There are several areas with machinery to exercise. The park as a dog park segregated for large and small dogs. The walking path is beautiful with a lot of greenery and fresh air. You can see the water from part of the walking path. The trail is very nice and the park is well maintained. You feel very safe there and people are friendly. I brought my daughter and she enjoyed being surrounded by nature in this beautiful park.

On my first night in Miami, I couldn't sleep, so around 4:30 AM, I decided to lace up my shoes and walk the long, quiet stretch down Ocean Drive all the way to the southern tip of the island to see what all the fuss was about. Even in the pre-dawn darkness, the journey and the arrival were nothing short of mesmerizing. I sat out on the edge around 5:30 AM and took a break for over an hour, just watching the transition from ink-black water to the soft, golden glow of sunrise between 6:30 and 6:45 AM. In that stillness, the vibe was pure peace--cool ocean air, the rhythmic crash of the Atlantic hitting the rocks, and an atmosphere that feels a world away from the South Beach party scene. What makes this spot even more special is its deep-rooted history. Jutting 450 feet out into the ocean right where Government Cut meets the Atlantic, this ground has seen Miami evolve through every era. In the 1920s, it was home to George Carter's "Million Dollar Pier" and the famous Minsky's Burlesque pavilion. Over the decades, the surrounding land shifted from harbor pilot operations and city facilities into the world-class park and pier we have today, complete with Tobias Rehberger's vibrant modern light beacon welcoming ships into the channel. Experiencing it at dawn when the world is barely awake was therapeutic and stunning. Sitting there, I could only imagine how lively and beautiful it gets during peak daylight when the cruise ships glide through the cut and the turquoise water sparkles. I will definitely go out of my way to come back during the daytime, but if you ever find yourself awake before sunrise, do not hesitate to make the trek down. An absolute must-visit landmark.

These birds are adorable, but they are threatened by habitat loss. There is a volunteer who regularly checks for Piping Plovers during migration, and she looks for bands that reveal the path of the bird's migratory flight. It's important that we have places for these birds to forage, and I hope the city continues to protect this beach for that use. The bathrooms were a welcome amenity. I had problems paying the parking fee, it was a complicated process. There were about 10 peafowl (peacocks) that roamed the park, a remaining vestige of when this was a zoo. There were many wild birds throughout the park.

It's full of beautiful lush greenery with beautiful nature trails. I also loved the children's playground and splash pad. My son had so much fun and made a few friends. The landscapes were beautiful but we were excited about the animals too. The gardens close at 5:30 pm but they take the animals (donkeys, cow, goats and pig) away at 4 pm, which we didn't know. So they were being put away as we got there. The playground is nice, although not very big, my girls enjoyed it. The water park closes earlier than the rest of the gardens too. Overall a lot of the "experiences" seemed to be closed on the Sunday we visited. Not sure it was worth the drive.
