I love this place and am so happy it's so close to my house! Their pastries are incredible and it feels like you're in a French cafe, but in Utah. I was really excited for this because we love the downtown location. Service both times we've gone for breakfast was horrible. Dinner service was just ok. Food not great. No kids menu for breakfast and meals were super pricey for the quality of food. Cappuccinos could use some work and some better cups. Bakery stuff is good. Simply amazing food! Hands down. I was a little skeptical to try that first because I didn't see tons of Yelp reviews. Or at least not tons of five stars. Seriously best chance I ever took. Probably my new favorite restaurant in all of Utah. The creators of this menu are no doubt classically-trained chefs or just really really that good. The pairing of foods were phenomenal. Not too outlandish. Very accessible to the average person. But just so much flavor and goodness. We ordered the grilled cheese with the French onion soup. It was amazing. The pesto chicken sandwich was out of this world as well. I can't wait to come back and try the blueberry and balsamic sandwich. Their chocolate croissants were so great that my children begged to come back. They rival those in France. The iced caramel latte was also out of this world. The price point is kind of high, especially for Utah, but you get what you pay for. On Fridays they also make a great salmon croquette in a lobster cream sauce. read more

I've been coming to Gourmandise downtown location probably since I was 10 years old, and I'm 24 now! Coming here as a kid was always a treat and basically the most exciting thing we got to do on the weekends. I was so thrilled to find out that they opened up this location in Draper which is so much closer to where I live. Knowing this, I knew I had to check it out. The moment you pull up to the building you can see how beautiful it already is outside with their signature "Gourmandise" sign that lights up at night. When I walked in I was giddy with excitement at how adorable and flawlessly structured the interior looked. From the tiles on the floor to the high vaulted ceiling, everything was just so chic and put together perfectly. Loved the copper/gold accent pieces and greenery. Just as I would imagine a Paris bakery to look like. My go-to desserts that keep me coming back are the Tiramisu cake, marzipan cake, and the creme brulee. I came here again another time for brunch with my girlfriends and got half of the chicken pesto sandwich and french onion soup, which was very good and so cheesy! My friend got a half cobb salad that she said was good and looked huge for being the half size! I enjoyed coming here during the daytime for a change because of all the natural lighting that comes in. Perfect for pictures! Our waitress was great. Very friendly and checked on us frequently. By the way I saw one white bean in the white bean soup. The bread on the sandwiches were good but, it ends there. The curry chicken salad barely tasted like anything at all. The only thing I actually tasted were the grapes that were in the chicken salad. Salt didn't even help. Just spent 30 bucks and had to throw everything away. probably won't be back. The strawberry pie that was being displayed in the displayed in the display case had green strawberries. I've always loved Gourmandise uptown. I've been back to this place six times since it opened. I have to say, it was just ok. I've traveled to the Gourmandise Bakery in Salt Lake City and the food and desserts were amazing. I bought an expensive strawberry cake on a Saturday for a Sunday birthday celebration. I'm not sure how long that cake had been there but it was dry and the strawberries were slimy!! When the food finally arrived just shy of room temperature, half of our order was incorrect. Can't compare it to downtown location . I had the funniest tasting Italian cream soda . I ordered raspberry flavor , what I got was a flat disgusting drink . Turns out he put sprite instead of club soda. So you can imagine how the raspberry syrup taste with sprite's lemon flavor . When I confronted the guy who made it he says his way was better. I took my wife to Gourmandise 3 times in the last week because we're hooked. Every dessert and pastry we tried was amazing. The staff is always friendly and the place is always clean. The tiramisu mousse cake and the chocolate raspberry mousse cakes are my favorites. Unfortunately on our last visit for brunch we had a little bit of bad service. I think they were short staffed and we did notice an employee running to work late. But we also had a hair in our drink and waiting a little longer than usual. Again, I just think it was an unforeseen staffing issue and that's why they stay at 5 stars for me. read more

We had a delicious valentines dinner here. The wait was twenty minutes, but we were seated after only ten minutes. Dinner was delicious and served within 10-15 minutes. I had the stew which was so good. My husband had the tri tip with asparagus. It was also delicious with a blue cheese crumble and creamy sauce. Portions are smaller than a typical dinner restaurant but they were still filling. Prices were very reasonable. Only about 12-15 per plate. And service was excellent. The whole menu looked amazing.
