It appears to be a husband and wife owned business - hubby runs the front and wifey runs the kitchen. Small place. Be patient everything is scratch made, I believe by 1 person. A little ol lady. They also don't take plastic. But considering all we ordered, very reasonable price. I'm always eager to try Asian food in Europe especially when I can find the good stuff here in various parts of the States like in Southern California. Nevertheless, some of these photos of their grilled clams looked AMAZING so we figured we would definitely hit up Thiên Long and see how their Viet fare stacks against the likes of Orange County. I know, I know- it's gonna be a tough, but does it deliver? First off, the restaurant is small so be sure to get there early when it first opens. Otherwise you may end up waiting a bit for a table. My friend and I had to ask other patrons to get up so we could leave after we were done lol. Immediately when you walk in, you can smell the aromatic flavors of the ingredients they use in their cooking. Looks like it's gonna be great. Their grilled clams were fantastic. We devoured these in an instant it felt. You really can't go wrong for an appetizer and honestly, we could have gone with another round of these as well. Unfortunately, their pho was pretty bland compared to what I've had in other parts of the world. Still a decent bowl of piping noodles but it lacked the kick that I seek to find in these noodles. If it was just for the pho, I'd give 3-stars, but those clams were amazing and I'm sure their other Vietnamese dishes are likely just as good. I'd come back to sample more of their entrees. We were craving asian food and couldn't wait to eat here aftet seeing the reviews. We tried the clams and the pho. The clams were a bit too chewy and the sauce wasn't very impressive. The pho was good, but the noodles was a bit chewier than usual and felt like potato noodles more than rice noodles. The wait time was really long. Usually pho doesn't take much time to serve because the broth is usually pre-made. It probably took 20-25 minutes before they were done. As for the service, the man was nice and friendly. We didn't think our chances of finding a good Vietnamese restaurant or really any Asian restaurant would be that great here in Brussels,Belgium...considering it's famous for its chocolate and waffles not for Pho. But we were lucky to find this small gem in the wall of a Vietnamese restaurant after a busy day of sight seeing. The owner(s) was a sweet Vietnamese woman who welcomed us warmly and she was so sweet and humble when we asked what was her specialty. When she found out we were visiting from California, USA which is obviously known for having many Vietnamese restaurants so she didn't want us to be disappointed, but omg...all the dishes she recommended, from the Pho, Bun bo Hue (the BEST I've had in awhile) egg rolls and Bun with lemon grass beef and egg rolls and Mi Wonton shrimps,was delicious! Came out piping hot and very flavorful!! She was also very sweet and asked if we wanted to try some of the fresh soy milk she just made...Wow...Soooo good!! Taste just like how my mom used to make!! (Now THAT's Saying a lot!!) She even tried to give it to us on the house a long with the eggs rolls bc my dad said he wasn't sure if he would like it and she made us a plate to try first bf ordering but it was delicious!! Went here because of the high rating but were really disappointed. The owner came out to greet us and was friendly. We were excited to try this place. I got Com Thit Nuong (a rice and pork plate) and my wife got Bun Bo Hue (spicy noodle soup). Although the food tasted just OK, neither of our dishes tasted like what would be expected. We eat tons of Vietnamese food in California and Oregon, so we have an expectation of what these dishes should taste like. But the main reason I am giving this place one star - we had to wait for 45 minutes for our food after ordering. And there was only one other couple in the restaurant. This time we ordered caramel pork and Bun. Bun is one of my favorite vietnamese dish. Sweet and sour vietnamese dipping sauce, really fresh taste with a lot vegetables, and roasted peanuts on top.Taste and healthy. It is also really a large portion. What's more comforting than a bowl of pho? Overall very good. The broth was tasty. They do not use the typical rice noodles... the texture seems to be more of potato noodles. The clams were okay. The sauce they use is very strong in fish sauce, so if you don't like that, avoid! However, when you mix it with the lemon-pepper sauce they give you on the side, it makes the fish sauce taste less strong. read more

Probably not a place for tourists. The menu is only in french, no pictures and restaurant is cash only. Thank you to the previous reviewers who posted pictures, that's how we ordered. We had a nooddle soup dish that my husband only drank the soup. The noodles were undercooked and meat poor quality. I had a beef dish, meat also chewy but the dish had good flavor. The rice was microwaved oh and I found a hair in my food. So maybe a place for locals who don't get a lot of Vietnamese fare in this part of the world but I would not recommend. The two ladies running the restaurant are super nice and helpful so if you want to visit this establishment to support them, I get it. Has been the cheapest meal we've had yet, and possibly the nicest, although my large portion of prawn, squid and pork broth contained only one prawn. This place is absolutely excellent. When you're tired of all the fried food you can stuff into you, you should retreat here for a delicious, wholesome soup. Both the pork wanton and beef pho were quite delicious. I also highly recommend the grilled clams, served with a sweet lime sauce, as many other yelpers have recommended as well. This was my first viet restaurant experience in Belgium. I'm truly disappointed with the food, price and ambiance. The place is very small with about 5 tables with 1 person service. We ordered pho, noodles and it took more than 30 mins for the food to arrive. The taste was mediocre at best or somewhat subpar to other Vietnamese restaurants. My review is based on the pho, and pho alone. Like many Asian reviewers before me, I hit the wall of moules frites and could not fathom another mollusk, no matter how tasty they are. Having spent three days into a four day trip in Brussels eating the usual mussels, pomme frites and waffles, I was getting severe cravings for some home cooked Vietnamese food. I'm very meticulous about where I choose to eat Vietnamese cuisine because invariably there are places that put so much MSG in the dishes the nutritional value are nullified. This place hit the spot perfectly. The steaming generously sized soup noodle dish I ordered was fragrant and filling, whilst my sister's red duck curry with rice, although not typically Vietnamese, offered a good amount of heat with succulent soft duck really uplifting on a rainy day. The menu is extensive with main courses ranging from about 7-13 euros. Although a small restaurant, it was definitely cosy, and the mature older waiter was friendly and most helpful when I asked questions about the food. This place comes highly recommended. read more

The rice plate was definitely a hit. The suon and bi were beautifully seasoned. The wonton soup was very flavorful and came with banh phong tom (shrimp crackers) to put in it. Got into Brussels tonight, and was feeling a little under the weather so I convinced my group to go with me to get pho! Currently, I'm 20+ days in my month long vacation of Europe, and have had some Asian food that's been a miss. Luckily that was not the case here! The three of us arrived right at opening (being typical tourists who are early eaters) and all ordered the pho. As other reviews have noted, it did not disappoint. The meat to noodles ratio was perfect (although if you come from the states, you might think there's almost too much meat!) and the broth was very tasty. It was also the first of the three Vietnamese restaurants I've gone to in Europe that brought me bean sprouts and greens to put in my pho. The place is cash only, but prices are reasonable with the big pho costing 10.50€ each. Glad to find a nice pho place in the center or Brussels-- if you're feeling a Vietnamese craving, I would definitely recommend! 5 stars for the food given pricing and beating expectations for Brussels Vietnamese cuisine. read more

Really a shame. This place was awesome before, but there has been a change in owners in the last 2 months or so. The food is substandard, the clams that everyone loves so much were really overcooked and smelled very very old.
