Beautiful ceilings and Art Deco stained window
    Kanchan B.

So met up with desperately hungry US visiting folks who were staying at the Hilton and at 9:45pm, this was one of the only restaurants we could see open in the area. Walking in, there's a huge fire pit, and there were a fair few empty tables, so we got shown to one by the window. The menu is fairly garden variety mix of salads, steak, burgers, etc. and accordingly one diner got the green salad (after being informed by our wonderfully honest and funny server that her first choice, the soup of the day, was that great) and frites, and the other diner got a hamburger (and again, it was super cool that our server checked how he wanted the burger cooked) and then for dessert we got a waffle with whipped cream + strawberries, and all that plus drinks came to a total of around €50. So while the folks enjoyed their two main dishes, frankly the frites and the waffle were a disappointment. The frites tasted super oily and stale and even dunking them in ketchup didn't help with the taste. The waffle tasted watered-down, like cheap ingredients were used in the making of it, and the topping left a strange synthetic taste in the mouth. So while everything else was fine, I would def be wary of the frites, and frankly avoid ordering the waffle all together. A shout out to our service however, as the waiter was super helpful and kind and had a great sense of humour.

I agree with the other rated 3 stars. It's just okay. For the price of our meal I was hoping for a better meal. Had a okay margarita though.

We had the salmon and grilled chicken. Really wonderful and cooked to perfection. Food was hot and served quickly.

To start, it comes with a rack of ribs, salad, and a jacket potato (baked potato) with a curry butter sauce. Honestly, my mouth is drooling just thinking about it. STUNNING combination, truly. The ribs are sauced well without too much additional sauce on it and they have cans for you to put the rib bones in after, and they come around with more ribs on silver platters should you decide to continue eating! You can also ask for more of the sides or the curry butter if your potato's run out of it. It's a fun place to go with a big group or anyone who enjoys all you can eat or ribs or just meat in general. They have plenty of seating and interesting decor. They also accept card!

He and the female manager were not replying to people requests. Even we tried to joke with another waiter serving our table, and he took the joke very bad, and start insulting our friend that she is drunk, not true, she did not drink, and she was just happy to see us and spend fun time together. The food was nice, clean tables, but filthy WC.

He reminded us of a combination of Neil Fak (from The Bear) and Lazlow (from What We Do in the Shadows). He was coordinating the line, seating, and gave outstanding recommendations, as well as praise, when we picked our wine. We were quoted about 45 minutes to wait, as they don't take reservations. A two-top opened up inside and Julian was concerned that it would be too hot, so he made me go inside to check first. Thankfully, it was right by the open area leading to outside, so we took it and were seated in about 20 minutes, rather than 45. The place was packed the entire time we were there; its reputation certainly precedes it. Good energy and beautifully decorated with stunning art inside. Carbonades a la Biere (beef stew; 19.45 Euros) is their speciality and was delicious! So reasonably priced for the flavor and te size of the dish! After Julian mentioned that the lamb is the best dish on the menu, there was no question that I was ordering it. Jarret d'Agneau Roti (Roasted Lamb Shank; 27.35 Euros) was so very good! Full of Rosemary and so tender! As Julian was running by, I quickly asked him: "Tiramisu or Tarte Tatin?" No hesitation, he replied, "Tarte Tatin." I wasn't sure if he actually put the order in for us or not, but then it arrived at our table and it was delicious! Pear Tarte (8.65 Euros) with a side of ice cream. Not too sweet, with lovely spices in the pears. Cash only, always a line, but totally worth it!

Tender meat bursting with flavor with some mashed potatoes to soak up the sauce. I enjoyed the lamb as well, however a bit too much rosemary for me. Get the pear dessert. The soft and sweet pear coupled with the ice cream was one of the best desserts I've had in some time.

I just didn't enjoy anything that we ordered. Sadly, it was my least favorite meal that we had in Belgium. Based on all the reviews, I think it's clear that it's not the place per se, but what I was looking for. That being said, I still must be honest. What we ordered: Cheddar Croquettes (2 for 14 Euros): Just ok and this was one of the things that I felt was overpriced Carpaccio of Smoked Beef with White Truffle Oil (18 Euros): Again, just ok Meatloaf with "Jack Pepper" sauce (26 Euros): "Jack Pepper" means something different in Brussels. It was basically a peppercorn gravy. I wasn't a fan, but Jim G. enjoyed it. With this, we had frites and a small side salad. I know many people recommend that Flemish Beef Stew, but we already had that at Fin de Siecle, and I couldn't imagine that any place would top it, so we didn't get it here. Ultimately, this place isn't for me, but I seem to be in the minority.
