A friend of ours who is from Prague recommended this spot. The service was impeccable we had no reservation, walked in on a rainy day with stroller and a hungry toddler and they gave us a table right away. The food was AMAZING. This is a nice place right in the heart of old town, just steps from the Astronomical Clock. The restaurant is modern and bright, the food was really good. The staff were pleasant and attentive. Wow this was my favorite restaurant in Prague! The pastas were absolutely delicious!!! Make sure to make a reservation!! You can also do walk ins, but will have to wait in line. You physically need to stand in line to wait since they do not take your name time to call you back later. We walked in and the wait was totally worth it. Wish I could have tried more pastas! We ordered Spaghetti alla carbonara and Tagliatelle with Bolognese ragout. The Carbonara was phenomenal! Definitely one of the best I have had! They don't have any sort of text-to-wait system, so we all just kindof waited in a line in the foyer until it was our turn (the line kept moving!) We had the Burrata cheese with pepper panzanella and the grilled prawns with chilli and garlic aioli for starters, then two pasta dishes-- the Tagliatelle with black truffle and butter (lighter one) and the Spaghetti alla chitarra amatriciana with tomatoes, guanciale, chilli and pecorino cheese. Then for dessert I had the Vanilla ice cream with pistachio nuts and milk chocolate (this was everything I wanted and MORE). He kind of rolled his eyes and uttered "for your main course"?! I did not know there was a set sequence to placing our order. For some reason, we noticed the following: 1) our order took a long time to come. Our neighboring tables got their orders fast. 2) we were not offered water. All the other tables had water. So we asked for water after we ate dessert only to find out we had to pay for it. At least we got water. Food: My daughter's pasta carbonara was ok. Pasta Fresca is a great place to go if you're looking for good Italian food and fresh pasta in Prague. There's a large downstairs seating area that you wouldn't expect when you walk in. You walk through the kitchen prep area to get to the dining area, and it looks so cool! I really love the ambiance of the restaurant. From the start, our service wasn't great though. It took a while after being seated to even get menus. Our server eventually took our order, and we didn't see her the rest of the evening unless we gestured to her. Someone else brought out our food, and we gestured to her when we wanted to order dessert and after dinner drinks. Finally, a completely different server noticed we were finished and sitting unattended to, so he checked in on us then brought our check. The food was delicious. I love homemade pasta, and the cannelloni was amazing! I didn't love the panna cotta or the limoncello spritz though. Best food I had in Prague!! It was recommended by a colleague that stumbled upon it during our work trip. In 2 days, he came to this establishment THREE times. Not pictured are our starters which included prosciutto with cantaloupe and bruschetta toast. The prosciutto melted in your mouth and the cantaloupe was the perfect sweetness. The grape tomatoes in the bruschetta was so fresh with the most flavorful herby filled olive oil. The pastas were the absolute best dishes with the perfect amount to eat. As an American, we are so used to big dishes. These are definitely smaller than our norm, but truthfully all we needed! It was filling and quite affordable. I'm pretty sure the pasta was all house made as well! We made a comment to the host that it was the best pasta we ever had and he mentioned that the sous chef isn't even Italian (he's Czech!). This place was packed. We didn't have a reservation, but the host was able to seat us pretty quickly given gaps in the reservation system. He was very welcoming and worked his magic to accommodate us. While he did seat us, the space itself was small and right at the entrance of the restaurant. If you're claustrophobic, this might not be the spot for you. Though, if you book a reservation, you could be seated in a more comfortable area unlike us. Service was rather slow, but that might be my judgement as an American. It was very slow, but did allow for my food to digest between dishes. The quality and flavor of the food makes up for the tight space and slow service. Definitely worth the trip if you are looking for some pasta while in Prague. I could eat there everyday! read more

The two main dishes on the menu day we went there were Spaghetti with Sea Bass, Tomatoes, Garlic and White Wine, and Grilled Rump Steak with Green Pepper Sauce, Green Pea Pods and Roasted Potatoes. Came across this recommendation from a YouTube video, and boy was it a great recommendation! This is just a couple of blocks from the old town square. As you enter there is a stretch of small tables, don't worry these are meant for those who wants to eat and leave and not lounge around. We walked in around 7 pm with no reservation so we waited for less than 30 minutes for a table. Hostess has a her process down to handle the intake but a bit random with coat holding meaning no reservation no coat holding but we do see she takes for some and not others. The restaurant is quite narrow so space is tight between tables and front area yet decoration is simple and clean. There is a downstairs but all for reservation so we did not get to check it out. Bathroom is clean. Now comes the part of our waiter. We ordered 2 appetizers and 3 entries. Our waiter said one dish will take 30 minutes to prepare so do we want to wait or cancel or pick another dish but suggested to wait since we had to anyway while enjoying the appetizer. But he was not quite clear so we had to clarify twice leaded to a little bit of a heated exchanged. We decided to wait at the end but this waiter started to greet us very cold and unwelcoming while waiting our table but not the others. We did experience his unprofessionalism and rudeness toward 2 other parties sat next to us. He must have a last word for everything kinda guy. His partner on the other hand was very nice and polite. Food service was very very slow so we had to wait for more than 30 minutes for everything anyway. Other parties near us waited too long and wanted to just paid for appetizers and drinks and be done but they ended up waiting for at least an hour. Food is good and fresh but does not compensate for rude services. It left a sour taste for us. We are staying in Prague for a week but will not come back again So far we enjoyed the city and the people and other eating establishment but this was not a pleasant experience. "Do you have a reservation?" This is a small and popular place- so make a reservation if you can! If you'd like to press your luck, try to at least arrive before 6:30pm, or potentially offer to wait until a table gets up to leave. The hosts don't bother to take names or make a wait list- they know there will be more guests walking up later- so they just kind of tell people they're out of luck if no tables are available when they arrive without a reservation. Now, should you be one of the lucky ones to get a table, you'll find the service is friendly and helpful once you're sitting down. We got lucky. We also got in before 6:30pm on Sunday, and only had two people. Here's what we ordered... Caesar Salad- if you dislike anchovies or any flavor in your Caesar salad dressing, apparently this chef dislikes them too, because it was more like a watery creamy dressing rather than the potent anchovies and lemon style Caesar dressing. I probably would not order this again. Garlic Bread- why did we order garlic bread with orders of pasta to follow, and with complimentary bread on the table? Because we drank way too much alcohol at Black Angel before we arrived and our judgement was impaired... but it was really tasty with two long hot crusty buttery garlic baguettes making us forget we also had pasta on the way later. Totally made up for the disappointing salad. Lasagna Neapolitan- a stack of thick flat noodles sandwiching some brisket style beef mixed with a tomato ragu, and a light melting of cheese just on top. Mostly about the noodle here- which I like- but other people may yearn for more filling. Ravioli, Chicken, & Grains- I don't know what this was called on the menu, but it was OK. The chicken was on the pink side, but not undercooked, but perhaps a bit under seasoned. Overall- if this was the chef's best attempt, I think it fell a little short this evening. However, the pasta was all on target- so at least the name held up to the expectation when it came to pasta. read more

We came around 1pm on Monday without reservation. We were seated right away in the basement. Appetizer came out in 5 mins although we had to wait a while for main dishes. Started out with grilled prawns and it was delicious. I loved mixing the toast with fats oozing out from prawn head. Roasted leg of veal was tender, well-seasoned and perfectly portioned next to roasted potatoes and spinach. Pasta took a while longer than meat dish but they got the order wrong. We got linguine with mussels and prawns on the menu but there was no mussel in it. So, we told the waiter that the menu says mussels so he went right away to get the order fixed. Though amazed by linguine texture, I was again slightly disappointed at the saltiness of the dish itself. Maybe they were in a rush to redo the dish. However, I loved the food here overall. What really got me here was their bomb lemonade! Basil ginger lemonade was a perfect mix of sharpness, sourness and sweetness. It paired amazingly well with both pasta and meat dish. Great pasta. We came here without reservations around 6/7 pm on a Friday night. They were able to seat us immediately in the downstairs area. They gave us a time limit of 90 minutes (because we didn't have reservations), which was plenty time. A few of the other Italian restaurants we were looking at had weird hours, required reservations, or were very pricey. I got the spaghetti aglio olio - loved it. With two pilsners on the side. I thought everything was reasonably priced (not as cheap as the rest of Prague, but taking into account that it was one of the nicer restaurants in the area).
