Their rabbit stew was also very delicious and it paired so well with their fries. I'm usually not a big fan of fries, but I could not stop eating them. Service: We didn't have a reservation, but they were able to quickly accommodate us as we got there a bit before rush hour. However, I would definitely recommend making a reservation as it gets pretty busy, especially with locals. All the staff were very nice and attentive as well! Ambiance: They have several levels to accommodate more people. They have their main bar on the first floor, but you do have to hike up a bit of stairs to get to the restroom as there's a flight of narrow stairs, so be careful. I really enjoyed dining here as it felt like a very local spot. This restaurant was definitely the highlight of our trip to Brussels!

The mussels are fresh and flavorful, and you can't help but slurp, I mean scoop up, some of the cream and garlic sauce in between each mussel. The other items are not bad, but nothing to write home about: Flemish beef stew, meatballs in tomato sauce, or even mussels with plain white wine (1 star off). Overall, Le Bistro is a good...bistro...option for some local foods.

Went there on a recommendation from our taxi driver in Paris during our ride to Gare du Nord…read morestation. He had highly recommended it and we were not disappointed! We arrived early and were the first customers. We selected our seafood from a wide variety of different species of fish and crustaceans. We selected the sole, sardines, calamari, large tiger prawns, whole anchovies, dorade and a single portion of paella. We also ordered a side of salad, coleslaw, green beans. The seafood was ordered as grilled, except for the anchovies (fried). We were served by a friendly staff that were accommodating and pleasant. When our selections were ready, we were served a beautiful presentation of our seafood, along with some bread and our sides. So delicious and fresh! Everything was cooked to perfection! Needless to say, we were so impressed with the taste and quality of everything! We would highly recommend this place!

As simple as that. The deal is pretty good too. You pay 22€ per kilo, which is a very good deal, or 35€ per kilo for things labeled as "royal" like king prawns, tuna fillet, langoustine etc... I know this kind of places are common in Southern Europe but I had no idea you could find one in Brussels. The place is not fancy at all. I wouldn't recommend it for a date or your annyversary dinner, but if you feel like a god night out with your buddies (who enjoy eating) that's a great place. The reasons why it doesn't get five stars are that 1) the service was a bit sloppy. We had to re-order drinks and side dishes more than once. 2) They need to upgrade their salad choice. Boiled carrots, cucumbers and peppers aren't enough to accompany such a great variety of fish.

We skipped it since we wanted to save our full paella experience for Barcelona. I ordered the seafood spaghetti and my husband fell in love with it lol. There's something special about the sauce, so rich and flavorful. It was so good that we had to come back again before leaving the city. We also had the mussels, of course. You can't come to Brussels and not do "mussels in Brussels." The white wine sauce was amazing, and the frites that came with it were hot, fresh, and perfect for dipping. Portions are generous and everything is great for sharing. We also loved the fresh rolls they bring out at the start. The service is great! The ambiance is cozy and relaxed, perfect for a casual dinner or a special night out. I honestly can't say enough good things about this place. If I'm ever back in Brussels, I'll definitely be coming back. Highly recommend!

Outdoor seating was the most popular but we dined inside out of the heat. Fans helped a bit but more would be better. Our server highlighted the lobster and sharing dishes but we ended up just getting paella and grilled fish. I was quite happy with the sea bream which was a substantial portion for the price. It was cooked nicely and very meaty with a mild flavor. The accompanying sides were not an afterthought since vegetables were tender, seasoned and the fried potato cylinders added a little texture. The paella was also a decent choice with lots of seafood variety but if the rice was wetter than expected and missing the browned crunchy aspect. The entrees were quite filling and we didn't have enough space for dessert. Service was as expected. One item to point out, we caught whiffs of cigarette smoke from the diners outside (via open front windows) which was a bit annoying.
