Came here on Friday night with few friends. First this place has a patio (oh hello Brooklyn!) , has great cocktails and yummy small plates. In drinks we ordered few beers and moscow mule. For food got fried pickles, grilled cheese and pepperoncini bites. My favorite was pepperoncini, must order and ofcourse the bar is spacious (at least for now, while its new!) read more

My husband and I dropped by for a leisurely brunch. This was the first day they started their brunch service, and it was delicious. I had the avocado toast - very generous avocado mash, and the roasted peppers were a nice touch. Highly recommend. My husband had the veggie burger with salad, which he also enjoyed. Highly recommend. Wait staff is fantastic, and the owner is the best. A good way to support a local restaurant, social distance in the nice backyard courtyard and enjoy delicious food and drinks. read more

We came here for a 30th birthday and had the absolute best time!! All the waiters and waitresses could not have been kinder or more accommodating to our group. We tried almost all of the drinks and nothing disappointed us. The backyard was a bright, colorful space. We will definitely come back and could not recommend it higher. read more

I have been coming here over the years to support this neighborhood business. Unfortunately on Saturday I was seated outside near the owners. When my companion, who is Black, went inside to pay the bill, one of the owners started talking about Black people in a racist way, I confronted him, but it did not faze him at all. So the owners may seem friendly but be aware. read more

Staff was awesome, outdoor space was fun and grest for our large party. Good deals, food was tasty but small portions. I'd come back for a few beers and a snack for sure read more

I hardly ever write reviews but I most definitely read them and this time, There was just no way I could have continued without taking a moment to share my review on this little gem! Gowanis Gardens really impressed me in all aspects! First, the food, amazing small bites of a unique & delicious menu like the Pepperocini - a skewer of green peppers stuffed with goat cheese, wrapped in bacon, Never would I have ever thought this unique combination would be so tasteful!! The Pernil buns with shredded pork, Red onions and green sauce are to die for! The bar is fully stocked and they have their own specialty drinks, like a "Watermelonade" & a happy hour! The place is very neatly put together, You can tell the owners added personal touches throughout the space, like the artwork & stain glass & table tops, Each making a small tour of the place an entire conversation piece! The staff are all super friendly and helpful and the customers, some regulars, some walkins, all extremely pleasant & friendly! What sold me aside from the menu?? The BATHROOMS!!! Literally the most cleanest bathrooms you will find in all of Brooklyn!! We loved it so much that I've been here three times in one week, each time introducing a new friend to the place! They even had a live band and an outdoor patio with a screen TV. I highly recommend this place and would give it 10 stars if I could!! read more

Autumn tippler 2020 brought me here on October 10. It was a beautiful night. We arrived a lil after 10. It looked dead from the front of the restaurant but we were surprised that they had a backyard with patrons. It was nice to see people. We got the tippler drink the purple haze. It was not to my liking too much smoke taste for me. We ordered food as well: BBQ and Buffalo wings which had good flavor. We ordered fries as well but the server said "we are saving the fries for our burger meals" In all the days of my life I never heard such a thing. She should have just said we dont have any more fries. She offered us something else but I said no before she could say what the something was. We also ordered another drink the Pom Diggity which was very citrusy. I enjoy it better than the purple gaze. read more

Went here with a couple of friends for drinks and was really impressed. Definitely COViD conscious and safe, if you are hesitant like me. The drinks and specials were really good, and I was quite impressed with my inexpensive grilled cheese and tomato soup. I think what I liked best about the whole experience was the great service. The server that took care of us was a master of her craft. You could tell that most of the people there were regulars! Will be back read more

Not sure how a restaurant/bar can have all these fake reviews! Don't let the 5 stars fool you, take it from a real customer. (Based off food) read more

Cuban Chinese pork buns? Sushi made with Spam? "Tubo Libre" cocktail? Fried pickles? WTF? Fear not--Gowanus Gardens makes it all work. The philosophy of this place is "something for everyone" and based on an initial visit (they just very recently opened) this would seem to be the case. Too often bars place emphasis on one thing (draft beer, whiskey, etc.) at the expense of everything else. But the wine choices are carefully curated, the cocktails are tasty and the food is both unique and well executed. I had the "Fail We May, Sail We Must" cocktail, a sprightly citrus-y concoction, the "sushi" and a lovely Last of Summer salad with corn. Everything was fresh and well prepared. Very comfortable space, not too big or too small, though it's been crowded at peak times. We'll be back to sample the expanded menu once it's in place! read more

This place is amazing. The music was so good. I learned so much from the bartender Gary about the difference between reggae and ska. The beer selection is spot on. A great mix of IPA's Lagers and Stouts but the standout is the Guinness which is poured perfectly. I had the grilled cheese which was delectable. The backyard made me feel Covid Safe. The service was great. I can't say enough obviously. Five stars. read more

Good food and drinks. My party was pretty large for a small comfy place. It was for my wife's birthday celebration and might have been overwhelming for the one waiter they have for the outside. read more

Friendly, knowledgeable, fun bartenders. Friendly patrons. Fantastic spirit and beer options. Killer music bartender driven with crazy jukebox override selections. This place is great. The crowd is diverse and includes laid back older locals hanging out as well as the younger trendier crowd. Super friendly and hard-working staff. The buns are all the rage.
