This restaurant is located 6 - 7 blocks from the Botanical Gardens subway / tram stops. The area immediately around it seemed to have a lot of restaurants. We first tried to eat here on a Thursday evening, but when we arrived there was a 25-minute wait if you had not made a reservation. It was raining that day, so we opted to just find another place to eat. The following evening (Friday), we had a bit more time to prepare so we made a reservation with them at 6 p.m.
The layout of the restaurant is somewhat unusual. You enter in a small space (which may have had a couple of tables at sidewalk-level, but I'm not sure). You then climb a half-flight of stairs up past a kitchen area to the main dining room. Here they had several tables along each wall extending towards the back, where they had an additional 2 - 3 tables. We sat in the back. If the weather is nice, they may have a couple of tables out on the sidewalk, but again I'm not certain of that. If anyone in your party is disabled, you may have a limited seating option. That wasn't an issue for us, though. Where we sat in the back, we got to watch them prepare the cocktails.
The place was busy but our server kept checking on us. Our drinks came out fairly quickly. The entrees took a bit longer, but the timing was still reasonable. I got a noodle dish which was quite good. The portion was reasonable and I finished it. I think both the others in our party got soup-noodle combinations which they also liked.
The place appeared to be a family-run business (potentially). The staff managed the crowd well. Though you need to plan ahead a bit, the meal here was worth it. If I were back in Brussels, I'd consider returning here for a meal. read more
