Pumpkin Patch with the Russian River Valley as backdrop…read more We were driving along the Russian River Valley and saw signs along the road leading to this pumpkin patch so we stopped by to check it out. This is a family-run, community-oriented farm in the Sonoma County. The owner was nice and friendly. During our visit he only required that masks be worn at the check-in tent or when we paid for any purchases towards the end (at exit), other than that we just needed to be mindful of keeping 6-ft distance from other patrons. I forgot to bring my mask with me but they supplied a disposable one and I didn't have to run back to the car. The farm field was pretty big and there are pumpkins everywhere, direction of the field was one way so we followed the path, went through a cornfield (don't worry, it's not a maze) and made our way around until the exit. The pumpkin patch will be operating until Halloween. Enjoy lots of pumpkins, decorative gourds, winter squash and lots more. They don't have a corn maze, or fancy rides and bouncy houses which is okay with me. We enjoyed an authentic farm experience and the beautiful backdrop of the Russian River Valley. Review #2415

I was short on time, and didn't feel like waiting or looking for someone. The location is pretty cool, except the long dirt driveway that is guaranteed to get your car dirty. The nice picnic area out front will be great for a break between wineries. Can't wait for the fresh vegi's. I'll stop by after using Riverfront Regional Park.

This is for Hatake Farm Grab and Go, the storefront on Main St. in WIllits for Hatake Farms…read more Hatake Farms Ghost Kitchen has been open for awhile, but was only available for phone in or internet orders. You could also find their food at Mariposa Market in the refrigerator case near the sandwiches. The Grab and Go just recently opened next to the Shanachie Pub. I don't think a lot of people know it is there because the opening was very quiet. It is not a restaurant, but a place to pick up Hatake Farm's delicious sushi and bento box offerings. I enjoy the sushi and picking up a roll has been a weekly thing for me when I didn't feel like cooking dinner for more than a year. I had never ordered on-line however. The other day, I was really curious about the new Grab and Go and ventured in. The space is beautiful. It is neat as a pin, quiet, and serene. The refrigerator is filled with SO MANY MORE OPTIONS than either their on-line menu or the offerings at the market. The prices are extremely reasonable. These rolls are made for taste with big nicely trimmed pieces of fish. I picked the hamachi and avocado roll which was big and only $12.50. The hamachi (my favorite raw fish) was really fresh and well cut. Avocado was perfectly ripe. It was absolutely delicious and probably the best sushi roll ever. It really is best to come to the Grab and Go, rather than the market, (although we love our market). But this is better. There are also a variety of lunch/dinner boxes that are simply stunning, with meat or fish, rice, home-pickled veggies and onions and lovely sauces. They also had a Poki bowl that I HAVE to try next because I love poki and this looked like it came off a page in a magazine. I also have to say something about the rice. They say a sushi chef must spend years perfecting rice before the sushi master will allow a student to do anything else. I believe it. Rice is harder than it looks. It is important that sushi rice is not mushy and that it is the right texture and that you can perceive every grain. I rarely see that. This guy has it down. The rice is perfect. It is really good. Right now, he has rolls, boxes, and poki bowls. I would love it if he started making nigiri! You should absolutely make it a point to come here as this is outstanding sushi, by any measure.

I ordered online and picked up my food in the little back alley where the door is--it was a little bit hard to find but oh my goodness this was some of the best food I have ever had. Even something simple like the chicken teriyaki bowl (which I ate the next day for lunch at a stop along the Avenue of the Giants) was THE BEST I've ever had, and I've had this dish a lot. I wish this place was where I live as I'd be a regular. Highly recommend. (This review is for the grab and go kitchen they have behind the pub.) I also had the tempura oyster mushrooms and a spicy shiso herb roll. All delicious.
