I waited for about another 20 minutes or so and then was brought back into another room where I met the dentist who extracted my wisdom tooth! He explained to me that my the gum around my wisdom teeth was infected and because of it, it was causing me a lot of pain. He also explained that since my mouth could only be opened so far, he might need me to come back another day. However, after careful consideration, he told me that he'll just take it out since it'll be better for me. Literally, took only 5 minutes for the entire extraction! I was so impressed! The doctors and the assistants there were so nice and welcoming and extremely helpful! I couldn't describe a better experience. At the end, my total only came out to be $100!! Best dentist :) Dr. Chen is super nice and he was very patient with me throughout the entire Invisalign process. I had braces before but I wasn't able to bite down properly and my teeth were not straight after having them removed, despite wearing a retainer consistently. I recently got the Invisalign off and I feel so happy! My teeth are straighter and I can bite down completely. Many people have complimented my smile and also my jaw is more aligned too! I highly recommend going here if you have had years of bad dentist experiences. Staff has also taken a lot of measures to ensure safety of patients during this time. read more

I had an implant done by Dr. Chen. Everything is okay not until very recent that I felt pain on the implant area up to the temple and head. I called the office if I can see Dr Chen for Im afraid it might be an infection but the front desk who answered the call was extremely rude. She told me that I can call back two days after so I can make an appointment. I told her that I can't have this pain that maybe the doctor is okay for me to take pain meds but she told me that the doctor will have to see me first before taking any medications. I asked her if I can talk to Dr Chen quick in the phone and she said that the doctor is really busy. When I told her that I'm gonna make a complaint, she said "Go ahead, make a complaint" and hangs up the phone. I can't rate GP dental highly enough. The receptionists, technicians, assistants and dentist were all very nice. They squeezed me in the day I called. I have no dental insurance but it only cost me $25 to be seen and $200 to have my painful wisdom tooth extracted. They offered to clear the doctor's schedule and do my other remaining tooth as well; I refused but really appreciated it. The Dr. also checked in with me to make sure the price was okay. I've had two prior wisdom tooth extractions, one of which was pretty awful and traumatic. This was the quickest, easiest and least painful oral surgery I've had by far. I usually need more novocain than normal; I tell dentists this upfront and often they get weirdly defensive and argumentative about it, but the dentist here thanked me for telling him and gave me a quick double dose without arguing. Those shots always hurt like hell, but the assistant held my hand throughout and they were very careful to take it slow and mind my anxiety. They also let my boyfriend come in for moral support. After getting numbed up, the actual tooth extraction process took less than 45 seconds and was completely painless. My boyfriend and I couldn't believe they did it so quickly--we thought they were just getting started and then they put the gauze in my mouth and sat me up! I can't emphasize enough how quick and easy it was. Less than 24 hrs later, I have *literally* zero pain, swelling or bruising. There were no stitches or antibiotics needed so these guys must really know what they're doing. I'm already eating some foods I didn't think I would have for another three or four days. I will never go to another dentist! Very grateful I found this place. read more

I was very pleased with my first visit and glad I chose GP Dental. The office is organized and clean, very basic and nothing fancy so don't expect to walk into a luxurious spa. Their equipment is new and state of the art. The office was quite busy and there was a bit of a wait so I was there for under 2 hours which wasn't too bad when the staff works diligently and efficiently. My X-ray technician who wears glasses was in a bit of a rush but she was friendly and pleasant. Benny the hygienist did a very thorough and gentle cleaning job and always made sure I was comfortable. He did not rush and communicated each step along the way. He also gave me advice on how to take better care of the problem areas of my teeth. I briefly met with Dr. Chen for less than 10 minutes and he was cheery and easygoing. He looked at my X-ray images and quickly at my teeth and said I didn't need any work done for now except on a minor issue that he will monitor and recheck at my next visit. Then he vanished! He didn't tell me that I needed to do this and that treatment/procedure and upsell me on anything which was very honest of him. I can understand why this office is busy and highly rated. Hey everyone, this is my first ever review on Yelp. I found this place through Yelp and asked them if they could take walk in because I had a half broken tooth and I was in so much pain . Receptionist was very polite and and she was very clear on which insurance is accepted. As soon as I reached there she took my information and a guy started to take x-Ray of my teeth. They also had a new machine which takes different angles almost like a 3D vision of your teeth .that I really liked since they don't want to take any chances which by the way I haven't seen in any other DDS. Than Dentist Harold Chen was there and he was very friendly and make me feel very clam and comfortable. I went there to took my tooth off because when I went to other other two dentist a week before , they gave me a price around 2500-3000 for root canal and capping , which I couldn't afford . He also suggest me the same procedure but for my surprise he told me less than half the price and I could pay quarterly since procedure also takes about four session. I right away agreed to that and I'm so happy that I found this place. I just had the first session and still three more to go. read more

Several years back, I had a really bad experience with a dentist and had been on a search for a new one ever since. I am so glad I came across GP dental - I don't think any other place could have been this good! Dr. Chen is really nice and takes the time to answer all your questions (and I usually have a lot). If you are getting any procedure done, he does it seamlessly and you do not feel any discomfort. Also, the entire office and equipment seem to be very clean and new, which makes each visit much nicer for me. This is very very terrible service after you make a crown or do something if you get hurt you can't walk in for emergency or get help from them or anything by emergency case !!!!! I have to call for make sure I can walk in or not cause I have a lot of thing to do and need to make sure the lady who working in the front doesn't help and end up with the word appointment and emergency fully for tmr omg! I had a chipped front tooth and was agonizing about it since I don't have dental insurance. I walked in just to get a rough estimate. But it turns out they do free consultation! After which they told me it was just an old filling that's falling out and they can fix it right then. It didn't cost me nearly as much as I thought, and Dr.Chen was so wonderful and gentle. Very disappointed with Dr. Chen! I read many excellent reviews,so I decided to came here. First the receptionist/ cashier asked me to pay cash before the treatment (I has no dental insurance). After I paid cash, I waited for an hour even though I had an appointment. I don't know how they organized the schedule but I noticed that there are more than 3 patients in waiting area including me. When I met Dr. Chen in the exam room, he didn't say any words with me not even say " Hi ". He looks to my x-ray film and rush to finish my treatment. It took about half and hour to finished then he said finished and throw the equipment in his hand on to the table and it dropped on the floor. Then, he walked out the room without saying any words or asked me how do I feel with my teeth. I understand he has others patients waiting but at least he should talk or explain something to patients!!!! read more

Today was the first day I've been here and I'm glad I did. I needed an emergency root canal and the receptionist was so nice. She told me I can walk in whenever I feel like it and I did. I've been taking my children to her for about 2 years now. Dr. Jing Zhao is an amazing pediatric dentist. Originally we were seeing her at her office in Brooklyn and when I told her we moved to Queens she told me about this location on Whitney Ave. She is great with kids and very pleasant as well as professional. You get seen almost immediately. The dental office is spotless! They play netflix as you wait. There are also books to keep the children entertained. I refuse to bring my daughters to anyone else. Dr Chen is very good at what he does. I went to his office to get two fillings done yesterday, his injection technique was pretty cool, he was shaking my cheek while he injected the numbing medication so I didn't feel too much pain at all.
