This is a very nice Chinese restaurant in Brussels. They have their a la carte menu, which is extensive, and they have in season items in addition to the menu written on the back chalkboard - if you can read Chinese. The waitress (is she the owner too?) is very friendly and she explained the back chalkboard to my boyfriend and myself and recommended several dishes to us. Needless to say, we ate very well :) I am giving this restaurant 3-stars not because it is not good, but compared to other restaurants (of any and every cuisine), the technique of cooking, the decoration, the services etc. is good, but not exceptional. Should anyone ask me to recommend a Chinese restaurant in Brussels to them, I would gladly give them this address, but this is not an address for a fancy meal, it is your typical Chinese food. Perhaps I am wrong or it is not with every item on the menu, but I did find the dish portions are smaller compared to the other Chinese restaurants in the area, for example, Xu Ji across the street and Beijing Restaurant just one block away.

For example, we could take the mussels but with the black bean sauce instead of the spicy sauce (that combination was not as such listed in the menu). We were also proposed sautéed Chinese vegetables (Pak Choi) as we wanted to add some green to our meal. Bottom line the whole diner was authentic and really delicious. Warmly recommended!

When we arrived around 1:30pm on a weekday, we ordered the mussels in Garlic Sauce quickly per recommendation from tour guide. It came with Belgium fries. There was a good amount of mussels for 4 people. If you have 4 people, you'll need to order more dishes. Since we ordered first of our tour group and quick, the mussels arrived quickly. You choose the way in which you want the noodle cooked and the proteins and they bring the food over to you. The tables also have various condiments and spices should you want any additional flavouring. My faves here are the fried noodles with duck or crispy chicken, and the noodle soup with duck! I think the fried noodles are tastier but sometimes it's fun to switch it up. It can also be a bit carb-heavy seeing as there isn't a ton of plain protein dishes (such as roast duck on its own) or vegetable dishes. Additionally, it's a bit of a steep price for a bowl of noodles but it's fun to go every once in a while especially when cravings hit. We haven't had problems with getting seating since they have plenty of it upstairs, some downstairs, and outside (when the weather is nice). They also accept credit card!

That means that even though they have some rice dishes on the menu, you order noodles. We were looking for soup after having a lot of Belgian fries and Belgian food. Good thing we came here and took a chance on them. We were seated pretty quickly and someone took our order within 5minutes or so. Our noodles came about 5 minutes after that. All in all pretty fast and they seemed fairly busy with most tables outside taken, the downstairs dining room full and seemed like the upstairs dining room busy also. The noodles were freshly made and hand stretched. The soup for our noodles were very hot which is always a good thing and the portion size huge for the money. This was a solid bowl of noodles, better then a lot of places back home in the la area where there are probably over 100+ restaurants that make these same noodles. For being in brussles very good. Check this place out.

We initially wanted to eat at the place next door, but for whatever reason it was closed. As soon as we walked into the restaurant, we were greeted by a woman who I can only assume was the owner. She asked us how many people, I told her 2, she pointed at an open table and we sat down. After browsing through the menu for about 10 minutes, we were ready to order. It took her another 10 or so to stop at our table. The restaurant was busy, but not to the point where she didn't have a spare moment to stop at the Vietnamese and Chinese customers to talk with them...which she did. When I ordered, I pointed to what I wanted (#3 phô with beef balls and tenderloin), and as I flipped to the back where the drinks were located, she slapped my hand and scolded me in French, I'm assuming saying something along the lines of, "I couldn't read it. Wait!" She then flipped the menu back to the page where the phô was listed and wrote down my order. She asked if I wanted a small or big, I told her petite (small). After taking my friend' order, I also asked her for an orange juice, which she brought right away. Probably the only positive thing I can say about this entire experience. We waited patiently for our food, and I noticed that all the other customers who ordered phô had received a plate of fresh vegetables, which is customary, yet I hadn't received anything. When the food finally arrived, my friend politely asked her for more of the hoisin sauce because our bottle was practically empty. She scolded my friend and said that the sauce was only for phô dishes and she would bring more sauce once we used it all. So that's exactly what I did. No surprise she never returned with more sauce or a new bottle. We began eating and as I pulled the meat out of the bowl, I noticed a hair sandwiched between the layers of beef. I was already a few bites in but immediately spit out what was in my mouth and didn't touch the rest of the meal. My friend also commented that her food was mediocre as well. When she finally noticed that, although our bowls were quite full, but we weren't going to eat anymore, she finally brought the check. She had charged me for a large bowl of phô and not a small like I had ordered. At that point, we were just fed up with everything about the entire dining experience and paid exact change just so we could leave as soon as possible. I would NOT recommend his restaurant. I had some kind of rice dish with chicken in it and this tasted like it should have, but bland at the same time. (Yeah, I sometimes like bland food!) This was actually a Vietnamese dish, since the restaurant is both Vietnamese and Chinese. As a starter, we had a spring roll; a cold one, wrapped in something resembling cling film that you wrap your left-overs in. This was pretty tasty though. I should have gotten several of these. The worst thing was that the lady, probably one of the owners but also a waitress, was freakin' rude! I put soy sauce on my food and she yelled at me, telling me I'm not supposed to do that. I told her that when she buys me the dish, then I will eat it the way she wants me to. Also my friend's order was wrong. She's a vegetarian and the noodle dish the lady brought was beef. "Youordered that," she said. "You said number 35 (or whichever number)!" The lady was full of shit because the dish was ordered by its name and not a number. I was hungry and the food filled a hole but don't think I'll be going back there again. Its close to the Bourse and there are loads of Asian restaurants in that area, so there are better ones to choose from. If you're going to be rude to customers and you want them to come back, then your food better be outstanding!

We first tried to eat here on a Thursday evening, but when we arrived there was a 25-minute wait if you had not made a reservation. It was raining that day, so we opted to just find another place to eat. The following evening (Friday), we had a bit more time to prepare so we made a reservation with them at 6 p.m. The layout of the restaurant is somewhat unusual. You enter in a small space (which may have had a couple of tables at sidewalk-level, but I'm not sure). You then climb a half-flight of stairs up past a kitchen area to the main dining room. Here they had several tables along each wall extending towards the back, where they had an additional 2 - 3 tables. We sat in the back. If the weather is nice, they may have a couple of tables out on the sidewalk, but again I'm not certain of that. If anyone in your party is disabled, you may have a limited seating option. That wasn't an issue for us, though. Where we sat in the back, we got to watch them prepare the cocktails. The place was busy but our server kept checking on us. Our drinks came out fairly quickly. The entrees took a bit longer, but the timing was still reasonable. I got a noodle dish which was quite good. The portion was reasonable and I finished it. I think both the others in our party got soup-noodle combinations which they also liked. The place appeared to be a family-run business (potentially). The staff managed the crowd well. Though you need to plan ahead a bit, the meal here was worth it. If I were back in Brussels, I'd consider returning here for a meal.
