The first review for Beijingya on Yelp! I hope it'll be useful, :) After a long hesitation to go between Beijingya or Hong Kong Delight, both recommended by a friend as being the most authentic Chinese restaurants in Brussels, I decided to go with Beijingya during lunch time, as it has no reviews yet. The restaurant itself does not look fancy, but more local with roasted ducks hanging at the window, which already gives a feeling of authentic cuisine. The menu hanging outside was also promising, as it showed some dishes that you would not find in other (more Europeanised) restaurants. The restaurant is rather small, but has quite many tables and was pretty crowded. Chopsticks, spoons in a recipient and extra sauces on the table, I like that. Very local. Reminds me of the "Chinatowns" in the US.I chose to have the Shanghai pork dumplings, as appetizer, and the earthen pot (claypot) of pork with Chinese taro. The dumplings were good, tasted as they should taste, so no complaints. The pork and Chinese taro was delicious. Very fatty though, but completely normal if you are ordering pork belly. The pork was cooked to a point that it was to soft that it melted in my mouth. That's a very good point. The floury taste of the taro might not encounter a success to everyone. However, I like it, as it gives a different kick to the dish. My friend ordered the €17 4-course menu (soup, appetizer, main dish + dessert). It looks like a good deal, but the dishes they offer do not appeal to me. They definitely look less authentic, let's put it that way. For those on a budget, they also offer a €8,5 lunch which includes appetizer and main dish. So, the restaurant is not fully authentic as I would want it to be. However, it does offer an extensive choice of more unusual dishes that I would definitely like to try out in the future. The price is very reasonable too. Hence, I am very happy to have discovered this restaurant offering some tasty authentic Chinese cuisine. Therefore, for me, it deserves a 4-star.

One of the best Chinese restaurants in town. Choose between classic Chinese dishes or more "experimental" ones for the Western consumer such as chicken paws, duck tongues or intestines cooked any which way. You're here right now? Try something you wouldn't normally ;) you won't regret it! Also this restaurant should be seen as a "tapas" restaurant: it is common in china to share all the dishes, so choose a couple, place them in the middle of the table and enjoy one of the best and most social meals you have in ages ;)

One of my fav place to eat Real Chinese food in Brussels. Price is slightly above the others in the neighbourhood (not that much I'd say) but totally worth it. Often go there with my family, the service is good and quick. We like to order plenty of Dim Sum (which are OK) and the fried tofu (which is their specialties and I would recommend anyone to swing by this place only for that dish) as entries. For the main dishes, I've got to try many of them and they were all good especially the chinese duck, fried squids and hainan chicken.

Food is okay, some dishes are really great like the tofu with thousand years eggs as a starter, others are rather mediocre and not well seasoned. But you get some quite original dishes here, for a good price.

When we arrived around 1:30pm on a weekday, we ordered the mussels in Garlic Sauce quickly per recommendation from tour guide. It came with Belgium fries. There was a good amount of mussels for 4 people. If you have 4 people, you'll need to order more dishes. Since we ordered first of our tour group and quick, the mussels arrived quickly. Water isn't free. I ordered the Stella beer. Ordered the seafood rice dish. It's big and worth it. It comes with clam, mussels, squid, shrimp, and yellow rice. I love seafood and I enjoyed this dish. We showed up at 7:30 to see if they would be able to seat us and they did. I initially found this place on Google because we needed some Chinese food and this place had good reviews/was close by our hotel. I'm not sure if the food was worth the 40 minute wait, but it satisfied the craving. We had the steamed pork dumpling. This was pretty meh - you could get similar quality in the freezer section. We then had the black pepper chicken. I was thankful for the huge portion but it was pretty salty. It definitely needed more than the bowl of rice it came with. Finally, the best dish of the night was beef chow fun. I didn't have high expectations for this one but it tasted pretty close to the ones at home in NYC, with plenty of wok hei. I'd definitely recommend this dish and if I were a betting woman, I would guess that their other noodle dishes might be pretty good too, so maybe just stick to those.

I intend to return often to sample many other dishes on the menu. Service was very friendly with a smile and good humour. We ordered more than we could eat and took food home. As leftovers at home, it tasted better than any take-out Asian food we have ever gotten. A true testimonial to the talented chefs! The restaurant is not large with seating for about 35. Indeed, the hostess/waitress had to turn away many clients during our dinner. Many Asian people at other tables along with a few tourists or local Europeans. I highly recommend this restaurant over any other Asian restaurant in the area. Location is near the bourse behind the Marriott hotel.

You choose the way in which you want the noodle cooked and the proteins and they bring the food over to you. The tables also have various condiments and spices should you want any additional flavouring. My faves here are the fried noodles with duck or crispy chicken, and the noodle soup with duck! I think the fried noodles are tastier but sometimes it's fun to switch it up. It can also be a bit carb-heavy seeing as there isn't a ton of plain protein dishes (such as roast duck on its own) or vegetable dishes. Additionally, it's a bit of a steep price for a bowl of noodles but it's fun to go every once in a while especially when cravings hit. We haven't had problems with getting seating since they have plenty of it upstairs, some downstairs, and outside (when the weather is nice). They also accept credit card!

That means that even though they have some rice dishes on the menu, you order noodles. We were looking for soup after having a lot of Belgian fries and Belgian food. Good thing we came here and took a chance on them. We were seated pretty quickly and someone took our order within 5minutes or so. Our noodles came about 5 minutes after that. All in all pretty fast and they seemed fairly busy with most tables outside taken, the downstairs dining room full and seemed like the upstairs dining room busy also. The noodles were freshly made and hand stretched. The soup for our noodles were very hot which is always a good thing and the portion size huge for the money. This was a solid bowl of noodles, better then a lot of places back home in the la area where there are probably over 100+ restaurants that make these same noodles. For being in brussles very good. Check this place out.

We initially wanted to eat at the place next door, but for whatever reason it was closed. As soon as we walked into the restaurant, we were greeted by a woman who I can only assume was the owner. She asked us how many people, I told her 2, she pointed at an open table and we sat down. After browsing through the menu for about 10 minutes, we were ready to order. It took her another 10 or so to stop at our table. The restaurant was busy, but not to the point where she didn't have a spare moment to stop at the Vietnamese and Chinese customers to talk with them...which she did. When I ordered, I pointed to what I wanted (#3 phô with beef balls and tenderloin), and as I flipped to the back where the drinks were located, she slapped my hand and scolded me in French, I'm assuming saying something along the lines of, "I couldn't read it. Wait!" She then flipped the menu back to the page where the phô was listed and wrote down my order. She asked if I wanted a small or big, I told her petite (small). After taking my friend' order, I also asked her for an orange juice, which she brought right away. Probably the only positive thing I can say about this entire experience. We waited patiently for our food, and I noticed that all the other customers who ordered phô had received a plate of fresh vegetables, which is customary, yet I hadn't received anything. When the food finally arrived, my friend politely asked her for more of the hoisin sauce because our bottle was practically empty. She scolded my friend and said that the sauce was only for phô dishes and she would bring more sauce once we used it all. So that's exactly what I did. No surprise she never returned with more sauce or a new bottle. We began eating and as I pulled the meat out of the bowl, I noticed a hair sandwiched between the layers of beef. I was already a few bites in but immediately spit out what was in my mouth and didn't touch the rest of the meal. My friend also commented that her food was mediocre as well. When she finally noticed that, although our bowls were quite full, but we weren't going to eat anymore, she finally brought the check. She had charged me for a large bowl of phô and not a small like I had ordered. At that point, we were just fed up with everything about the entire dining experience and paid exact change just so we could leave as soon as possible. I would NOT recommend his restaurant. I had some kind of rice dish with chicken in it and this tasted like it should have, but bland at the same time. (Yeah, I sometimes like bland food!) This was actually a Vietnamese dish, since the restaurant is both Vietnamese and Chinese. As a starter, we had a spring roll; a cold one, wrapped in something resembling cling film that you wrap your left-overs in. This was pretty tasty though. I should have gotten several of these. The worst thing was that the lady, probably one of the owners but also a waitress, was freakin' rude! I put soy sauce on my food and she yelled at me, telling me I'm not supposed to do that. I told her that when she buys me the dish, then I will eat it the way she wants me to. Also my friend's order was wrong. She's a vegetarian and the noodle dish the lady brought was beef. "Youordered that," she said. "You said number 35 (or whichever number)!" The lady was full of shit because the dish was ordered by its name and not a number. I was hungry and the food filled a hole but don't think I'll be going back there again. Its close to the Bourse and there are loads of Asian restaurants in that area, so there are better ones to choose from.
