We went with tri tip with onions & peppers, chicken thighs, green salad, pesto pasta salad, mushrooms, and asparagus. I have never had more perfectly cooked asparagus! We also had appetizer sliders for cocktail hour and strawberry lemonade. They are very reasonably priced and Derek allows you to make menu & head count tweaks up until the Monday beforehand. Chef Domenico provides a unique service where he prepares a home-cooked authentic Italian dinner at your own home or, in our case, a vacation rental home. In the month preceding the dinner, I emailed back and forth with Chef Domenico on numerous occasions to perfect the menu. He accommodated each and every one of my requests (including vegetarian options and making sure that each of the four courses were completely to our liking). We finally decided upon: A first course of cheese and olives, grilled vegetables (for the vegetarians) and bresaola with arugula and shave parmesan. Everything was great. A second course of Gnocchi with Sicilian Pesto. This was seriously amazing. The best gnocchi that I have ever had. Our group was out at dinner back in Chicago the following week and still talking about how delicious this dish was. A third course of: Tagliata di manzo (filet mignon) with mixed greens for the meat eaters (the meat was cooked perfectly) or sole Fillet topped with a grated zucchini and breadcrumb crust (for our pseudo-vegetarian friends... I am sure he would come up with an equally delicious full-vegetarian option) Even after two other courses, every one cleaned their plates. Dessert course: Ricotta Mouse with Strawberries for the dessert course. As with the rest of the meal, dessert was delicious. He also offered wine pairings, but we decided to go with what we had purchased earlier in the day during our winery visits.
