Last night's dinner was packed, with all the outdoor tables full. Luckily, we were able to get a table inside. We noticed many guests ordering the paella, so we decided to try the seafood paella along with six oysters, escargot, and a salad. The ambiance was warm and inviting, and the customer service was excellent. Overall, all the seafood tasted fresh and flavorful. However, the seafood in the paella was slightly overcooked, which caused it to lose some of its natural juiciness and affected the texture. I booked our table a couple weeks in advance and based on how quickly the restaurant filled up that evening I'm glad we did. Outdoor seating was the most popular but we dined inside out of the heat. Fans helped a bit but more would be better. Our server highlighted the lobster and sharing dishes but we ended up just getting paella and grilled fish. I was quite happy with the sea bream which was a substantial portion for the price. It was cooked nicely and very meaty with a mild flavor. The accompanying sides were not an afterthought since vegetables were tender, seasoned and the fried potato cylinders added a little texture. The paella was also a decent choice with lots of seafood variety but if the rice was wetter than expected and missing the browned crunchy aspect. The entrees were quite filling and we didn't have enough space for dessert. Service was as expected. One item to point out, we caught whiffs of cigarette smoke from the diners outside (via open front windows) which was a bit annoying. read more

We stopped by The Lobster House for dinner while on our honeymoon in Brussels, and wow... such a great choice. They're famous for their seafood paella with lobster, which is a must-try here. We skipped it since we wanted to save our full paella experience for Barcelona. I ordered the seafood spaghetti and my husband fell in love with it lol. There's something special about the sauce, so rich and flavorful. It was so good that we had to come back again before leaving the city. We also had the mussels, of course. You can't come to Brussels and not do "mussels in Brussels." The white wine sauce was amazing, and the frites that came with it were hot, fresh, and perfect for dipping. Portions are generous and everything is great for sharing. We also loved the fresh rolls they bring out at the start. The service is great! The ambiance is cozy and relaxed, perfect for a casual dinner or a special night out. I honestly can't say enough good things about this place. I was craving something healthy and delicious like salmon, so we went to Lobster House, and I am so glad we did. We received not only very good service, but a very delicious meal, cooked to perfection. The Reguta Prosecco Brut was just right too. I didn't think I had room for dessert, but when I saw my favorite French pastry, citron tarte on the menu, well, I ate all of that and the accompanying limone gelato. I left Lobster House very satisfied with my meal, and with thoughts to return before we leave to our next destination. I asked the man sitting at the back of the restaurant if he was the big boss, and he said, "No, I'm just a big buy, but my wife is the big boss." I requested that he tell her that everything was outstanding! I highly recommend Lobster House. PS: the caprese salad and the seafood spaghetti looked quite delicious too! read more

A must-visit for seafood lovers in Brussels! It gets incredibly busy, so I highly recommend making a reservation in advance (it's very easy to do online). While the seating is a little cramped, it has a warm, cozy atmosphere that adds to the charm. The staff was fantastic--very friendly and accommodating from start to finish. It was a warm summer day and no AC, but I think that's the case for most of Belgium. Overall, food was mid -- nothing stood out or tasted particularly delicious that I'd want to come back. And since it's seafood, it's a bit pricey as well. People rave about the mussels, and I can admit they were decent. The restaurant itself is very quiet, so it's a great place to have nice intimate conversations. Service was relatively quick. On top of this, we enjoyed our mussels. Only had time for one dinner in Brussels, we had to make it count! Picked The Lobster House after doing some research. Good thing we called in a reservation, because they were super full when we got there! Had escargot and Italian green and red salad for appetizers. Escargot was pretty conventional and the salad was...well, basic salad. Had the sea bass and Spanish paella with fresh 1/2 lobster as entrées. Sea bass was good, albeit a bit small for how much we were paying for it. The Spanish paella though was worth the price of admission! They did not hold back on the seafood for this at all. By far the best dish they had there. Service was good. They were pretty friendly here. Even held our table even though we were pretty late. Only regret is that we didn't get another opportunity to come back since our waiter insisted that we come back. But I would love to come back again if I come back to Brussels. read more

My first trip to Brussels, Lobster House was close to my hotel and had good reviews so decided to give it a try. Locationwise super convenient and located in old town by the Royal Gallery of St Hubert. There is both indoor and outdoor seating, but be warned when you sit outside people sitting next to you may sample. That aside the staff there was really friendly. I tried the half lobster, because how can I not? The flavors were great, but the lobster isn't a large portion. Good thing the sides were there. The decor makes it feel like you're in a somewhat fancy spot, but the prices of the dishes were pretty fair compared to the other nearby restaurants offering the same items. I brought some friends here for dinner since they were visiting Brussels, but I recall being a bit disappointed by the service. Although friendly, the waiter (or manager?) seemed slightly pushy. Ate here twice during our week in Brussels. The two occasions were totally different. The first visit was outstanding and the second visit just average. Therefore a total rating of 4. Our first visit we shared both meals as we do most meals. We had the half grilled lobster served with rice and grilled peppers and the Saint Jacques Meunière (scallops in butter sauce). Everything was perfect. The lobster was very fresh and the presentation was great. There were even two small shrimp served next to the half lobster. The sides were tasty as well. The Saint Jacques was the show stopper. It was outstanding. There were about 5 huge scallops and additional 3 prawns that had been sautéed in a to die for butter sauce. I kept dipping my lobster meat and my shrimp in that succulent sauce. Perfect everything. The second visit was just not quite the same. I think they had more outside diners that were ordering lots of big lobster plates that had their total attention. That was ok. We ordered the once again Saint Jacques but then changed the second dish to be that of a big pot of mussels...Mussels Maison - Of the House(specialty). The Saint Jacques did not have that indepth butter sauce that it did earlier. It actually had almost no Butter Sauce. Seemed to be maybe rushed. The scallops were still very good but the shrimp not so much. A bit overcooked. The mussels were served and they were beautiful. A huge pot and very full. The problem with the mussels were two fold. The sauce did not have much taste and there was not much of it. I had to add salt to bring out any taste in the dish...and a lot of it. Service was great. Prices very reasonable. Would probably return. Recommend that you try it. read more

I stopped by Lobster House in Brussels for dinner recently. In terms of food, I had their Mussels with White Wine (Moules-frites). The mussels were really fresh and the wine amazingly complemented the mussels. Overall, it was a solid dish and I'd go back given the opportunity. I have done quit a bit of research on restaurants in Brussel prior deciding to dine her. We stopped by the restaurant on 7/26 which was the last day at Brussel. We had high expectation of the quality of food as lots of good reviews from tripadvisor or yelp. Since we had a big party, we walked in to check if they could accommodate our party. The guy who greeted us didn't look very pleasant when we are checking. Then he seated us outside of the restaurant by combining few tables together which was absolutely fine. During the order, we paused and were thinking/debating what else to get, he started saying.....I had to put all small tables for your party and you should order each person an entree such that it could compensate the number of tables he gave up for us. We were surprised of his attitude as we had never experience this type of service. And the most importantly, we hadn't yet done ordering. At last he walked away without further complaint and he felt we ordered enough food as per his expectation. Both him and the server's service was terrible and the food wasn't as good as what review said. We had similar type of food the night before at another restaurant that opened for long time.
