The fact I can place one order for pick up at multiple stores makes is amazing especially when all your items are not available at one location. We experienced it yesterday traveling between Pleasant Hill, Emeryville and Pinole locations for pickup. Pick up is always a breeze. I receive a text and email when my order is ready. The pick up area is usually near the cash registers at the front of the store under your last name. If your items are oversized or have an order larger than the pick up bins then you will need to check in with staff for retrieval. The store itself is well organized and maintained. With the signage, it is easy to navigate. Staff are friendly and willing to assist with directions or questions regarding a project DIY. Coupons are always available ranging from 15 to 30 percent off. Pre-pandemic it was 40% quite often, I rarely see those these days.

This review is more about the same-day delivery service than Michael's, the store. I placed two…read moreorders for same-day delivery form the Pinole location. I received notification that one order was out for delivery, and I received that item quickly and in perfect condition. Then I received a notification that the second item was out for delivery, and I expected the same great delivery experience. However, this wasn't the case. The second item was never delivered, even though the driver said he did. My "delivery" driver, Adrian G., who works for Uber, came to my house, walked to the driveway, and took a picture of the first item, which was sitting near my front door. He never ever delivered the second item, which was identical to the first item, only larger (these items were supposed to be a pair). He did this to cover himself in case I filed a complaint. This same-day delivery service is offered through Uber, Door Dash, and other delivery services, and there is no way to track your order or to get in touch with Uber, etc to complain about their delivery drivers. Fortunately, I paid through Paypal. I filed a case with Paypal, informing them that I never received the item, and I received a refund. This was the only option for resolution. I guess me AND Adrian got something out of the deal. I got my money back and he, she, or they, got a sparkly disco-ball-looking ghost for his, her, or their front porch. I guess I am writing this review as a cautionary tale about same-day delivery. You risk not getting what you ordered.

I have been to many, many wonderful picture framers in my life. They have really done fine work. However, in my long life I have never seen such wonderful work as Rodolfo does. He has the eye of a true artist. His attention to detail is incredible. I brought him a painting that was 100 years old. The job he did is just beautiful. From the frame, the mat, and the glass look really wonderful. I could write much more about how gorgeous is store is, but suffice it to say that anyone who comes here will really be impressed. He left the original job on Friday saying he would return the following week to finish a few remaining items. After that, I spent over a month trying to get a response, with little to no communication and no explanation for this treatment. When I finally expressed my frustration, he admitted he had intentionally been ignoring me because of the earlier misunderstanding and offered to send someone to finish the outstanding tasks, "if that's what I was upset about." That level of unprofessionalism was far more disappointing than the few remaining tasks on the project. Misunderstandings happen, but they shouldn't result in giving a customer the silent treatment and leaving a job unfinished. I cannot recommend someone who responds to conflict by avoiding communication completely.
