I'm a classic beef-and-potatoes American eater, so the small-plate menu wasn't something I'd normally gravitate toward. But I couldn't have been more wrong. We shared several dishes -- deer, prawns, eggplant, goat cheese -- all things I wouldn't usually order, and every single plate was phenomenal. Even the drinks were memorable. The owner talked me out of a Coca-Cola and into their iced tea, which turned out to be incredible. We ended the meal with cappuccinos that were just as impressive. Every part of the experience introduced us to new flavors and combinations we never expected to love. It might honestly be the best restaurant I've ever visited. The owner was welcoming, friendly, and guided us through the menu like a tour of flavor town. We visited on a Monday without a reservation and were very lucky to get a table. For about $90 USD, we enjoyed a glass of wine, an iced tea, seven different small plates, two desserts, and coffee -- a meal that would easily cost over $200 back in the States. If you're in Prague and want an exceptional meal served by people who treat you like family, Kofein is the place. Call ahead if you can -- you won't be disappointed.

This place is about a block away from our apartment, and it had salad on the menu. Mine was really good, with shaved parmesan, prosciutto, tomatoes, and a mix of lettuce and arugula. My wife opted for a tagliatelle with sun dried tomatoes and bacon that was amazingly good. The pasta was handmade and fresh. While I felt like I needed a salad, after trying my wife's, I totally wish I had gotten one of their pastas too. For dessert, we shared a brownie with chili's in it. It was both chocolatey and spicy, and also amazingly good. If you're in Prague, and don't want czech food, give this place a try! Oh, and the owner was a very nice guy. Service was great .We started with 2 glasses of a Rose Made in CZ and small cheese plate. We each ordered a different pasta and a glass of CZ Pinot Noir. The pastas were fresh and filing I ended up taking home more than half since I was full from the cheese board. We ordered second glass of Pinot and stayed for a bit . I deducted a star because wine bars usually allow you to order an entire bottle . Maybe it's a CZ thing but I wasn't a fan of an only glass option.
