This was surprisingly one of the best slices I've ever had. The crust was flaky and not too doughy and the Buffalo chicken was very flavorful. First Impressions - N/A I've been ordering delivery for the last several pizza parties at work. The Noms - margaritas used to be my favorite, but recently I fell in love with their Grandma pizza. The rest of my coworkers really like it too... that probably explains why we've ordered it five times in the last month... we used to order Famiglia... but ever since try and Gotham pizza, it has become our default place to order for any occasion... students last day of rotation, coworker's birthday, a party managers to distract the peasant staff... and the food is so good, there's almost never any leftovers. In conclusion - 10/10 would recommend. The pizzas are a little pricey. But ultimately worth it. If you split it between a few coworkers, it's really not that bad. Good pizza! This is NY pizza with a cornmeal crispy crust. The margherita is fresh and toasted perfectly with a great crust. The pepperoni slice held its own as well and similarly to the margherita slice, was toasted perfectly in the oven with a nice crisp crunch of the pepperoni layered on top. I'd stick to the ones with toppings as the ones without are surprising a little bland and keep that garlic/oregano shaker handy if going plain. This isn't a destination or the best pizza in NYC but it's certainly an option if in the local area. There is some seating out in front but it may be best to grab some to go and head to the nearby park benches to savor. read more

Another great NY pizza place. I'm definitely a pepperoni gal, so that's the flavor I'll be comparing between all of these places. The pepperoni pizza here has a great taste, and I tend to love pizza with a little bit of that grainy cornmeal texture on the crust, which this pizza has. The crust is thin and crisp, so if you're looking for something really doughy and bread-heavy, this probably isn't the pizza for you. It's a great price, though, about the same as Roma Pizza. So they no longer do any of the flavor-infused crusts and I would say that consistency needs to be a virtue. One of our pies was excellent - perfectly light crust with just the amount of chew and the crispiness you come to expect from Gotham - and a week later, the crust was a bit too crispy with no chew. The pies here are solid but not as amazing as they used to be. There is still a place for Gotham in the UES pizza rotation but not sure they will be my top pick each time now. read more

If I can give this place ZERO stars I would. Today was my first time ordering from this place on seamless. And it was the worst experience I've ever encountered. For one my order arrived late and my pizza was extremely burnt. That's not the worst part. I paid for my order online, but always tip in cash. Instead of saying "hello" and handing over my pizza. The delivery guy who has the meanest face and nastiest attitude says "where's my tip" "You didn't leave a tip with your card" " I'm not giving you your pizza until you tip". I immediately felt vexed. For one I had the cash in my hand to tip him. But my 8 year old daughter wanted to hand me the pizza and give him the tip. But he made the experience so difficult. At this point I refused to tip him because he was basically demanding a tip that in all honestly no one is obligated to pay. (Although I always tip as common curtesy) but this guy didn't deserve it. He then proceeded to call me a white b*** in Spanish which little did he know I am a Latina woman. I felt so violated and disrespected especially the fact that my child witness this. I open the pizza box to give my daughter her slice and her regular cheese pizza was so burnt the cheese looked black and it was extremely hard and cold at that. Immediately I called Gotham and who ever picked up which was today March 10th at 1130 pm. The person who answered sounded like he didn't Care and it was as if he knew already my pizza was burnt. And I also complained about the delivery service. His response was "What do you want me to do" I requested a refund and asked when will the owner be in. He hung up on me. 10 mins later the delivery guy calls my phone blocked and says "Fu*k you, cheap b***" And hangs up. I was extremely taken aback. I can't wait for tomorrow I will definitely make Sure who ever owns this place knows what type of People they have working for them. Such a disappointment. My go-to place for ordering pizza with friends! Crust is crispy on the outside but with a chew. The flavors are all there, and they give a good amount of cheese. I love their buffalo chicken by the slice (too expensive to get a whole pizza of it!). Good amount of toppings! When I got home, I opened the pizza box and there was a huge cockroach sitting in the corner of the box. I called and they said they would issue me a credit for the next time I called which I thought was fair. I go there often. When this afternoon, the head worker (same person working the night I picked up the pie) said something about giving me a $5.00 credit or maybe 10% the next time. I am so incredibly disappointed and insulted by the quality of food and service my family and I endured today at the hands of the staff of Gotham pizza. I ordered a fresh pie and was given a rejected pie that was not picked up by its original owner. The pizza maker and staff insisted that it was just out of the oven. Of course it was dried out no cheese and the sauce was the only color the pizza had. When I told them the pizza was dried out they refused to make a new pie for which I ordered and paid for. The Mexican staff was commenting in Spanish that they would have had a wasted pizza if they didn't insist I had it because it wasn't picked up. They all banded together to laugh at the whole thing. I let it go because no pizza is worth upsetting my children. I was served an old pizza and then laughed at for saying something. The disregard and taunting I received from the entire staff has to be the worst behavior I have ever witnessed in any establishment. Gotham pizza has become my go to pizza delivery spot. I order their pizza off UberEats, and it usually comes pretty quickly. It's some of my favorite pizza I've had, because it's not too heavy with tomato sauce/cheese, and had a delicious crust. My favorite toppings combo is sausage, onions, mushroom. My friend wanted some pizza while we were returning from a long walk on the upper east side and Gotham pizza was the closest pizza joint and they have limited seating which is good cause its starting to rain .nothing really fancy at this pizza joint as it has the typical pizza shop menu and my bud and I just want regular slices and a couple of sodas. The guys behind the counter look too serious , don't talk much , and don't seem friendly with the customers but thats ok cause its likely a one and done visit at this pizza joint .pizza was ok and it was well done which I prefer but nothing to sing about as I bet there are about 6 or more pizza shops in the area they have better tasting pizza. The grandma pizza here is my favorite in the city! I always get delivery from here when I'm craving pizza and have friends over. It is a hit every time. I usually get a regular pie, but opted for buffalo chicken the last time I ordered from here. Wasn't the best buffalo chicken pizza I ever had, so I would just stick to regular or normal toppings like pepperoni. There regular pies are great too, the crust is some of the best in the city. This is the last time I'm going to order from this place ever again. We always order from seamless online and always write in the memo area to read carefully as they always always always get the order wrong. Order a small pizza with a side salad with mozzarella cheese for +1 extra with Italian dressing. Why did we get a salad with no mozzarella and with Caesar dressing? Especially when you write in the note area? It's a tiny place with about 6-7 tables, 2 two sweaters and 4-5 four seaters The food: Grandma Slice- I thought the flavor of this was good, the sauce had a nice pop and you can see chunks of garlic and pieces of basil throughout. The bottom also had a nice crunchy bottom. Plain Slice- this was good but not as good as the grandma. Slice was $2.75. I don't know what the going rate for pizza slices in NYC is but that seemed pretty reasonable to me. After the schlep to my place, I throw this bad boy in the oven to reheat. The crust was my favorite part, it was PERFECT. So thin I had to almost eat the pizza New York style (folded). Paper thin crust is NY pizza ladies and gentlemen. Go to Chicago if you want it thicker (or just another pizza place around here I guess). Cheese/sauce ratio was ideal as well. I enjoyed the cheese but in a PERFECT world the sauce could have had slightly more flavor. It was NOT bad by any stretch but I'm talking about perfection here. The pizza is good but the staff is extremely rude. I just moved into the UES and this place is almost right across the street from me. I've been here 3 times and the pizza is always consistently decent. Something needs to be done about the dude who works the register (probably late 20's to mid 30's age, hispanic looking fellow). I came in on Sunday the 12th around 6:30/7pm in case the boss see's this review and wants to do something about it. Anyways the "manager" took my order, put my slice in the oven and charged my card. Slice comes out and he still hasn't given me my card back... I'm literally standing at the register eating my pizza. After about 2 full minutes of this I politely ask him, "Can I can have my card back please?" He goes, " Don't you see I'm busy? Here take the card, you don't need to sign it. Careful on your way out, it's cold out there tonight." I said, "Are you seriously telling me to leave for asking for my card back?"
