Lovely place with really good food and not too expensive. Good vegetarian options! Great location as well for exploring the center of Brussels.

We were out walking around Brussels one night and decided to try this spot. The food was very good and freshly prepared. I had the Thai basil fried rice with chicken. The portion was pretty large. Server was very good and he was patient when we asked questions. My husband tried some different beers out and I had wine. I'd recommend. Nothing super special about the interior but music was good - I'd say it's worth a visit.

I was skeptical at first as this restaurant is in the heart of the tourist area, but was pleasantly surprised. My table got the Laksa Soup and Pad Suki and the Pad Suki was the favorite. It had great spice and flavor. The ambiance is pretty casual and they have both indoor and outdoor seating. Service was also good with bilingual workers. While they do take your order from your table and bring your food out to you, you have to pay up front at the register. They are a good option for Asian food if you are in the touristy area!

Laksa with tofu (vegan)

Great spot with all sorts of different Asian noodle soups and extremely vegan-friendly -- not particularly authentic, but also not terribly far off. My wife & I stopped in for dinner on a Tuesday around 7pm, and the place was about half full. I got the Laksa with tofu (default vegan) and my wife got the Tom Yum noodle soup with tofu (default vegan) -- €14.50 each. Because we were famished, we also got a Thai Red Curry (Fried) Rice with tofu (€14.50; made vegan by omitting the egg). I was really happy with my laksa. While not exactly authentic, the broth was nicely spiced, rich and balanced, coming with tons of vegetables, plenty of fried tofu, and nicely cooked thin rice noodles. The taste I had of the tom yum noodle soup was also impressive -- tangy, deeply spiced/flavoured and satisfying. The fried rice was really delicious too: not too oily, nicely flavoured, and texturally interesting. All in all, a great spot for a (vegan) Asian noodle soup and more.

Context: I'm vegetarian yes. yes. yes. You're thinking, "I'm in Belgium should I be getting noodles", the answer is yes. Especially if it's cold outside- please allow yourself to experience the flavors from this place. I had tom yum soup, it was a little on the spicier side but if you can handle your heat I suggest it. Then returned to this place again and got pad see ew 1000/10. Great beginner dish, great for anyone, so flavorful... get it. I wish I had more time to try everything on the menu honestly. (Plus staff is very nice ) Enjoy

Cannot lie that this is some of the best pho we've ever had in our life. Just all the dishes have so much flavor and are so different. We literally ate here 3 times while staying in Brussels. Also they're open later than other places in the area so that's a bonus when coming back from doing touristy things. Server is friendly and pleasant but could be more attentive. Wish we had one of these by us!

Thai basil fried rice

Great spot. Food isn't really that authentic but flavor and spice is good if you're looking to switch it up. Ordered the spicy Thai basil fried rice with chicken and red curry noodles with shrimp and both were good. The rice had a pretty decent kick to it.

The best Asian cuisine I ever had and I live in California. I never thought I would find the best Asian food in the world in Brussels, Belgium. My husband and I went there twice in the same day because it was soo delicious . I love the fact the kitchen is in the front of the restaurant. They're very clean, friendly and efficient. We will be back

This was pretty darn yummy to be in the midst of beer, chocolate and waffles! Let me start this review by saying please don't dare look for "The Noodle Bar" on google maps as it will have you looking crazy in below freezing weather like bae and I. If you are utilizing google maps, make sure you type in "The Noodle Bar Brussels" and you will get the correct location. Per the usual, when I travel, I go to Yelp to help find noshes and other things. You all have not failed me yet. After a long day of sightseeing, bae and I set out to find this place. It is nestled on a street right behind the Grand Place. It is a hole in the wall spot, but the food was great. We ordered Pork dumplings for dim sum, and Chicken Pad Thai and Beef Volcano dish. Bae did have to send his back to have them spice it up some more, but once they did, it was on point. My pad thai was very spicy! The food came out quickly and was fresh and hot. I am now very full and happy (and warm lol) We will be back.

You choose the way in which you want the noodle cooked and the proteins and they bring the food over to you. The tables also have various condiments and spices should you want any additional flavouring. My faves here are the fried noodles with duck or crispy chicken, and the noodle soup with duck! I think the fried noodles are tastier but sometimes it's fun to switch it up. It can also be a bit carb-heavy seeing as there isn't a ton of plain protein dishes (such as roast duck on its own) or vegetable dishes. Additionally, it's a bit of a steep price for a bowl of noodles but it's fun to go every once in a while especially when cravings hit. We haven't had problems with getting seating since they have plenty of it upstairs, some downstairs, and outside (when the weather is nice). They also accept credit card!

That means that even though they have some rice dishes on the menu, you order noodles. We were looking for soup after having a lot of Belgian fries and Belgian food. Good thing we came here and took a chance on them. We were seated pretty quickly and someone took our order within 5minutes or so. Our noodles came about 5 minutes after that. All in all pretty fast and they seemed fairly busy with most tables outside taken, the downstairs dining room full and seemed like the upstairs dining room busy also. The noodles were freshly made and hand stretched. The soup for our noodles were very hot which is always a good thing and the portion size huge for the money. This was a solid bowl of noodles, better then a lot of places back home in the la area where there are probably over 100+ restaurants that make these same noodles. For being in brussles very good. Check this place out.

When we got to the restaurant, we were seated outside promptly. Our waiter was really nice and explained the menu to us. I don't usually like salads, but I felt like I needed some greens after eating heavy Belgian food. We decided to go with the mixed salad with ham, and I'm so glad we did! This salad deserves 5 stars honestly. The dressing was amazing, and the ham added a nice salty touch. For pastas, we got the spaghetti with spicy Calabrian sausage and burrata and the ravioli with osso buco. The pastas were definitely cooked al dente - I preferred the spaghetti. The ravioli had good flavor, but it was sitting in so much oil that I couldn't eat too many. It was a solid meal overall, but I didn't think the pastas were anything life-changing. Great place if you're craving some Italian food though!

We first tried to eat here on a Thursday evening, but when we arrived there was a 25-minute wait if you had not made a reservation. It was raining that day, so we opted to just find another place to eat. The following evening (Friday), we had a bit more time to prepare so we made a reservation with them at 6 p.m. The layout of the restaurant is somewhat unusual. You enter in a small space (which may have had a couple of tables at sidewalk-level, but I'm not sure). You then climb a half-flight of stairs up past a kitchen area to the main dining room. Here they had several tables along each wall extending towards the back, where they had an additional 2 - 3 tables. We sat in the back. If the weather is nice, they may have a couple of tables out on the sidewalk, but again I'm not certain of that. If anyone in your party is disabled, you may have a limited seating option. That wasn't an issue for us, though. Where we sat in the back, we got to watch them prepare the cocktails. The place was busy but our server kept checking on us. Our drinks came out fairly quickly. The entrees took a bit longer, but the timing was still reasonable. I got a noodle dish which was quite good. The portion was reasonable and I finished it. I think both the others in our party got soup-noodle combinations which they also liked. The place appeared to be a family-run business (potentially). The staff managed the crowd well. Though you need to plan ahead a bit, the meal here was worth it. If I were back in Brussels, I'd consider returning here for a meal.

A disclaimer: I realize that I'm probably spoiled by the mass of ramen joints that are in the Bay Area. As a result, I judge ramen places pretty highly. The 3-star rating is not to say that the ramen was terrible, but it is certainly not ranked among the best. Tonkotsu Ramen. Usually when I think of tonkotsu, I think of a rich and flavorful broth, as tonkotsu is traditionally stewed from pork bones for hours and hours. This broth fell a bit short of flavorful. The noodles, pork, and toppings were delicious (I always appreciate a perfectly soft boiled egg), but the broth is really what makes or breaks a ramen to me. Kara Miso Ramen. For those who like a bit of spice with their ramen. Or maybe not a bit of spice? I'm usually a super wimp when it comes to spice, and the slightest hint will have me reaching for a glass of water to rinse it all out. This one didn't do too much for me. I felt a little bit of heat lingering on my tongue afterwards, but I was expecting a bigger kick. The meat on this bowl was also a little dried out. I can definitely see why this place would do well in this neighborhood; it fulfills a need that is missing, which is exactly why we ventured into Umamido. Great for an area that is slim on authentic ramen choices; not so great for someone who comes from an area that is saturated with ramen.
