The rice and chicken were so flavorful, incorporating chunks of pineapples throughout. I can not emphasize enough how I ate the entire bowl of rice and chicken. There was SOooooo much food I don't know how I did it. But, I didn't want to stop eating it. The service was incredible and professional. Overall, 20/10 and I will be stalking their next location to try other items including a cheesesteak and the tacos.

This time, we ordered Daddy's burger ($15) comes with fries and the Island Paradise Bowl($28). Make sure to let them know what toppings you would like on the burger(I was not asked). I just assumed it was the basics like lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickle. Even without the fixings, we enjoyed the smashed burger with a slight pink center! Very tasty and fries are included. Try the Pineapple Bowl! They are incredible. The Island Paradis Bowl came with shrimp, chicken, and salmon, which were all cooked perfectly. There is a bit of a wait, but with them taking your name/ number and texting you when it is ready, it makes it super convenient to check out other vendors/food trucks. Can't wait to try the other items such as tacos and other sandwiches.

The guy in the truck taking orders was just rude not by what he said but how he spoke to me. The curds were not all that. It's basically moterilla sticks in circle form. I actually like mozzarella sticks better. They did have a few dips to offer which I always like. I don't think I would eat at this truck again. It's nothing special to be cocky about.

I could never eat a whole helping by myself -- mostly because I never eat much -- but it's worked out that whomever I've been with has always wanted to split the order. That helps with the $9 price-tag, which is, yes, a bit exorbitant for the offering. Still. You can't deny how great these curds are! I'm definitely a way bigger fan of the cheddar option, and wish there was a way to request just cheddar instead of having some of the mozzarella stashed in there too.* And the accompanying ranch sauce? Fantastic. Yes, sometimes they have a massive line. Generally I just either come back when they don't or just simply deal with the line? I don't think it's that big of a deal. Popular food trucks have lines at festivals sometimes. Fact of life. *EDIT 5/20/15: The Cow and the Curd reached out to clarify that they don't ever serve mozzarella. They're actually white cheddar!

Here, the regulations make the enterprising that much more difficult. Food trucks are their own unique restaurant category, balancing quality, creativity and value, with speed, accessibility and of course, parking. Traditional restaurants are taking a beating during a time where indoor dining is not a draw, decor means nothing and the pomp surrounding food personalities in Philly and beyond hold no weight in a scene that suffers more and more each day. If the demise of the restaurant scene in 2020 is like a full-length novel, then this review of this taco food truck is more of a wonderful novella to be watched each afternoon like a story one lives to immerse themselves in -- concentrated and poignant, full of the flavors of what one would expect from authenticity. Sitting adjacent to an Auto Zone parking lot in what may be considered not the fanciest of areas, exists what may be one of the best taco trucks in Philly. The most successful operations boil a specific type of cuisine down to a handful of signature, crowd-pleasing dishes. The taco, burrito and torta. That's what they offer. Fresh, hot, authentic fast, friendly, clean. Bright house made sauces, soft, fresh tortilla. Clean flavors, simplicity in its execution replicated repeatedly. That is the magic and this is what they do. Support small, support micro, support local, and oh yeah, put that salsa roja on errythang!!!
