Kazbah was a great Middle Eastern choice on a night strolling through Darling Harbour with a local…read morecousin. After passing by several choices, we were both happy we made the choice to stop in. While the outside area is hookah oriented, the indoor seating is vibrant and comfortable for a full and proper meal. We stopped in around 8 pm and proceeded to order a mix of items. To begin, we had the three dips (baba, hummus, roasted red pepper hummus) which was the perfect starter given how hungry we both were. Additionally, the V mango mojitos were the right balance and quenches our long walk induced thirst. The fried kibbeh were next, piping hot and delicious. For the entree portion, we shared the large and plentiful lamb shank tagine (broth was solid and the lamb shank was melt in your mouth good) and the chicken shish kebab (the sauce and marination was exceptional). Both were presented very nicely. The chicken was exceptional and the tagine was very flavorful. We ended the night wuite appropriately with some nice, piping hot tea. Overall, the meal was a very memorable part of my Sydney trip - definitely recommend the food, ambiance, and the smooth dinner experience.

They were so enticing, baba ganoush and all, you couldn't stop eating the addictive food! I also really enjoyed the mains, and loved how the meat was brought out on a skewer - it looked a little badass, like a sword skewering the prey! Overall, great place to eat, although the service isn't very polite, and have a tendency to be a little impatient!

Ok, my personal opinion is that we should not be paying a bucket load for street food - no matter…read morehow exotic. So there is currently a new fab of making a place looking good in order to charge a lot of money, yet the food is always sub-pa. However, this is not that kind of place. Firstly, the outlay of this place simple and not fancy in the slightest. There is a kebab takeaway shop attached to it, so it easy not even think there is a restaurant here. But going through the kebab shop you can sit down and have access to some of the best Turkish food in Surry Hills. The food here is brilliant! Get the mixed grill - you won't regret it! The meat here is fantastic. But you can't go past their pide bread and all there amazing dips. Everything is a good portion, and you won't walk out hungry at all. If you come on a Saturday night, you can also experience some belly dancing and Turkish music - yes it is a bit cliched, but also a lot of fun. If you don't like audience participation, then maybe avoide this, but if you want to laugh and eat good food then come along.

Oh, and the Turkish bread. It's a very close tie. The dips are ridiculously good. You can just drop in and buy them by the container, which I've done on a number of occasions for house parties and BBQs. The hommus, babaganoush and beetroot are all fantastic. (Heavy on garlic, but damn delicious.) The Turkish bread is also cooked to perfection. You can take one away for a couple of bucks and they'll wrap it up in butcher's paper for you. Grab one of these (they're huge), plus a few small dips and you're set for a picnic in the park. If you're dining in, treat yourself to a bunch of yum vego sides like stuffed vine leaves and falafels. There's also a huge selection of pides. Seriously huge. The flat kusbasili with diced leg of lamb, onion, tomato, capsicum, parsley and spices is brilliant, as is the folded potato with onion, spinach and cheese. I'd also recommend trying a few bits and pieces from the grilled menu (the mince kofte are good) and of course a few traditional desserts. (Hey, you need to try them out, right?!) Go the bird's nest baklava or coconut semolina.
